Strawberry Hill Cabin sits high on a bluff overlooking Grand Traverse Bay with stairs down to a wild stretch of secluded sandy shore. Furnishings are refined with an eye to comfort.
The setting is rustic & natural. Views across water, woods and orchards are expansive.
The shallow shelf along this stretch of coastline invites walking far out into the clear fresh water of the bay: a great place to soak and swim.
For all the sense one has of being tucked away in rural beauty, opportunities abound for entertainment and exploration. Suttons Bay is nearby, and Traverse minutes away down the coast.
The immediate area offers vineyards with wine-tasting facilities, food establishments offering diverse culinary indulgences, golf courses, village boutiques, movie theaters, bistros, barrooms, and boat yards ... not to mention dunes and nature trails.
Biking is understandably popular. The Leelanau Trail (paved bike route through rolling meadows and orchards) is within riding distance. Bike rental in the village.
Receipt of payment in full at booking secures a reservation.
Check-in is after 3pm and before 8 pm.
Check-out on day of departure is by 11 am.
Keywords: Sunrise over water, sunset beyond cherry trees. Relaxed setting. Comfort & simplicity.
Formerly part of my grandparent's strawberry farm, this rural hilltop retreat offers a north woods getaway amid the readily accessible delights of Suttons Bay, Leelanau County, Traverse City, and the greater Grand Traverse Bay region.
Cindy purchased this cabin in 1946

This was our first visit to the Leelenau and our stay at the cabin at Strawberry Hill was the perfect launch. Quiet, great for heading out on bikes, walks, close to great food and, oh, the awesome bay. It was a wonderful spot to begin exploring the area. We especially appreciated Cindy's many great suggestions. Lovely place!
Two Gal Friends enjoying our Northern Michigan and all it has to offer was made so much nicer staying at this easy to find, great location, darling as could be and so cozy Strawberry Hill. Loved my sweet twin bed! Cindy, the owner, was a great welcomer along with great suggestions of fine places to eat. The pictures are a true representation of the place...but it is actually nicer than they show. Not saying it would not be an awesome romantic getaway. You would just have to manage the two twin bed scene.
Wonderfully relaxing, peaceful, and the view can't be beat! The cottage had everything you need.
Perfectly secluded and relaxing, but near dozens of vineyards, a large harbor that connects to Lake Michigan and a 45 minute drive to Sleeping Bear Dunes. The place is fully equipped (dishes, salt & pepper, a refrigerator) with all of the stuff you want when you're travelling.
WE'VE RENTED CABINS THROUGHOUT ALL PARTS OF MICHIGAN,BUT I HAVE TO SAY THIS WAS THE BEST BY FAR. THE VIEWS WERE BREATHTAKING,THE CABIN WAS COZY & IT WAS A NICE CHANGE OF PACE TO BE TELEVISION FREE FOR A FEW DAYS( MINUS MY CELL PHONE). THE TOP OF THE HILL WAS MUCH HIGHER THAN I THOUGHT & IT MADE WAY FOR SOME BEAUTIFUL SUNRISES & PICTURES OF THE BAY. SPENT TIME IN TRAVERSE CITY & SUTTONS BAY & MET MANY FRIENDLY PEOPLE IN BOTH AREAS. THE CABINS BEACHFRONT WAS A LITTLE LIKE STEPPING IN QUICKSAND BUT WE DIDN'T MIND DUE TO THE WATERS WARM TEMP FROM THE SHALLOW SHELF THAT LETS YOU WALK OUT ABOUT A HALF MILE BEFORE IT STARTS GETTING DEEP. ALL & ALL,CINDY(THE OWNER) WAS HARDLY SEEN & I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS CABIN FOR ANYONE THATS LOOKING FOR BEAUTY,NATURE,WILDLIFE,REST & RELAXATION, & PEACE & QUIET! WE MOST DEFINITELY WILL BE MAKING A RETURN VISIT IN THE FUTURE....THANKS FOR HAVING US CINDY! TONY & DEBBIE
We arrived late in the afternoon and let ourselves in. The owner came over later ( she stayed in the cottage next to us) to say hello and gave us some blankets in case it became cold. We loved the cute cottage and the decorations. We wished there was one bed for us to sleep in instead of two twins but I knew that going in. The view from the back yard is amazing and overlooks Sutton's Bay and you can walk down a steep staircase to a stoney beach area. We didn't hear much noise while we there and it was pretty quiet. We did go into town quite a bit (drive or an 20/30 min bike ride). Some of the windows didn't have curtains so Im glad nobody else walked by when I was changing but for the most part there privacy. I loved the sun room with the daybed and cute antique table. I would recommend this place to a couple who wanted a beautiful view of the lake and some peace and quiet.
