About John Brunton
We are the third generation of our family to own and operate Hewitt House vacation rentals and pride ourselves in creating a vacation atmosphere that encourages people to return year after year.
John Brunton purchased this House in 1927
Why John Brunton chose Seaview
The Long Beach peninsula in SW Washington State is a popular vacation destination with it's unique features of beaches that can be driven on, pristine water, beautiful forests, historic Oysterville, excellent dining opportunities, clamming, fishing/crabbing, boating, kayaking, birding, hiking and lighthouses.
What makes this House unique
This home was originally built for Portland, OR stationer, J.K. Gill, as a summer home. It came into our family in 1927 and was extensively remodeled and upgraded in 1998 - 1999 by a local architect/builder keeping it's original style but adding more modern conveniences.

Cozy Beach Cottage with fireplace
Very helpful owner who responded quickly to text or email. Easy to check in and out. House was clean. Great location, sweet and tidy yard. So charming when we drove up. Kitchen is well supplied. Although I knew from the description that all beds were full size, full size is small for a couple. We aren’t big people, it was small ( we sleep on a king at home). The furniture in the living room were period pieces that look ok with the house but we found them to not be comfortable and the sofa low to the ground when you sat down. the occasional chair had lost most of their Cush. At the end of a day biking and beach combing I’d appreciate a comfy place to sit and read. Over all I liked it very much
Spring at the Beach
Four women friends biking had a wonderful stay at Hewitt house. Perfect location! Everything you need is right there.
Outstanding Famiy Cottage
My mom and I took my 8 year old boys here for a long weekend over spring break. The house was built in 1887 but has been completely remodeled and has all the comforts of home. Everything is beautifully organized and you’re right by the beach. We’ll definitely look to stay here again!
Thanks, Ian Thank you for your reservation and for trusting us with your family vacation! It has been a joy to carry on the third generation of Hewitt House vacation rental ownership. We continue to update and upgrade our homes to do everything possible to make them a place that people like you will want to come back to time and again as so many of our guests do.
Always enjoy our stay at the Hewitt House.
Great, but wasn't aware of the sharing thing.
we enjoyed our stay. We didn't do enough research though. I didn't see the little place in front of us and didn't know we were sharing a bath. Also, it was odd putting our garbage in the can in front of their window. Otherwise it was a great week.
Thank you for your reservation and for your feedback. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay in our home. We provide information on our webpage to make every attempt to accurately represent our features and limitations so as to give potential guests the opportunity to decide if our homes will meet their needs and expectations before making a reservation.
The "extra" (2nd) bathroom is indeed shared with our other rental which is delineated on our webpage. We will review the language and ascertain if that can be made more clear.
It does sound like you enjoyed our gas fireplace, spacious living room, well appointed kitchen, fenced yard, close proximity to the beach/restaurants/shopping, off-street, lighted parking and the quiet neighborhood.
Thank you again for your reservation and feedback. We do not take either for granted and are constantly striving to make the best vacation experience possible for our guests.
Wonderfully clean and comfortable. Loved the gas fireplace. Beds were great.
Thanks, Shannon. We always appreciate feedback and love to hear when guests enjoy our homes. We really try to provide a warm, clean and welcoming home and are grateful for your positive experience. We hope to see you back soon!
