About Julie Enriques

Julie Enriques purchased this condo in 2010

Why Julie Enriques chose Ka'u District

We instantly fell in love with Punaluu for its remote, unique, relaxing and entertaining atmosphere. The area is serene, but centrally located in-between Kona and Hilo. The average rainfall is only 5 inches more yearly than Kona! The near by towns also have a lot to offer, including the Farmer's Markets, the Punaluu Sweetbread Bakery and other tourist attractions. The condo is built in the traditional Polynesian style. The pool area and Jacuzzi are wonderful! There are great seaside activities and the company is good. We couldn't ask for more, it's all there. Ladies this is the place for relaxation and romance! We love to walk on the Black Sands Beach where you are guaranteed to see the turtles basking in the sun.

What makes this condo unique

We love relaxing and dining outdoors on the private lanai. This front row unit has a partial ocean view and a stones throw from an 18 hole, 74 par golf course.

High Speed Internet in Unit

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you guys for the stay at the condo! We had a great time on the Island and really enjoyed staying here, it was amazing. This is the perfect location for exploring the Island. We loved the black sand beach and seeing turtles. We were so comfortable staying here and it had everything that we needed for our perfect vacation in paradise. We had such a great time and will definately recommend this condo to our friends. Thanks Again! Mahalo, Nick and Sharlenna

Totally Relaxing!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent his 60th birthday here and it was perfect. The place was cozy, clean, adorably decorated. It was close to the black sand beach where we walked, watching sea turtles every morning and a sunset every evening. We were close to the pristine pool and barbecue which we used nearly every night when we weren't eating on our personal patio and feeding the most colorful birds that I have ever seen. I can't wait to return!

Perfect Family Getaway!!

  • 5 of 5

The Hula Hut was the perfect stay for our family's Hawaiian experience. The location was ideal, in between Hilo and Kona, and so close to the Black Sands beach and Volcano National Park. The condo was a perfect size for our family of four (two small children), and even with one room, the kids were perfectly content and comfortable on the pullout couch and chair. The Hut was immaculately clean and convenient to cook and meet all the needs of the family. The area was quiet and seemed well managed, we especially loved the pool and BBQ area. We did not have any issues with WiFi, although we did not spend much time on the internet when there are so many things to see and do in Hawaii! Can't wait to go back!!

loud, dirty poor internet

  • 2 of 5

Being an owner of a rental property I must say this place needs a review of their cleaning personal which services these units. The location is great however when I brought up the cleanliness to

Julie O. she did not even respond to my email. Wifi is low signal, they should consider installing a bridge or turning on the modem wireless that is located inside the unit. The noise from upstairs will require earplugs especially if the people keep their shows on above you. When using the pool the bathroom door was locked, however the pool views and hot-tub were great. I respect that they have a smoking area however one so far away under a tree which can have many mosquitoes was not ideal.

Owner's Response: Aloha! I'm Not really sure how to respond to the last comment about unit 25! It almost seems like we may be talking about a different place, but I'll give it a shot just in case. . *Julie E. (not Julie O.) Our trusted and extremely reliable property manager, thoroughly inspected our unit before this guest arrived and reported it be "spotless" and never once, has she ever, not responded immediately to a phone call or email sent to her from us or a guest! . *I contacted, "Time Warner Cable" minutes after receiving the complaint that the WI-Fi was weak, but after checking it in their system they reported it to "have a strong signal" we just had a modem installed several months ago because of the poor corporate WI-FI signals and have had no complaints since then. It may be possible that the tenant tried to connect to a different unit? The modem is in our Unit and thumbs up on the strength and signal! *The smoking area does have a "Citronella" candle on the table to ward off any misquotes that might show up and is located under one of the most magnificent Banyon trees on the Island, and is just the right distance away from the other units. We (non- smokers ourselves) have spent many a late night just talking and visiting with neighbors underneath the tree, due to its peaceful and pristine location. *I have never personally payed much attention to our upstairs neighbors when they walk around, it is not always occupied, but then again it is Hawaii and much of our time is spent outside enjoying the Jacuzzi, pool, and BBQ and the stunning view from there, the perfect climate, the beautiful flora and fauna, the nearby Volcano National Park with Kilauea flowing lava , the breathtaking and mysterious ocean, our fun loving neighbors and of course each other. *My wife and I, both wild land firefighters, spend our vacation time each year rehabilitating and rejuvenating our "Condo," to assure that our guests are completely satisfied with our hospitality and low cost of this unit, so they too can share the full "Aloha spirit" and magnificence of the Big Island during their stay in the "Hula Hutt"! My hope is you will trust what I say and check it out for yourself! You will be very glad you did! Oh yes, I have added a photo of the smoking area tree for all to enjoy. Mahalo!.. Review of Sea Mountain Stay (9/28/12 - 10/4/2012)

  • 5 of 5

You might see a review from my wife as well. Very nice place and pretty much as advertised. Very good unit for 2 people but would be quite cramped for more than that. Well equiped unit with an easy walk to the pool area. Gas grills available as mentioned, easy to use. We cooked 4 dinners and had no trouble finding an open grill. Location is great for visiting black sand beach. About a 5-7 minute walk. Very pretty and we saw sea turtles every day in a little cove just before the beach and at the beach as well. As with previous reviews, location is definitely away from it all. If that is what you are looking for, this is the place. Would recommend doing grocery shopping in either Kona or Hilo. There are grocery stores about 10 minutes in each direction but pricey and limited selections. Internet connectivity is available but reliablity is directly related to distance from the office. This units connectivity is fair. I know this is vacation but searching for things to do via the web might require sitting outside the office :). Golf course is at the complex and i would give it mixed reviews. You can play for about $30 with cart but you get what you pay for. Several greens in rough conditions and not much fairway to speak of on many holes. There are several challenging holes and some great views. The course does not see a lot of action so getting on is not a challenge. It is a good way to start the morning. Volcanoe Golf and Country club is about 30-40 minutes away and is a great place to play.

Overall a very good place to stay with good access to other parts of the island.
