Great for a ski weekend, good location, totally suitable.
Enjoyed the quick stay. Was a good location for snowboarding and had all we needed.
Does the job clean and in good repair
Slightly dated decor. Couch is well used lacking support. Did not realize because I did not book through Snowshoe I am not eligible to use the hot tub and large pool in center of Village. Occurred a fee of 10 and $15 per person for usage. Got charged a damage charge of $34. Not sure what it's for. But all in all it's a clean and usable place with comfortable beds. Update to contact the trailer the charges for credit card fee that's passed on from vacation rental by owner. If you contact her directly you can avoid this fee as well as the service fee on the contract. I highly recommend that.
Great little get away ski weekend
Shirley was great to work with. Access was easy. Room met expectations. Kids all had a great weekend on the slopes. What more can you ask for
We were a little disappointed when we first arrived as the condo is incredibly basic, a throw rug is ripped, the dishwasher wasn't run, the DVD player wasn't working, and the bunk beads are long enough, but they are incredibly narrow (my 16 year old slept in it, but wasn't thrilled about it). There are two closets that are jammed packed with a vacuum cleaner, a vacuum cleaner box (??), and a bunch of other junk rendering them more or less unusable. There's also silly things taking up table top space (the owner must like ducks) leaving you very little space to put anything. These were little things that I felt easily could and should have been taken care of to make the condo much nicer and more usable. That having been said, the condo is totally adequate and will meet the needs of a family of 4 well (smaller kids would be better). There is a large balcony where you can put suitcases, skis when not in use, and coolers. We cooked dinner several nights and it was no problem - kitchen has what you need. The shuttle comes right in front of the building, so if you don't feel like schlepping to/from the Soaring Eagle lift with your gear, the shuttle bus is a nice option. We liked it in the afternoon after we'd been for apres ski drinks at Torque's. The condo is incredibly quiet, much more so than other places we've stayed in the past. The hot tubs don't get all that warm, but worked for my kids.
Things to note: Truly bring everything. We thought we had, but there were not enough dishwasher pods, the toilet paper provided is so cheap that it gets stuck to the side of the toilet after the bathroom is a bit steamy from a shower and becomes a sodden mess. Best things I brought were paper towels, my own sponge, chlorox wipes and Kleenex. I wish I had also brought toilet paper. I also suggest bringing small bars of soaps for the full and half bath to wash your hands.
The closet has been cleaned out and a new flat screen TV and DVD player have been installed.
The owner is purchasing a new sofa sleeper.
The bunk beds are long and narrow.
I have many guests who request this unit that have booked the one bedroom units previously.
Location is the best feature
I found the owner Shirley to be very responsive to questions and booking the condo. The location is fantastic, a short walk to Soaring Eagle and the shuttle picks up and drops off right by the lobby. The condo isn't fancy but well appointed.
The sleeping accommodations however were not fairly representated in my opinion. I travelled with four 13-15 yo boys who range from 5''3" - 6". The bunk beds are not twin size. They are closer to a cot size with a 3" pad to sleep on. Only one of the boys could fit. The pull out couch has The most beat up and uncomfortable mattress I've ever seen. All four corners pop up at different angles. Three of the boys slept on the floor, not exactly what I had imagined when I planned this trip or especially for the amount of money I paid. There were plenty of blankets and comforters so we laid them out on the floor to create a more comfortable place to sleep. Since we drove, I could have brought air mattresses from home and everyone would have been much happier. The queen bed in the bedroom was nice and comfortable. Shirley wasn't very responsive however when I expressed my displeasure at the sleeping arrangements.
The owners are purchasing a new sleeper sofa. I have managed this condo for over 10 years. This is the 1st negative comment concerning bunk beds.
Great condo to stay in
The bunk beds are a little small for adults, but everything else was perfect. Easy access to mountain, clean condo and facility, hot tub worked great, would return for another ski trip, thanks!
