The Creekside House at Mason Creek Estates is located in a quiet neighborhood across from Mason Creek. Mason Creek has direct access to the Gulf and Homosassa River. The house sits on a half acre of beautiful landscaped property loaded with native shade trees. A circle driveway leads to undercover parking. There is separate parking for your boat trailer. The two story completely furnished home has a large inlaid tile sun room leading into an open plan living area which includes a fireplace, cathedral ceiling, leather furniture and beautiful custom artwork. There are two bedrooms and two baths upstairs. The downstairs Captains Quarters; an efficiency room with leather couches; large screen TV; queen futon bed; small fridge; microwave; and coffee pot.

Dock privileges and moorage are located at our private dock across the street, 100 steps from the house. Kayaks and canoes are available for your use and launched at the dock. Watch the sunset from our sunset deck. Gather for an evening fire at the Creekside outside fire pit, wood included. Take a bike ride in the neighborhood, bicycles are included.

The kitchen - dining area is fully equipped and includes all necessities in a large kitchen, glass dining room table, kitchen counter seating and tile floors. The master bedroom has a marble bath (floors), king size bed, a super size walk-in closet, and a private deck. The guest bedroom has a queen bed and a marble bath (floors). An air mattress is available if needed.

The Mason Creek Boat ramp is 4 blocks away. Mason Creek has direct access to the Homosassa River and the Gulf (avoid all river traffic). We are available to discuss or show you route(s) from Mason Creek to the Gulf or river. We don't recommend boats that draw more then 3 feet of water in the Mason Creek waterway. McRays boat ramp on the Homosassa River is 2 miles from the house and has deep water access to the Gulf.

Old Homosassa is a quaint Florida Village on Florida's Nature Coast located 60 miles north of the Tampa Airport. The area is known for the spring fed Homosassa River, Halls River, and Mason Creek, which leads into Homosassa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. The area's waterways are home to a large diversity of wildlife including manatees, river otters, porpoise, and many species of birds, fish and shell fish native to the west coast of Florida.

Old Homosassa still retains the charm of a river village setting with riverfront restaurants, art galleries, fresh seafood shops, and of course a few old time honky tonks for evening entertainment. The annual Seafood Festivals draws talented artists and thousands of visitors.

Activities in the area include excellent fishing, scalloping, swimming, biking, boating, kayaking, canoeing, bird watching and just enjoying the local rivers, Chassahowitzka National Wildlife Refuge and Withlacoochee State Forest all one half mile from Mason Creek Launch Ramp and the Creekside House available for rent. The Mason Creek launch ramp is three blocks from the Creekside House. Water access ,dock privileges, and moorage are available at our private dock across the street from the Creekside House.

Visit Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park and the 'Fish Bowl' a floating underwater observatory. There are several golf courses in the local area.

Love the home, the area, and Rose and Captain Ron!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at this beautiful home, and we are already looking forward to next year's visit.

Last year upon arrival, Captain Ron personally took us on the water to guide us thru the shallow water shortcut to the open water, and this year he made sure we still remembered the route.

Plus, he provided us with the GPS coordinates and chart for the scallop hot spot!

Upon seeing us struggle with shucking our scallops, Rose not only offered up their new shaded "scallop hut", she also brought us ice AND stayed with us, shucking our scallops until we "got it"!

The Creekside house itself is very clean and very comfortable, with all the amenities you could ever need.

Love the area also. Good eatin'! Try STUMPKNOCKERS for a great dinner, BISCUIT BARN for a fantastic breakfast, and if you'd like some local flavor, GRUMPY GATOR bar and grill (good pizza).

We look for luxury at an affordable rate for our vacations, and certainly found it here!!!

Big THANK YOU to ROSE and CAPTAIN RON.

A little piece of paridise

  • 5 of 5

I can't say enough good things about this place and the owners Captain Ron and Rose. It is everything and more that you see. Beautiful, quaint, peacefu, the house is beautiful decorated and much thought has gone into everything to make it a home and so clean!!! Captain Ron and wife Rose are the definition of Southern hospitality . Thank you for a much needed and enjoyable mini vacation, just sitting on the sunset deck in the evening listening to the peace and quiet of nature was so refreshing and by the way we did awesome scalloping on Sunday got our limited and everyone had a blast. I tried your suggestion Rose and we had scallops with fettuccine Alfredo for dinner last night, out of this world! This is a keeper and we will return again!

Creekside House

  • 5 of 5

The property was exactly as described and pictured. The house is well furnished, the beds comfortable. The bottom floor apartment is a real plus - was able to use it as a man cave and luckily didn't have to listen to the usual 'sports' stuff all day and evening! My teenage grandkids loved having their own apartment. Rose and Capt. Ron were very helpful - from fixing internet to helping with a bike, they were great. The area is definitely 'old Florida', quiet, not built up. Kayaking was great Ron was very helpful in getting us set up with the boats and fishing gear. The local fish market had some of the best fish we have had - the grouper in particular - don't leave without getting some fresh fish to grill at home. We really enjoyed our 2 weeks plus - it was restful and I really enjoyed getting away from it all. Again, thanks for your hospitality and letting us enjoy your home.

Barbara Larson.

Creekside House is great!

  • 4 of 5

Rose and Captain Ron make you feel like family. They were super accomodating! The house was great for 5 of us. ..didn't even need the Captain's quarters unless we needed the kids to retreat there! The only reason the experience rated a three was because we didn't get to go scalloping due to three days of inclement weather. ...obviously not the fault of the owners :) They did recommend other things to do and we went to Rainbow River, a beautiful spot we probably would have never found on our own. Thanks Rose and Ron...hopefully we'll see you again and catch those scallops! Coleen V. - Ponte Vedra, FL

5 star review for our 5 star hosts

  • 5 of 5

What a great stay! Rose and Captain Ron are fantastic hosts with a beautiful home well equipt with all the amenities and comforts you need for a fantastic family vacation.

Captain Ron personally showed us the water route to the river AND the shallow water shortcut to the open water.

We booked our stay for next year BEFORE leaving this one!

To Rose and Ron, on behalf of the whole family, thanks for everything, and looking forward to seeing you next year.

P.s. Have breakfast at the Biscuit barn, and dinner at Stumpknockers, trust me.
