You will be staying in a fully furnished comfortable family home, a great enclosed front porch to sit and relax, It is located in a quiet residential neighborhood just a couple blocks from town with antique shops, restaurants, wineries.
makes a good base for exploring the area : we have had several people stay with us and make day trips to niagara falls, ski resorts, snowmobiling and fishing tournaments.
visiting relatives: works well for the family visits where you love them but dont necessarily want to stay with them, a more comfortable less expensive alternative to a hotel.
beautiful area to kick back and relax: you can do everything or nothing, there is something for every taste and interest close by.
Just two grandmas looking for a weekend of peace and quiet. LOVE the family and grandchildren but needed a little time to relax and get away for a couple days. We could not have found a better place to stay! Such a quaint little home, was like stepping back in time. We had to 'tour' the house when we first arrived, commenting about various antiques on display and furniture that reminded us of our childhoods. VERY comfy beds, which is rare, and a cozy little sunroom to sit and visit or read a book. The floors creak a LOT but we found it rather charming. Not sure a family with small children would feel the same however. Our hosts were on vacation so just spoke to Kevin by phone, but very friendly and engaging. The home as well as the neighborhood had a very cozy laid-back feel, the perfect retreat for a couple tired grandmas! :)
Excellent location. Comfortable home.
My daughter and I have just returned from spending a very pleasant Canadian Thanksgiving, American style, in Westfield, western New York State.
Our trip was planned late and spur-of-the-moment...but what fun we had. The house is old, but clean and well-equipped. The neighbourhood is quiet and the property meticulously maintained. For us, part of the charm of the experience rested with the absence of updating. It was like staying in the home of one's Victorian aunt, stereoscope included! The owners, while friendly, were also unintrusive. The only negative features of the house were a slightly malodourous front porch and back entrance/bathroom area. Not bad drains, exactly...but definitely something lingering. The other areas of the house were fine. The Victorian bed, while very comfortable, was also very creaky, so perhaps best left for a single visitor. The kitchen was delightful and I loved using the retro (but excellent) stove. The floors and area rugs were in great shape, but a wall-to-wall carpet replacement should perhaps be considered.
Westfield is a nice little town, very typical, with lots of interesting destinations, including Chautauqua and Lily Dale, only a scenic drive away.
Best of all, the cost of renting this property was reasonable. We'll be back!
Place was clean and adorable. Great for family getaway. Reasonably priced. We had a fabulous time. Centrally located for any day time adventure you have olanned.
This was our 3rd. year as a renter and though the fishing was not as good as usual, the atmosphere and hospitality was a great as ever. When you find something this good you
don't want to give it up and plan to be back to Westfield next year.
Thanks Kevin and Michele for everything.
Six of us traveled from Ohio to visit family in the Westfield area. The listing description for this house was spot on. It is a sweet old house which comfortably accomodated us without any problems. It was very clean and quiet. The owners, Kevin and Michele, were a delight & very helpful. They made our whirlwind trip a pleasure and hassle free.
