This first floor condo is located in Heritage Oaks, a private, gated golf community in Sarasota. It sits on a small lake overlooking the women's tee box of the signature par-five 14th hole. It is spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated with fine furniture and fine art. There is plenty of sitting and entertainment room. In the living room there is a couch, a recliner, a chair with ottoman, and a 'stressless' chair and ottoman. The den contains two love seats and a desk.

The unit contains numerous extras not found in many rental units. These include: beach and pool towels, floats, chairs, and umbrellas; two bikes; a VCR, DVD, and TV in the living room and both bedrooms; DVR and HBO channels; an Ipod and a CD music system; a CD, DVD, and large book library; remote control ceiling fans and lights; starters for coffee and tea, spices; an abundance of cooking and utensils, grills, blenders, steamers, slow cooking crockpot, baking and roasting pans; fine dishes and glasses for entertaining; TV and serving tables; an office set up with broadband, wireless internet connection; lounge furniture and outdoor dining table and chairs on lanais; ceiling fan on lanai; cleaning and cooking basic supplies, brooms, mops, and vacuum cleaners; a sewing kit for emergency repairs; hair dryers in both bathrooms; an iron and ironing board, a clothes steamer, two full length mirrors, a make-up mirror; games, puzzles, cards; binders with restaurants and highlights of the area, recipe books,;flashlights.

The condo was repainted in 2011. Bedrooms were repainted in 2012. The kitchen was renovated and new carpet was installed throughout in 2011 In 2014, a new furnace and air to conditioner with programmable thermostat were installed. Lanai furniture was repainted in 2014. New decorations are added each year to keep the condo feeling new!

The one-time $200 (or $50 if in off season) membership fee provides access to community amenities. The 18 hole Azinger/Lewis designed private championship golf course is open seven days a week. (Fees vary per season.) Scheduling can done via a computerized phone call in, computer registration, or through the very friendly and helpful club house staff. The pros offer private and weekly group lessons, and they schedule numerous league, group, or tournament outings to supplement your individual games. There is an over water driving range, a chipping and sand practice area, and a large putting practice green.

During the months of May through October, your membership at the home course entitles you to access the pro's ability to get you on over 20 other nearby courses for very low fees. It's a wonderful opportunity to golf all of the Sarasota area inexpensively. During this off season, the transfer fee is reduced to $50.

Other amenities include four floodlit Har Tru tennis courts (with league and private play), walking trails, group-outings, and numerous club gatherings. Mixers, dinners, bingos, card games, and informal meeting at the new 19th hole/bar/causal dining area guarantee you will always have something to do. Formal dining is served in the main dining room also. The club house also has an airconditioned, fully equipped fitness center and the fitness staff host numerous fitness activities and classes both indoors and in the main pool. There is a hot tub nearby to take off the aches from all the activity. In addition to the main pool, there are four others in the community. The 'Bardmoor pool' is within 200 yards of front door of your condo, and it is full of friendly, fun-loving folks/neighbors with whom you will love to share your sunny days and pleasant evenings.

About Marty vowels

I am a single, retired middle-school principal from KY who then worked part time at the University of Louisville mentoring new teachers. As a result, my home-away-from-home is available for rental part of the year. I have furnished it to be stylish and filled with art and artifacts that make me smile. I have organized it to have all the comforts of casual living. Many of my renters have returned multiple years with one set returning for nine years. I love my time there on the golf course, in the pool or at the beach, and on the back lanai sitting and reading (or just sitting.) The city of Sarasota fills my shopping, dining, and artistic needs.

Why Marty vowels chose Sarasota

Sarasota is a wonderful city with plenty to do. I love the arts, and there is always some show or concert or art fair to attend. I love the cool sand of the Siesta Key beach and the fun atmosphere of the Sunday night drum gathering at sunset. Because I was divorced, I wanted to live in a community where I could meet good fun-loving, caring friends who would join me for a round of golf, a dinner at the club house, an evening sharing going out, a good conversation round the pool about a book or a movie, or laugh and share lies and stories. I found it at Heritage Oaks. Most of my renters return for the amenities of the condo and the fun of the people in our end of the community. I have called this place my second home for the last ten years and have been blessed with good renters who love it too.

