Holmes Beach Cottage Rental Photos and Description

Condo, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-6)

This cottage is located "on the beach" 3007 Avenue F, beautiful Holmes beach. It is the downstairs unit (1 of 2). The cottage is very comfortable and sleeps 4 comfortably with additional space for a pull-out. This quaint cottage is hidden away on a dead end street, away from it all yet close to shopping and restaurants.

It has a full shower/tub, kitchen with all that you need and a washer/dryer. It is very quaint and the grounds have beautiful exotic and tropical plants. You are only a few short steps to the beach which has the most beautiful blue water and sandy beaches.

There is a trolley that picks up throughout the day and evening one block away. The unit is centrally located between Cortez Beach and Anna Maria Island where there are shopping areas, the Ringling Brother's Museum, and many restaurants.

Come join us at Holmes Beach for the most beautiful sunset Florida has to offer!

If this unit is not available check the upstairs unit at http://www.vrbo.com/737839

Keywords: Beachhouse, condo, duplex, villa, beachfront rental

These are older units (built in the 50's) and we are continually updating the units but it is the beach and can be very humid. We have house keepers come at the beginning and end of each guest to cleaned and change the linens. On high humidity days the doors may be a little tighter and on dry days they will be lose. This unit in particular has brick walls and tends to trap humidity inside. Be sure to set the air conditioning units in "dry" mode when not in the unit and when departing. If this process is not followed it will smell damp. If you follow this simple process your stay will be very pleasant. Just some of the small issues that come from being directly on the beach in Florida. Can't beat the ocean views and the sunsets....

Why Mike & Kelley chose Holmes Beach

We chose to buy this unit due to the fact it was located directly on the beach and it was a small condo unit of 4. It was also a short distance from where we live and allowed us to get out of the city and relax. Holmes Beach is absolutely beautiful all year round.

What makes this cottage unique

We love relaxing on the beach and watching the evening sunsets. Mornings are usually filled with walks on the beach and collecting shells. We also love taking the trolley to Anna Maria island for dinner and shopping.

Fantastic location!

  • 3 of 5

The location right on the beach is perfection but the unit needs some serious updating. The beds are horrible, linens and towels reminded me of stuff that should be donated to goodwill. It is old and not well maintained. The air conditioner had issues during our stay but to their credit the owner reimbursed us for 2 days. They are super nice people and I think they are slowly updating so if that kind of stuff doesn't bother you then by all means rent this unit. The location right on the beach makes it worth it!!! And they allow pets!!!

Pelican Perch was the perfect quiet beach vacation spot!

  • 5 of 5

I almost don't want to write this review because I want my island escape to remain a secret! Pelican Perch was exactly as it was advertised. This rental was perfectly located on Holmes Beach. Easy to get to any of the attractions and activities. I wanted a quiet, true Florida beach vacation. Even on a busy Memorial Day weekend I felt as if I had my own private beach! The unit was clean and most everything one needed was provided such as beach towels, chairs etc. We had no problem with shower water temp as a previous reviewer mentioned nor a smell in the unit other than what one would expect from anything on a beach! AC worked perfectly and there was no dripping from any of the units. Kitchen was well stocked and it was nice to have a washer/dryer in the unit. The owner checked in to make sure all was well and it was. I especially loved that I walked out our door directly onto the sand path onto the beach. The only negative for us was the bed in the master bedroom...a new mattress and box springs would be nice. If you are looking for a no frills beach vacation rental Pelican Perch is the place to be.

Awesome Location on the beach

  • 5 of 5

We just spent 8 days in the condo. Now mind you it's not huge or brand new but it was very clean and they provided almost everything you could possibly need. Didn't have the problems with the shower from the earlier post and there were four of us. The owners were great and answered very quickly with any questions we had. They even let us use the two kayaks they have there for free which was awesome. For the location you couldn't beat the price. We came for the beach and it was beautiful. There is a little restaurant in a bait store called Annies just over the Cortez Bridge on the left. It is a little hole in the wall but they server the best fresh seafood and the prices are great, it's a local secret. Also across the street down 123rd is the Star fish market. Sat-Monday you can eat lunch out there by the water and they cook only the fresh fish they bring in. It's awesome, the rest of the week you can't eat there buy the market is open and you can buy fresh seafood there. It' a fun little island to hang out on. We didn't use the trolley because it was just as easy to drive. A little more traffic on the weekends but that's to be expected. Any way if your're looking for a great deal not fancy but clean and nice and an awesome location, this is the place.

Would not be my first choice.

  • 2 of 5

My fiancé and I came down here for a wedding and had chose this Condo to rent out. The pictures are not what it appeared to actually be. The patio table and chairs were filthy when we arrived. The water in the condo only stayed warm enough for 5 min then you were stuck taking a cold shower and the shower water didn't drain. The condo smelt like mold which was probably from the living room AC unit leaking water from it so bad that it was soaking their couch and pillows so we had to move the couch out and put towels down on their floor until the maintence guy came by 2 hours later to fix it so we waited until he was finished before we did anything for the day. there was a crack in the front door even when it was shut so a lot of bugs got in the condo. Both beds were very uncomfortable. The only thing that saved this place was the beautiful view and it being beach front.

Owner's Response: Its unfortunate it you weren't happy. I give each of our guest my cell number to text me with any issues. I received a text about the AC unit and had it fixed in a couple hours. We have someone in the unit now and said there are no problems. No smell, no drain problem and sleeping fine(two of the beds brand new). As with all houses owned and rentals small things happen and we stay ahead when possible and respond immediately when not possible to be proactive. We recently took these over and are continuing to improve them but we are sorry it didn't meet your expectations. Mike

fun in the sun

  • 5 of 5

Loved this private beach house ! Everything we needed was already provided. The owner was extremely helpful and nice. Loved having our own private beach with in feet of the house. Saw dolphins right in front of our beach twice . Beautiful waters and so much fun to be had locally , no matter what your looking for. Snorkeling at the sunken ruins was one of our favorite activities. Definitely coming back next year :)

We have a free trolley 2 blocks away - runs every 15 minutes taking you south towards Cortez Blvd. or North to Ana Maria Island - many shops and restaurants along the way - beautiful way to just get out and see the area. In walking distance we have Publix Grocery Store, Walgreens, Bank, Ace Hardware and several eating areas.....it is a place that you really don't need a vehicle - Being native Floridians we have traveled all over Florida and the beaches - swimming, fishing, etc. This area is one of the most beautiful in our opinion.
