Charming Mountain House with Interesting Animals

  • 5 of 5

Lovely, spacious, and comfortable home. All rooms were clean and tastefully decorated in a aged mountainesque style. The kitchen was well equipped as were the music, movie, and game cabinets. The opportunity to meet with the exotic animals was exciting and satisfying. We enjoyed the fireplace and the stereo system which played Christmas music throughout the living areas of the house. The linens and paper supplies were plentiful and of high quality (including towels, toilet paper, and paper towels). Finally, the owners were a pleasure to communicate with and imparted a warm and welcoming feel to the living experience.

First time staying on a farm!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had a great time staying here. The home was very cozy with the fireplace. We loved the open floor plan and large kitchen. Brian and his wife Linda had left a welcome basket with treats and plenty of travel size soaps, tooth paste, floss, ect. My husband loved walking down to the farm and taking selfies with Darwin the camel. Brian and Linda made us feel like family and were so helpful. We would definitely stay

here again!

BEST VRBO RENTAL SO FAR!

  • 5 of 5

The owners Brian and Linda are fantastic! Easy going and very welcoming. Linda had the coffee, little soaps and shampoos. Give it a personal touch and very clean home. Stunning house with all the comforts of home. The furry farm kids was the best! We loved seeing all of them and wanted to take Darwin the camel home! For sure going back and telling my family and friends this is a must stay if going to Asheville overnight.

A Gem Retreat

  • 5 of 5

Linda and Brian, we had so much fun. Your home is beautiful! Shannon and I enjoyed staying and loved meeting you. Its as though you just walk in and all of the anxiety and stress melts away. The house has everything you need should you forget to pack anything. So comfortable. The wide summer porch is awesome. It's located so convenient to anything you may need to do but yet far enough away for peace and tranquility. We loved all the animals! We will definitely be coming back. It was great meeting you both and look forward to seeing you again soon. Thank you for the great hospitality.

Our best VRBO experience by far!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I spent 4 days at Brian and Linda's lovely home in Fletcher, NC. The photos don't really do it justice; the house is very large for a 2 bedroom and exquisitely appointed. We often spent mornings wandering the farm, admiring their Japanese Gardens, and feeding the exotic animals. My daughter was especially taken with Darwin, the friendly camel with a taste for root beer. But what really set our stay apart was the hospitality we received from Brian and Linda. They really went above and beyond to treat us like welcome guests of their family. There was a large basket of snacks waiting for us upon arrival. All bathrooms were stocked with travel toothpaste, mouthwash, and dental floss and the towels were nice and soft. And the kitchen was stocked with the essential ingredients for cooking (oil, some spices, modern cookware, etc.). When we arrived Brian and Linda came down with a sack of carrots and apples so my daughter could learn how to feed their exotic farm animals. Then he installed gates on his front porch so our little kids could run around worry free. Then they recommended a wonderful little café for dinner. The entire stay was entirely free of all the little headaches that come with a vacation rental (extensive cleaning list, cleaning and booking fees, outdated and worn furnishings, etc.) They even shipped home some children's eating utensils after we accidentally left them in the dishwasher! Again, I really cannot recommend this rental enough if you are staying in the Asheville area. We will definitely be back!

A Real Treasure

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this tucked-away treasure in April, 2011. This beautiful Charleston-style home is perched on a mountainside 20 minutes outside of Asheville. It is loaded with charm from the inside out. Each room is decorated with a lovely mix of eclectic furnishings, including antique and contemporary pieces. The open floor plan is perfect for entertaining and socializing. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you need to prepare a simple meal or Thanksgiving dinner. The master bedroom is very spacious and has a very comfy bed. The attached bathroom is modern with a large tiled shower. The second bedroom is roomy and has two comfy twin beds. There is a huge porch that extends across the front of the house and a large screened side porch that is perfect for taking in the views and catching a glimpse of a donkey, cow or camel, if you're lucky. Brian, the owner, gives great attention to detail, including our favorite snacks. He is friendly, easy-going and attentive. He and his wife have a nursery and farm on the property with the most unusual trees and animals we have ever seen! This home exceeded our expectations and we look forward to our next visit!
