Our House is located on the Eastcape on the Sea of Cortez. It is a stones throw away from the sand. Only an undeveloped lot is in front of you and the ocean, providing a full view. The only sounds you hear are the 'tweet-tweet' of the birds and the crash of the waves. If you are looking for peace and quite, this is the place for you! A 2 minute walk to the beach, you will most likely be the only ones on it for miles. This is truly our little piece of paradise.
We are located 5 miles south of Los Frailes, 6 miles south of Arbolitos (a beautiful snorkel bay where you can rent kayaks and snorkel gear, or just relax under a palapa), 10 miles south of Cabo Pulmo (where you can take fishing or diving tours, or rent water sport equipment. There are also several restaurants here), and 6 miles north of Las Vinoramos.
This is a true 'living off the grid' experience. Our home is powered by the sun and batteries. No hair dryers, curling irons or other high electricity consuming appliances can be used in the home, or permanent damage to the solar system will occur.
The main house has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a full kitchen, living room, and covered lanai/Ramada for dining. Two bedrooms have queen size beds and one has a full size bed. The house sleeps 6.
One of our favorite things to do is fill the bird bathes with water, pour a cup of coffee, sit down under the Ramada and watch the birds!... or hundreds of whales in the ocean! At night, use our telescope to view the millions of stars and moon from the patio on the roof. You can see for miles in all directions, the beauty and serenity of the Eastcape.

I bought the lot in 1994, and after paying it off, began construction and completion in 2004. Originally we planned on raising our family here full time, but later, because of other circumstances, decided to move back to San Diego and finish raising my children in the USA, and retire here afterwards. Our home is truly our little piece of paradise and when we are not here, we wish we were. We hope you enjoy our home and all that the Eastcape has to offer you while on vacation.
Randy purchased this house in 2004
This property is ideal for "getting away from it all." We were looking for a place that was off the grid so we could escape from our busy world for a week and this place certainly was perfect. Everything about the rental experience with the owners was easy. Prior to our arrival we were provided clear, comprehensive instructions on what to expect on arrival in San Jose del Cabo and how to get to the house.
We felt immediately "at home" and relaxed. It was well-appointed and everything was in good working order and it was very clean and spacious. The outdoor grill certainly came in handy and was almost brand new. The property manager was great to deal with.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and at this house. The view of the sun rising over the Sea of Cortez was truly remarkable. Right from under the Ramada, while having our morning coffee, we saw numerous whales breaching, dolphins, flying fish, and stingrays, in addition to the colorful birds that were enjoying the birdbath. Our entire experience was remarkable and we highly recommend this home to anyone.
We have rented this lovely house twice and look forward to our next stay. Totally recommended for those who seek a quiet spot to enjoy the ocean and all that the East Cape has to offer. The ramada covered patio is perfect for morning coffee while watching rays jump and boats passing and we have enjoyed being visited by hummingbirds and cardinals as well. The roof is perfect for spectacular sunrises and sunsets not to mention moonrises if you are lucky enough to be there during a full moon. The house is immaculate and everything works; has a full size refrigerator and excellent gas range in the fully equipped kitchen. The owners have been great to work with both times we visited. Miles of beach to walk on although not swimmable right at the house; however, it is a short drive to Los Frailes or Los Arbolitos for excellent swimming and snorkeling. This may not be the place for you if you love the club scene but if you want quiet and great natural beauty this is it. Highly recommended!!
And did not want to leave... This house is a gem, it is perfect. The location is excellent: secluded, unobstructed views of the sea and the beach. The house is well designed: the master bedroom faces the sea, you will be lulled asleep by the sound of the sea and woken up by the same gentle sounds (or in our case, by the kids who can't wait to take a walk and watch the sun rise - gorgeous) The house has all you need, the kitchen is well stocked, the beds are comfortable and the place is clean and well maintained. The property manager is the most helpful guy ever and will answer all your questions. There is plenty to do - there is a goat farm a few minutes away, snorkeling is a few miles away, there are wonderful beaches everywhere, or you can just sit on the patio and watch the sea. If you are looking to get away from it all, then this is the place for you! We will be back!!
We've done a fair bit of VRBO renting and it's rare that a rental exceeds our expectations, but this absolutely did! We loved the accommodations - it was clean, had everything we needed and was super comfortable. The view is breathtaking! There are miles of empty beach to walk and it's a short drive to the best snorkeling beaches. We watched whales from the awesome covered patio and were treated to the full moon rising over the Sea - AMAZING! It was quiet and so easy to unwind from everyday life - we didn't want to leave! Loved our time there and would go back in a heartbeat!
We absolutely loved our stay at this house. The location is very private, the house is excellent (clean, everything works great). The view of the full moon rising over the Sea of Cortez was truly remarkable. We saw whales breaching from the deck and oyster fishermen right out in front of the beach. We would definitely come back to this place!
My Gal and I stayed at this property on the East cape of Baja,And dollar for dollar it was the nicest place for a great value.I scourded the net for months. So dont waste the time like i did! It was the most relaxing time we have ever had! If you want Music at night and people parting all the night long, Go to cabo! But on Saturday evening you can go to the crossroads Resturant/Bar about 5 miles south and hear some good music and enjoy the view and mix with the low key friendly locals. The Food there is over priced and so so, but the view is killer. At the property all your going to hear here is the crashing of the waves all night long and some crazy birds in the morning. This House has everything you need, but bring your own food and drink, For good food go to Cabo Pulmo, they have fresh fish and great diving, and snorkleing, Its a short drive to the north and very pretty. The Deck above the house is the best spot for sunsets and sunrises! The beaches are empty and safe, we never even locked the house when we went beach exploreing, Super safe! The first thing my lady asked me is when we came home is< when can we go back> Very Romantic spot. Enjoy the real BAJA..RG
