Lower Manhattan Apartment Rental Photos and Description

Apartment, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

Enter via a classic, iron gate door which goes down a few steps into a spacious private courtyard. This large, 1,000 sq ft, one bedroom apartment is very quiet and in a terrific village location, just minutes from Soho and all the attractions of the West Village.

This spacious apartment has hardwood floors, a mix of antique furniture and eclectic art, making it very comfortable.  The dimmer switches on all of the track lighting can give the apartment a very romantic feel. The comfort level is heightened with ceiling fans in 3 rooms. As you enter this apartment there are elegant beige sofas, unique lamps, coffee table, computer table, a 36' flat screen HDTV and cable. Newly renovated, the large fully equipped kitchen has a semi-circular custom chopping block counter with stools perfect for breakfast or the best Pizza in the Village delivered by Joe's.  It has a toaster oven and microwave, gas stove with oven, coffee maker and a collection of dishes and silverware; everything you could need for your cooking pleasure.

The bathroom is renovated with teal and white tile. It is a nice size with a large Jacuzzi tub and shower. The two windows in the bedroom look out onto the private garden. The queen size bed is very comfortable with a latex mattress, doctor recommended for bad backs. There is plenty of drawer space and a large closet whose sliding doors are mirrored. Laundry facilities are directly across the street from this building. The 6th and 7th Avenue subway lines are close and all other lines are nearby. Keep also in mind that with one of the subway lines passing close there is a degree of vibrations

Bleecker Street, only two short blocks away, is famous for its new designer shops and specialty food stores, selling everything from freshly baked bread to homemade Italian sausage.  Experience what it is like to be a real New Yorker with anything that you could ever want within 2 blocks.  We are sure you will enjoy your stay in this artistic Village apartment near all transportation, shopping and some of the best restaurants in the Village.

What makes this apartment unique

Being in the middle of West Village, it is so easy to have a great time and enjoy the city life right out the door. You can literally become a New Yorker in minutes. The courtyard makes for a great area for lunch, and the apartment is warm and inviting. I really hope you enjoy it.

Our 2nd Stay at This Terrific West Village Apt.

  • 5 of 5

This was our 4th summer trip to NYC and the first time we stayed at the same apt (see previous review). We liked it so much last summer, we wanted to do it again. The location is outstanding. The apt. is quiet, NYC spacious, and the décor, which was nice before, is improved. Luca and staff are great. Good shower, good kitchen; really it's an all around nice apt. in our opinion.

Cozy Home for NYC Adventure

  • 4 of 5

This was my very first trip to NYC. I wanted to stay "like a local" and enjoy the quieter parts of the city. First off, dealing with Luca (property manager) was fantastic. He was very organized and prompt with information. Getting to the apartment was very easy, many subway lines intersect just 2 blocks away. The location of the Carmin Street apartments cannot be beat, we took the subway up-town, down-town and over to Brooklyn, all from the station just 2 blocks away. I was traveling with my 7 year old daughter and we found so many parks and playgrounds within walking distance. This is a perfect base for a family vacation to the city.

Previous posters commented on the subway noise int he apartment, and yes we could hear and feel the subway. After the first night we did not even notice it. Other than the "slight" noise from the subway, the apartment was quiet. No noise from the street. The private courtyard was wonderful!! The neighborhood had many great restaurants, our favorite was the Grey Dog. Wonderful staff, lots of choices, great coffee and nice beer selection. We also got carry out from Potjanee (Thai) and had bagels from Bagels on the Square on the way to the subway station every morning. I fell in love with NYC during this trip and I plan to return soon, and will definitely try to stay here again!!

Great Apartment, Great Staff

  • 5 of 5

This was the best apartment in our three years of renting one for a month in the summer. It is roomy, well maintained, clean, and in the heart of the West Village. We counted over 20 restaurants on Carmine Street alone. It's close to the Hudson River Park and just about everything that the West Village has to offer. Luca, the contact person, John, the super, and his wife couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. We met Barbara, the owner, and found her to be a delight, as well. The subway sounds and feel, could possibly bother someone who was afraid of the subway or had never visited the city, but certainly didn't bother us a bit. In fact, over all , the apartment was rather quiet. The courtyard is a real bonus, with lovely plantings, and a great place for morning coffee. We highly recommend this apartment.

Fantastic Location, Amazing Neighbourhood

  • 5 of 5

Myself and two friends shared this lovely apartment for just under a week in mid October. As a former NYC resident, I was excited to visit the city again and stay in my favourite neighbourhood - the west village. This apartment was incredibly convenient with two subway stations within blocks, and walking distance from many fantastic shops, restaurants and places for delicious cocktails. We definitely noticed the subway rumble, but the location, the courtyard (which we retired to every evening and were very grateful for) and the wonderful hosts in John and Luca made this a great Airbnb find. Highly recommended.

Great find!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for two weeks in August and were extremely pleased. We wanted to be within walking distance of family nearby and we found the location wonderful. Great neighborhood. Subways nearby to make it easy to go up or downtown, Hudson River Park so close by to walk, picnic or bike, wonderful restaurants everywhere you look, shopping nearby. Great spot. The apt. was as advertised and very clean and John was nice and helpful. Subway vibration didn't bother us at all. Being downstairs off the courtyard eliminated any street noise and the apt was a nice oasis to come home to.