What makes this condo unique

My condo has a great view and great neighbors. I have great views of the sunsets over the lake and the signature golf hole. My neighbors are kind, helpful, fun, and interesting. Those are the two most important aspects of its location. My condo is also close to the most fun pool, near the mailboxes and garbage dumpsters, close to the back entrance of the community, and close to the walking trail. These little things make such a difference to comfort and ease of living.

Unit contains two bikes, complete pool and beach supplies, great view of sunset over the water and golf course. During the late spring, summer, and fall months, other courses in the area are affordable. Tennis courts are also on site as is a fitness center. Lessons, groups, and individual use are available for all.

My wife and I had a brilliant four weeks stay in Marty's condo and have nothing but praise for the experience. Overlooking the fourteenth tee at Heritage Oaks the views are wonderful and the setting idyllic. The condo is very well equipped with all you could possibly need for a relaxing holiday. We can't wait to return next year. Thank you Marty.

Great Community

We were very impressed with the Heritage Oaks community. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We immediately were offered information on where to eat, shop, and tourist attractions from other visitors and owners. The golf course is one of the best we have played in Florida, challenging, but fair. The condo was very well equipped--so much more there than we needed for our one month stay-and the owner, who we met, was very accommodating and helpful.

A lovely home fro home!

We rented this delightful Condo for two whole months, Oct and Nov 2015 and had a wonderful time. This is our tenth year staying at Heritage Oaks and that says it all. The Owner, Marty is extremely helpful and very accommodating. The condo lacks for nothing and is very comfortable with several TVs and an array of books to read. The kitchen has everything you could possibly want and the living area is very spacious and very comfortable. We would thoroughly recommend a long stay here and have not one single quibble.

A beautiful condo and fabulous golfing community

We rented this cono for 4 weeks in the fall (Oct/Nov). The setting is very tranquil and very quiet.

During our stay we saw plenty of osprey and one very large American Eagle. We also saw alligators sunning themselves as we played golf.

Speaking of golf; Heritage Oaks has a fabulous golf course.

We enjoyed our stay so much we ended up purchasing our own condo. As new owners we look forward to spending many winters here.

To get a taste of what it is like to be here, be sure to rent this condo. The owner was great to work with.

Beautiful Condo on 14th Fairway Heritage Oaks

We rented this unit for 2 months in February and March 2011. The listing is very accurate for this beautiful condo. It was very clean and well maintained. The excellent scenic location on the 14th fairway was very enjoyable and relaxing and we spent many hours on the patio overlooking this area. The kitchen was well stocked and we enjoyed this unit and location very much.

Owner's Response: I am pleased that my renters loved my place as much as I do. One of my frequent renters calls it "our place." It does make you want to visit often. I suspect most renters use the kitchen much more than I do when I am there, but is stocked as if I were a gourmet cook. I prefer eating out in one of the many places Sarasota offers.

Best on the 14th Hole

we have enjoyed this escape for 9+ years and find it to be all the owner says. Never have had any problem. pools, tennis, golf , grounds, immaculate. I would advise the club dining is exceptional and recommend never missing Thursday night prime rib. The wildlife is exceptional expecially the birds. Excursions to local attractions such as st armands, venice, nokomis, farmers markets, beaches etc . entertain all ages. We love the Lanai and look forward to our 2011 visit!

Great community pool 1/2 block away with a folks who love to visit, golf together, and hang out at the pool. Sarasota is a wonderful arts community with numerous art shows, plays, concerts, etc. It has terrific restaurants in all price ranges downtown and on the water. Closeby St. Armand's Circle is a world renowned shopping area. An outlets mall is 20 minutes away.
