Mel purchased this Apartment in 2002
Why Mel chose Park Slope
Conveniently located in the center of Park Slope, the apartment is near many great restaurants, bars and local shops, and 2 different subway stations. Park Slope is a vibrant family neighborhood, populated by both longtime residents and more recent transplants. It's a real community where people know each other and help each other out, and is a great place to come home to after a day or a night out in Manhattan. The house was built in 1903 and retains most of its original features.

Garden flat in Brooklyn
Melissa was very nice and accommodated our check-in and check-out schedules. The place is as described in other reviews. The WiFi is really weak. It was not possible to stream video. Though we had some nice days weather-wise the garden was not in a shape to be used. Hopefully that would be different during the summer. We did have some/a few ants which Melissa was very apologetic about. They came from outside after a rain. Melissa came quickly to help get rid of them. Unfortunately, the solution was to treat the small bedroom with tea tree oil so that the whole apartment smelled like tea tree oil for a day.
But the beds were comfortable. The kitchen space was sweet and the bathroom, though small, was clean and worked well. There was good water pressure for the shower.
It is a great neighborhood. Easy to get to the F train, two blocks away, and so easy access to the City. It is only a short walk to the zoo and botanical gardens and lots of other Brooklyn attractions.
This apartment was a great choice for our stay! The apartment was nice and clean. The neighborhood was quiet with easy access to the subway to get us around town and there were great local places to eat. Mel was a wonderful hostess and the bed was comfy and the shower had fantastic pressure!
Only potential downside, if it is important to you, is the kitchen space. This is a converted area, so a hot plate, griddle and mini fridge are your options. It was no big deal to us as we were out from sunup to way past sundown exploring NYC, and like I said, there are great neighborhood places to eat.
We would definitely stay here again!
Nice apartment and neighborhood.
Lovely little apartment, with a lot of entertainment for kids, we all enjoyed it.
Super comfortable peaceful stay!
Awesome neighborhood and very homey apartment!
Great 2 bedroom apartment in Brooklyn
Stayed over Thanksgiving 11/19-11/23, great 2 bedroom apartment in Park Slope. Took our 8 year old on a trip to NY. Apartment was clean and very spacious and there was plenty of room to spread out, very comfortable beds and all the amenties you need. WiFi worked great and had no issues during the stay. Mel was a great host and was very accommodating, letting us leave our luggage at the apartment early and also checked in with us daily, even helping with some supplies when our son had a splinter in his foot. Apartment was maybe a few blocks from the subway and there were plenty of dining options around. We did not use the backyard but it looks like it would be a great place to have a coffee in the morning or relax in the evening. I’d definitely recommend this property to anyone looking, you will not be disappointed. Thanks again Mel for making our sons trip to NY memorable!
Spacious and quiet
Only one reservation about the property, which was the small bathroom. Otherwise a very good location.
