My husband and I stayed here for a week in late September. We've always had great luck finding vacation homes through VRBO, but the Ballard House was by far one of the nicest places we've stayed. Don't be fooled by the unassuming look of the exterior - the home is beautifully decorated and in a great location. There's an antique/vintage store across the street, a coffee shop just a block away, and lots of restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. This was our first time in Door County, and Sturgeon Bay was a perfect "home base" for exploring the peninsula.
My family of 4 (1 teenager and 1 toddler) stayed here for a week. (We brought our own pack and play.) The house is decorated beautifully and in excellent condition - far above your typical vacation rental. The kitchen is lovely (which my own house was so nice!), well stocked and even includes appliances like a Kitchenaid mixer. The upstairs bathroom has a wonderful steam shower that I just loved. Geri is very easy to do business with.
Lovely home! Very relaxing. Great kitchen space for cooking. The bathrooms were spacious and shower was like a spa! The location was ideal. Shopping in uptown was fun and just a short drive from other quaint areas in Door County. We highly recommend The Ballard House.
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this lovely home in Sturgeon Bay! The home was well stocked with everything we needed for the week and had an awesome location as it was within a few blocks of the historic downtown district. The Sunflower bakery was right across the street and is ridiculously good! The 5th & Jefferson Coffee House was a block away too. Geri was very nice, has an absolutely lovely home & was a pleasure to work with! We are already looking forward to our next trip to Door County!
our stay was lovely.. The kitchen was very well equipped and the entire house was spotless. The beds were awesome. the house is literally right across the street from a bakery and best coffee shop in town. The only negative was the washer and dryer were in the basement.
This home was just perfect! Well appointed with all the details and very clean. We walked to downtown Sturgeon Bay for coffee in the morning and dinner at night, only 2 blks.
The owners also have a bed & breakfast place 1 street over. We were 2 couples over 60. Nice drive to all the towns up the thumb!
40 Miles from Green Bay.
Other Activities: Snowmobiling, boating, horseshoes, shopping, kayaking, paddle boarding, sailing and mini golf.
