Lolly and Lindley purchased this house in 1978
The Oak Tree on this property speaks for it self, it is AMAZING, as are the birds who come to rest. We chose this property 38 years ago, partly because of the open flat sunny meadow surrounded by forests with distant mountain views and partly because the geology is as varied in each direction as the potential activities nearby. Once in the house you may not want to leave but the redwood forests, beaches, and cities of San Francisco, Monterey, Carmel, San Jose, Palo Alto and Sunnyvale are all with in reach.
If you are looking for crowds, noise, fog, traffic -- go someplace else. We are tranquility, blue skies, white fluffy clouds, bird song, deer, wild turkeys and brilliant starlight.

2010-07-17 "(5 out of 5) This is a great home in a wonderful area. Everything you need is there including a fully equipped kitchen! Big yard with beautiful views. There are tons of outdoor activities to do, including a one of a kind zip line through the Redwoods at Mt. Hermon. Our family definitely enjoyed our 3 month stay in Ben Lomond."
Myself and seven close friends had an amazing time at the bungalow. We were able to enjoy the local golf course (Pasatiempo), the downtown area and the amazing backyard that Lolly and Lindley provide. I think our favorite features were the fire pit and garden! Although we didn't get a chance to use the hot tub, it was ready for our immediate use. Thanks again Lolly and Lindley for allowing us to rent your beautiful (and comfortable) house! Have a great year!
We rented the awesome house for our visiting relatives for the holiday and it was perfect!
From the first interaction to the last Lolly and Lindley have been a pleasure to work with. The home is exactly as advertised - actually it exceeded my expectations. It was extremely clean upon arrival and everything was in working order. It was decorated nicely with comfortable furniture and super comfortable mattresses. We were there for Thanksgiving and the modern kitchen was full of handy cooking appliances and utensils. We hugged redwoods, did a little wine tasting, took a little tour of Santa Cruz and a couple of hikes. I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a getaway.
PS: As their title states, we saw birdsong, deer, wild turkeys, white clouds, blue skies, starlight and more!
Spent two nights here with my wife and our two boys (ages 4 and 6). The house was very comfortable and the location was serene. Friendly neighbors, lots of space/trails to explore, and plenty of nearby activities. Everything was very well organized, but when I did have a few questions, the owners answered very promptly. Overall, an excellent experience. Would highly recommend.
We really enjoyed our stay here. It was a charming place close to walking, hiking, and geocaching trails and conveniently located (10 miles) from Santa Cruz and all it had to offer. The house itself was well equipped---kitchen had various ways to make coffee and all the things we needed to make meals. Had a great time, enjoyed the hot tub and appreciated the wfi connection.
We spent four nights at the house and had a wonderful visit traveling with 2 adults and 2 kids. The house is clean, comfortable and it's in a great location away from the hustle and bustle of Santa Cruz yet just a short 15 minute drive away. We enjoyed the quiet neighborhood, comfortable beds, modern kitchen and outdoor spaces. There is great hiking and redwood trees just minutes away and some good, laid-back dining options. It was easy to take in some activities in the mountains and then spend time in Santa Cruz or along the coast all in a day without feeling overwhelmed. I believe that someone mentioned the lack of closet space, particularly in the master bedroom and that is accurate but not something that bothered us. We had a little mishap at check in but Lolly was very helpful resolving this and following up to make sure we were settled in. We would gladly stay here again on another visit to the SC area!
