Fun house for groups!

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I stayed at this house and we had a blast! House is huge, lots of area to hang out in. We had a lot of guys and only a few couples, so not everyone had a bed, but that was by our choice. Driveway can be a little slick in the winter since it is downgrade, so recommend have a truck or car with all wheel drive. Owner was very responsive when booking and checking in/out. Everyone knows about the "Racquetball house" in Killington. The drivers who picked us up to go to the bars knew exactly where it was and it is known in the circles, for the right reasons. It is super close to the lifts and the bars / restaurants. Hot tub was ready to go, a must have up in Killington. We were able to put the keg on the deck and with the high ceilings the music was pumping. I would definitely stay here again, without hesitation. Looking forward to doing it again next year!

Hands down, one of best places to book in Killington

  • 5 of 5

If you're looking for a spacious, clean, fun and nice place to stay in Killington, the Racquetball house is your place. Simply put, the house was pristine clean when we arrived and has everything you need to make a week, night or weekend enjoyable. The Racquetball court added a whole new dimension of awesomeness, it was in great condition and easy to use when we got there. The location is right near all of the downtown bars and nightlife which made it quite easy to get to the bars. The hot tub was clean upon arrival as well. I would definitely recommend this place to any decent sized group of people (10-20) that want an enjoyable time in Killington. Again, simply superb house kept in great condition.

3 years in a row of excellence

  • 5 of 5

This winter will be our groups 5th in a row renting at Killington, 3 of those were at the Racquetball House. We've always found the house in great condition and enjoyed our stay every time! The house is clean and can accommodate our group with no problems.

The only time we've ever had a little issue was the first year when we arrived the hottub wasn't ready. Within 2 hours after we contacted the owner/manager there was a guy who drained, cleaned, and refilled the hot tub and it was ready for us to use that very night. Very expedient and personable service provided by the owners.

Huge perks:

Racquetball Court

Fireplace

Hot tub

Open living space

Private quarters

Cons:

Steep driveway for us city folk

Could be more 'stuff' in the way of kitchen equipment and things like racquetballs, racquets, dodgeballs, etc. but we've been bringing our own.

Great House, Location, and Weekend!!!

  • 5 of 5

I've been renting this house for 3 years now and every year it gets better. The house sits in a great location tucked away from the access road, but close enough to the mt. to beat the morning rush for first run. The house has all the amenities you would want in a weekend getaway in any season. The owners have always been accommodating and flexible as well as timely with returning our deposit in full.

Great House, Poor/Unresponsive Management

  • 2 of 5

Our group stayed over Superbowl Weekend 2013. We really enjoyed the very spacious house, the amenities it had to offer and the great location (right on the mountain and mere minutes from the slopes/restaurants/bars/stores). Our stay was excellent; our experience with owner/management communication was not.

Shortly after our arrival we inspected the house and sent an email regarding any issues we could find. As the weekend went on and we came across other things - that we should have been notified of prior to arrival and that were impossible for a group unfamiliar with the house to notice right away - we were able to contact them only one more time and then not at all. A week after departure we were sent the damage report and were shocked to see that we were being charged for the pre-existing items we had emailed/spoke to them about, the items we tried to notify them about as the weekend progressed, and most importantly items that would normally be considered completely typical house usage (ex: towels, dishwasher and firewood). We were also charged for using the last of the available firewood despite the fact we were ensured a delivery of more was on the way (it never arrived). Our response to the damage report was disregarded and never addressed, with only a portion of the deposit being sent back. When we could get in touch with someone post-departure, we were never given a straight answer as to what was going on. In addition, when we asked for pictures as proof of the damage (which we were told existed), we were never provided any. We were not "rough" with the house in any way, it just seems like we were the first ones to be pinned for items that were previously damaged/already in the process of falling apart. Imagine staying at a hotel, repeatedly trying to reach management and then being charged for the amenities you used and the problems you encountered. Of course we used what we were provided with - we showered (and couldn't even wash the towels since the washer was not working properly), we cleaned our dishes and left a small final load running as we departed (instead of leaving a pile of dirty ones) and used the available wood for the living room fireplace.

Once again, we thought the house was great - but could not see us renting it again based on such poor communication issues and the pettiness that we subsequently encountered. If you plan on staying here, be VERY thorough with your house inspection or ask to be provided with one.

Owner's Response: We're glad you enjoyed your stay at the Racquetball House. Unfortunately, after 13 years of renting our house, it's inevitable we occasionally come across tenants who leave the house with incremental damages and disorder and it's unfortunate that we couldn't arrive at a final disposition to the property manager's inspection which suited you. We're comforted by our high return rate and wish you all the best at other homes in the future.

Very nice week of skiing and boarding

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at the racquetball house. The snow removal service worked very hard to keep the house usable and our group of 10 had a great time enjoying the house and the area when we weren't on the mountain - as we were lucky to be in town during a big snowstorm. The owners were very responsive and have communicated very well with us. This is the 9th year we have rented a house for a week for a ski vacation and this year went very smoothly in our first time at the racquetball house... We enjoyed the outdoor hot tub, the sauna and everything else the house had to offer. The driveway was a bit steep, but our 2wheel drive GMC terrain was able to stay in the side lot up the driveway a bit to make their time easier. My f350 diesel and a 4 wheel drive suv had no problem with the driveway right up to the house.
