Welcome to Talbot Way Cottage! Beautiful water views from every room, wood floors, open-beam ceilings, huge fireplace, wrap-around deck. This house is intimate and romantic while the views on all sides bring in the outdoors and give it an expansive feel. The view looks across the harbor to a state park with woods and meadows. You can watch sailboats and fishing vessels as the tide comes and goes. The sunrise sparkles on the water and the sunsets turn it a deep pink. This private view is constantly changing and is so relaxing to watch! The cottage has a dishwasher, in-sink disposal, ice maker, washer and dryer. There are two new televisions, cable, 2 DVD players, book and movie library, board games, and free WI-FI. Seasoned firewood is provided. There is no hotel in the area with accommodations like this! Enjoy the excellent snowshoeing and cross-country skiing in the area. Lobster is available year round.
We provide kayaks, bikes and snow shoes. We can help you arrange your touring activities. The area provides infinite possibilities for the nature lover, boater, historian, art lover, birdwatcher, stargazer, golfer or shopper. We can help you arrange lighthouse trips, eco-tours, lobster bakes on islands, whale-watching, kayaking, rafting, farm visits, museum trips, windjammer cruises, drives to the mountains, berry or apple picking, skeet shooting, archery, hiking and catered meals at the cottage. You can walk to a dock-side lobster and clam restaurant.
There is something to do every season, lots of different kinds of restaurants and shopping. This cottage is 5 minutes from the famous LL Bean store (open 24 hours) and surrounding outlets and art galleries. We also live nearby and one of us is usually in the area so you can be sure to be well accommodated. We can help with rental car arrangements, trip planning, provisioning ahead of time (just email your shopping list) and anything else you might need. Our cottage is our favorite place in the world and we want it to be your's too!

Our second time staying at this cottage on the ocean for a work retreat and it is perfect! Ideal location, adorable rooms, plenty of space and owners are very accommodating.
My family and I were lucky enough to spend Easter weekend at this lovely home. We enjoyed it so much that as soon as we left, we booked it for Thanksgiving as well! It is a wonderful, cozy home to return to after a day of shopping in town, or hiking at Wolfe's Neck, both of which are within minutes of the property. Some of our favorite features of this home are the beautiful view, the quality linens, the hot hot showers, and the friendly owner.
Thank you for another lovely stay. We hope we will be able to return soon!
This vacation home has a great view of the water. It would be nice if there were two full size beds instead of twin beds in the third bedroom upstairs. That would make it more compatible for different types of guests staying at the property.
Two families and friends stayed in this cottage for a whole week in preparation for the marriage of our son to a lovely young lady from Maine. It suited our purposed fabulously and while close to other homes, was set down on the water where no one bothered anyone else. The views outside of eaach window are better than beach cottages we have stayed at and the cool morning air was wonderful. The deck affords great views of the tidal river and boats moored further out. We had a large family gathering on Thursday evening and everyone was well accommodated. The fourth bedroom/den downstairs with the television and dvd player was a perfect getaway for my grandson. My son used the grounds for the groom preparation photos. The beauty of the cottage grounds will definitely enhance those photos. I highly recommend this cottage as the perfect setting for a trip to the Freeport-Portland area of Maine.
Three generations gathered in this lovely cottage to celebrate a college graduation, and it couldn't have been a better spot. The cottage hugs the water's edge, and the views are amazing, with dramatic tides, boats at their moorings and a state park across the way. The cottage is nestled in tall trees, and while neighbors might seem close by, you would never know it. A beautiful naturalized garden was filled with bluebells and lily-of-the-valley. The cottage is well-fitted (the nice quality sheets and towels were much appreciated) and very comfortable, and easily managed our family of 8. There are views of the water from every room!
We held a party for about 40 people one evening which worked beautifully, with people gathered up on the deck as well as at tables in the garden and around the fire pit. Everyone who arrived was taken with the house and its situation.
This location was just perfect for us: easy access to Brunswick and Freeport, and still a real Maine waterfront cottage experience. It was a busy, busy 5 days, but some of us squeezed in shopping in Freeport (only a few minutes away so a quick trip works) and some had time to sit on the deck with coffee and a book and take in the view.
Susan was so helpful in every way, especially when it came to the party and to accommodations for our elderly grandparents. And directions on managing things in the house are clear and thorough.
We feel so lucky to have found Talbot Way Cottage and to have made such happy memories here.
