This unit offers a fabulous view of the ocean and the local sea turtles in the reef below. The oceanfront sun deck is the ideal place to lounge with a book and a tropical drink, or relax and watch the sunset. November-March visitors often spy migrating humpback whales as they swim through the channel.

Your vacation home is decorated with classic island furnishings and reflects a casual aloha. The kitchen is fully equipped for making coffee or a three course meal. Dine inside or on the lanai while listening to island music. After dinner grab a book off the shelf and relax under the rustling palm trees. Games have also been provided for your entertainment. At days end, fall asleep to the whisper of the trade winds and gentle sound of the waves meeting the shore. Prior to arrival, your vacation home will be cleaned & sanitized by Maui Clean Space and readied for your stay.

Hale Ono Loa is conveniently located close to great restaurants and activities in Lahaina. West Maui is friendly and less crowded that other areas of the island. The local Times Market and Safeway are just a short trip down the road. There is usually a nice trade wind and you'll love looking out across the channel to the islands of Lana'i and Molokai.

You will delight in watching the turtles swim in the reef or simply watching the ocean activity from the lanai or sundeck. We have developed many favorites in our visits to Maui. Favorite restaurants, favorite snorkeling spots, favorite beaches, favorite coffeehouse, etc. We share all of our favorites as well as options for island adventures in our Guestbook. As is the case with many beachside properties, Hale Ono Loa does not have air conditioning, but is cooled by the island trade winds.

What makes this condo unique

The low key atmosphere at Hale Ono Loa is the perfect place to get away and relax. The incredible ocean view is a bargain at twice the price and the turtles in the reef are an island bonus. Rising in the morning to a cup of coffee or tea on the private lanai and the option of creating your own private dining experience will not only make your stay economical but personal. And, the option for fabulous dining and entertainment is only a short drive away.

Hale Ono Loa is a low-rise, recently renovated, 4 story complex, with a large pool & grass area for playing. Ocean entry via the sea steps allows access to snorkeling in the reefs offshore and the neighboring properties have beach entry. Amenities also include a shared BBQ, coin-op laundry room, elevator access and free parking. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and filled with the spirit of aloha. Come enjoy a unique island experience. Building does not have AC.

Lovely and close to everything

This condo has an ideal location on the west side of Maui. We loved the lanai and spent many hours eating meals, watching the sunset, and listening to the waves. It has a kitchen with all the basics to make meals and BBQ when you don't want to eat out, it was also very close to a wonderful farmers market that we visited almost every day ( their acai bowls and dips are amazing! ) and close to kaanapali, napili, Lahaina area that we wanted to be near for luaus, snorkeling, shopping, beach etc. Although the condo does not have a sandy beach, it does have steps leading to the ocean. We snorkeled here as well and we were so thrilled to see the sea turtles every evening that came to munch on sea plants on the rocks. It was also great that the owners have left a variety of snorkeling gear, beach chairs, mats, umbrellas and coolers that we could use for when we went to the beach... such a nice bonus. The guest book was also a great place for recommendations on places to eat and things to see. The owners keep the place very clean and they were easy to work with in terms of booking. We had a wonderful stay here and hope to return in the future. Mahalo!

Perfection in paradise!

Mark and Janice's thoughtful touches make this unit unique: tasteful tropical decor with comfy furnishings - we especially appreciated the cushioned armchairs and dining set on the lanai; fully equipped kitchen enabling us to enjoy breakfast, cocktails and dinner on the lanai - the view was too spectacular to go elsewhere; updated shower most welcome after a day in the sun; plentiful supply of towels and fresh linens; the lanai closet in which we found any/everything one could want for a day at the beach, including a great Island Pride backpack cooler with two compartments - one insulated for lunch goodies and one for books, suntan lotion, water bottles. In addition, Mark and Janice make reserving, checking-in and checking-out very easy.

Hale Ono Loa's location has to be the best on West Maui - near a great grocery, farmers market, and fish market; near Napili Bay with great waves for boogie boarding; near the calmer waters and beautiful sand beaches of Kaanapali; near the scenic drive to the Blowhole. The condominium complex itself is well maintained with gorgeous tropical plantings, sparkling pool, stepped entry into the ocean, two gas grills, shuffleboard, plenty of outdoor seating, including lounge chairs, and laundry facilities.

We cannot imagine staying anywhere other than Mark and Janice's condominium when returning to Hawaii. Mahalo to Janice and Mark!

Had an absolutely wonderful stay. The view is amazing, great property at a great value. The location was perfect and the facilities beautiful. We would definitely come back.
