Property was very clean and well maintained. No major issues were encountered during our stay, minor issues were immediately and professionally resolved (gas grill ran out of propane). The web app was great for information and communication. We love going to the Currituck Club and Summerland was a nice change from our usual location. Nice sized pool and hot tub for 6-8 people. Nice amenities, kitchen supplies were great, cable, wifi, games and sound systems and TVs were great. All Bathrooms were clean and average size. Minor item to note that 1 of 5 bathrooms was aging and seemed in need of updating.
This is the 4th year that our family has stayed at Summerland, and we are never disappointed. The house is large enough to accommodate all ten of us very comfortably. There are plenty of private areas, as well as wonderful gathering spaces for everyone to be together.
The house has always been very clean upon our arrival. It is a beautiful place in a picturesque setting. This particular trip especially, we used the kitchen quite a lot -- we found it to be very well supplied with cooking items.
The highlight of our stay was the use of the backyard pool. The kids especially loved it, from early morning to late evening! The adults enjoyed it very much as well --- along with the spacious hot tub, which appeared to be new.
Getting to the beach is easy -- just a short walk to the end of the street to the free Trolley stop, and you are on the sand in about 10 - 15 minutes. I'd suggest this means of going there, since the beach parking lot fills up quickly.
Again, we had another wonderful time at Summerland, and plan to return there on our next trip to the Outer Banks.
We loved Summerland! We knew it had all the bedrooms and baths we needed for our family vacation. The added bonus was the privacy of the pool and home...with woods on the right and woods/pond in the back, no one could see in the pool area while we were relaxing. We also saw loads of wildlife. A mama deer and her fawn visited daily. We could hear the bullfrogs in the pond. Inside the home, there were plenty of living areas to spread out in. We had eight adults and one three year old, so it was nice for the couples to be able to play pool downstairs or watch a movie in the downstairs living area. There were two full sized refrigerators and a college dorm sized refrig...plenty of room for adult beverages! There were multiple bikes, beach chairs, boogie boards and more. The kitchen was well outfitted for lots of cooking and baking. We loved the large kitchen table that allowed us all to having family dinners every night. The amenities of the community were also appreciated...biking/walking trails, tennis courts, kids playground, basketball, shuffleboard and bocci ball. Convenient to shopping and much more.We would definitely rent this home again when we return to Corolla.
Just read the last review from an obviously disgruntled and bitter vacationer. My advice..stay in W. VA and chill out! Did we stay at the same home as you?? Summerland is wonderful! The home's floor plan, furnishings and amenities were all great. Kitchens and baths well-maintained and upgraded. The large and well-maintained pool and hot tub were extra bonuses after long relaxing days on the beach. Can't say enough about this place and how much we enjoyed it! Highly recommend. Thanks so much to the Paramount team. They're great! Can't wait to rent with you again and enjoy another great visit at wonderful Summerland!
Currituck Club is beautiful, but I can't say as much for this house. It was very dirty and the furniture in the living room was worn out and very uncomfortable. The virtual tour pictures need to be updated to show how worn everything in this house is! The pots and pans were well used, put away with burnt food stuck on them. We scoured them, but they just were to old to use. No serving bowls to meet our needs, not even a spatula! The carpet on the staircase was very dirty, and cob webs hung on the living room ceiling. I called Paramount with my complaints and they sent two girls over to sanitize our bathrooms and straighten our beds (all the bed skirts hung torn and sloppy), but there was nothing they could do about the carpet. We have been coming to the OBX for 8 years and this is by far the worse place we have ever rented! When we pay this kind of money for one week, you expect better than what we got! Loved the club, but was very unhappy with this house. The pool table and the Ping-Pong table were also in poor shape. Very well used. My family was very sweet about the dirt and quality of this home so we made the best of it by staying out more than staying home. The TV's in each bedroom were very small and we only had one DVD player that worked. There were several light bulbs out and no garbage disposal. Guess I should stop, but all of this really was a damper on our family vacation.
Very nice community, would stay at the Currituck club, again..loved all the amenities...
I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
I was more than happy with the location.
The vacation rental was somewhat dirty.
The property manager was more than helpful.
Overall, I recommend this vacation rental.
The Summerland home was a great fit for our family vacation with 6 adults and 2 toddlers. We much enjoyed the use of the private pool and hot tub. The home was comfortable and I would recommend it; however, I would also urge the owner/management company to elect a better cleaning service and to update and upgrade some items in and around the home. Specifically, the chaise lounges by the pool. Many were discovered worn thin or broken (my brother's foot actually went through one!). Lights were out in several rooms and our grill was out of gas. I let the management company know of these things and to their credit they came out within a day to replace the light bulbs, remove the broken lounges, and was advised we would be reimbursed for the grill gas tank. All good measures but it would be better if measures were taken in a more proactive manner. In any case, the home is otherwise nice and the Currituck club area and services are wonderful. Some added attention to these things could make this already good home great!
