linda gunshor purchased this townhome in 2007
We chose to buy our Townhouse in Basalt because of its great location in the Roaring Fork Valley, with easy access to Aspen and the ski areas, as well as the wonderful recreational, culinary and other resources from Basalt to Carbondale and beyond to Glenwood Springs.
I planned a birthday get away for my daughter who turned 18. We wanted to hit the Glenwood hot springs and hike hanging lake for sure, so we needed a place that was close. We were leaving from Colorado springs at 530pm after my daughter's basketball game so I wanted a place closer to Colorado springs because we were leaving so late. I assumed we could head through independence pass but didn't realize it was closed for the winter. So instead of shaving thirty minutes off my drive that night, I added forty five. My bad. It wasn't terrible, we finally showed up at the townhome at 930, we made some dinner on the grill and explored the townhome. It was just right for us. There was plenty of everything we needed, dishes, silverware, pans, laundry detergent, towels, blankets, bathrooms and room to stretch the family out. After being in the car four hours together we needed it. The place is clean and organized. On Sunday after our hike and soak in the hot springs we got to the home at six pm. We were able to relax, make some dinner, and watch some free on-demand movies on there nice flat screen TV, the radiant heat is very cozy too. The next morning we got up and headed to sunlight mountain for a day of skiing, it was a perfect end to a perfect birthday weekend for my daughter. Even if dad didn't realize independence pass was closed. I'm glad we found this place, thank you Linda
The condo is nice. Everything worked just fine and the layout is good. We had 4 guys and it was just roomy enough. The hot tub fits 2 people at time. The grill is large and worked great. Not close enough to walk to anything really, but the Roaring Fork river is pretty close. We came up to fish, so this place worked out great for us for the price. If it was more I would have gone elsewhere.
Our family of 4 (2 adults, 11&8 year olds) stayed at the Townhouse for nearly 2 weeks. What a wonderful place to call Temporary Home. The Townhouse was clean upon arrival and everything, including tips and tricks, was at our fingertips. Accommodations had all the linens and basics anyone could need, including condiments and paper towels! This made a huge difference for our extended stay--being able to cook and clean without emptying out the bank account on full-size supplies that we'll only use for a short period of time. Great for long-distance travelers who need a home base from which to explore. So much to do in this area, even though we return year after year to visit family. So close to the bike paths to Aspen and Glenwood, groceries, movies, shopping, etc!
Our family of 5 stayed in this condo for 4 nights, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The kitchen was well stocked, the condo was clean, and the location was great (close to both Aspen and Glenwood Springs). The hot tub was great after a long day of hiking near the Maroon Bells. Very quick response from Linda, as well. Will definitely try to stay here again on our future visits to Aspen.
We stayed in Linda's condo for a week of Masters racing in Buttermilk. The condo is nice, clean, and comfortable. Linda responded to every email very quickly. The place is conveniently located close to the highway, but far enough to avoid any traffic noise. We can highly recommend this place as an alternative to expensive lodging in Aspen, as it is less than 20 min drive to Snowmass, Buttermilk, Highlands, and Aspen.
We stayed here for a weekend and had a great stay. Linda was easy to communicate with, and was always quick to answer my questions. The townhouse was the perfect size for 5 people, and everything was clean and well maintained. I would definitely recommend this place to stay!
