The house is a romantic retreat 12 months out of the year (perfect for honeymooners). Every season offers something special in a really unique setting that is keyed in to the rhythm of the tides and the changing scenery and wildlife. Beaches and trails are plentiful as are excellent restaurants and cultural options.
We had a wonderful vacation. The location is perfect in every way: on an inlet, on a quiet street on Cape Ann. The house itself was well equipped with an updated well stocked kitchen, comfortably furnished living and dining room and relaxing bedrooms and baths. The views were breathtaking. The owners provided information on local attractions and restaurants and were available to answer questions. They also provided kayaks. Our children spent every moment they could rain or shine out on the dock fishing. I highly recommend this rental property.
This was only my third time renting via VRBO. My wife and I are familiar with this area and intrigued with the location. For us this was perfect. I could wake up in a wonderful home, with beautiful views, and walk to " Willows Rest" (wonderful spot/deli/coffee and great people) for my morning coffee and newspaper "hit". This is a special spot with a great (and methodical in detail) owner. I truly felt like I was visiting in a good friends home and felt great warmth and comfort.
What a wonderful, wonderful stay for the whole family (four of us with kids ages 6yrs and 8yrs). The house had everything we were looking for and more! Comfortable and tasteful rooms, well appointed kitchen (including a great espresso machine) and a great view looking over the private dock complete with kayaks. We loved paddling around the cove, sitting out on the deck and going for bike rides around Cape Ann. The access to Lighthouse Beach and Cambridge Beach were a real bonus and we will definitely be looking to rent this house again in the future.
Lovely riverside home. Everything was as described on the website and the home was beautifully maintained and very clean. Great floor plan - lots of living space and a fabulous kitchen. The owners were a delight to deal with and most accommodsating. A great place to either just relax or to make use of all the water sports equipment. Loads of porches etc to relax and watch life on the river. Gorgeous sunset skies. Serene with the stillness only broken by the sounds of wildlifefe.
Our favorite white tasblecloth spot was the Ocean View in "downtown" Rockport. The Lobster Trap in Folly Cove has either inside or ooutside dining at picnic tables. Great value and the food is very good in both restaurants.
We enjoyed a wonderful vacation in this lovely home! The house is perfectly comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. Our family of four loved swimming off the dock, kayaking, and the short walk to the beach. The owner is helpful, attentive, and welcoming. We hope to return another time soon!
We have stayed at this delightful cottage on numerous occasions in every season of the year. Each season brings different lighting, wildlife and recreational opportunities. Sunsets are a daily attraction Lovely walks through Dogtown woods or along the coast from your doorstep. Waterviews from every room and from porches along three sides of the cottage. On recent trip we saw seals, eiders, herons and a bald eagle. Well stocked kitchen. Dock provides swimming and kayaking opportunities.
My fiancee and I enjoyed the hiking and mountain biking trails accessible from the house. We also liked the road riding around Cape Ann through Rockport and Gloucester. The dock was a perfect place to hang out after a day out playing. It is a comfortable and nicely furnished place; it's easy to feel at home. A great get-a-way.
