This top floor, Chateau Roaring Fork corner condo with 270-degree views is located just three blocks from the Aspen Mountain Silver Queen Gondola, City Market and Downtown. The cathedral ceiling and floor to ceiling glass wall make it feel even larger than it is. From the spacious living/dining room you are treated to views of Aspen Mountain; and from the Master Bedroom are views of the Roaring Fork River and Independence Pass. This beautifully furnished mountain home, has under gone a complete designer remodel. The master bath has a radiant heated floor and a shower with two shower heads and a window. The view from one shower head is Little Nell and the Gondola, and from the other shower head is the Roaring Fork River and Independence Pass. Our goal was to capture the spectacular views and location; while stressing comfort, coziness and convenience.
We set the place up exactly as we wanted it for ourselves, and assumed that is what others who love Aspen will enjoy also. The floor to ceiling glass on the south and west sides of the dining room brings the mountain inside. You have your morning coffee while watching skiers on Little Nell. This is the best location to watch Aspen?s renowned fireworks displays.
The kitchen and dining room feature granite countertops with a matching granite table for eight. There is a new gourmet kitchen, including cherry cabinets, a large gas range, and all new stainless steel appliances with a convection oven/microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator with icemaker, a separate wine cooler and a gas grill on the deck.
The living room has a gas fireplace inserted in an artist designed tile chimney and a flat screen television with DVD. You relax on a large, upscale leather couch, with both cove and Italian glass lighting fixtures.
The unit is fully serviced by Wi-Fi, allowing you to work comfortably on your laptop. Comcast cable to all of the televisions includes HBO and On Demand.
The Master Bedroom has a king size bed with a superfoam mattress, a flat screen television, an I-Pod docking system with a clock radio and a wall mounted fountain.
The other two bedrooms have wall mounted flat screen televisions with DVD's, I-Pod docking system with clock radios and two extra length twin beds. At your request, the twin beds can be joined and made as a king size bed.
Your stay includes DAILY MAID SERVICE with ABI, THE BEST HOUSEKEEPER IN ASPEN! Fresh towels and linens are provided daily, and sheets are changed after three days. Free domestic long distance calling is provided. There is also a full size washer and dryer, and a Rinnai Instant hot water system assuring that you will never run out of hot water.
The Chateau Roaring Fork has the largest pool in Aspen, accompanied by two large hot tubs.
The hot tubs are great meeting places in which to soak after skiing, and a wonderful amenity in the summertime also. There is also a sauna, a small workout room, and community access to computers in case you didn't bring your laptop.
The rules of the Condominium Association prohibit you from bringing any Pets. Management vigorously enforces The NO-PET rule. Also, this is a NON-SMOKING UNIT.
Because of the convenient location and Aspen's wonderful public transportation system you do not need a car while staying here. If you do bring a car you will need a pass to park it in the condominium lot. A Parking Pass is provided at no charge.
Weekly rentals with Saturday-to-Saturday stays are preferred. There is a three-day minimum stay, with longer minimums at select times. Daily and Weekly rates are listed, but may be modified for special events. Monthly rates can be negotiated. All taxes are additional. Owner reserves the right to change rates at any time in the future.
We met on a chairlift on Aspen Mountain in 1974. We live in Colorado, and so come up often, skiing and snowshoeing in the winter, hiking, riding our tandem bike (the adjoining picture of us with our tandem is an early fall ride to Snowmass), enjoying the music festival in the summer and relaxing by the pool complex at our place. A designer remodel was completed with the goal of making our unit casual, comfortable and inviting. After an active day we often times grill on the barbecue on our deck, a wonderful place from which to toast the sunset and appreciate what a wonderful place Aspen is year 'round.
James purchased this condo in 1986
We had owned another condominium about a block away from this one since 1972. It did not have the open sunny feel we now enjoy, nor did it have the spectacular views that we always coveted in this Chateau Roaring Fork unit. When this high ceilinged, south facing unit, with 270 degree views including both the Roaring Fork river and Aspen mountain came available in 1986 we jumped on it. We knew that its sunny exposure with all day sun, and high ceilings made it very special. We were right.
I can highly recommend this apartment. It has a beautiful view, you can even see skiers on the front slopes and the gondola. The bedrooms are all comfortable with plenty of wardrobe space. The bathrooms are very practical. The kitchen is very functional and there is everything you need to cook a hearty family meal. The apartment is serviced regularly which is wonderful. The apartment is a short walk from town and is therefore very quiet. I will definitely be returning, hopefully sooner rather than later. Thank you James for making our Aspen experience so easy. You were more than helpful.
We have stayed in VRBO rentals all over the United States and Europe and this is the first one I have felt compelled to review. We took a family vacation to Aspen over the Christmas holiday. We were traveling with two children aged 8 and 10 and my parents. This was our first trip to Aspen. We found this rental on the VRBO website and chose it because of the several 5-star reviews and because of the location, size (3-bedrooms), and luxurious amenities. LOCATION: Outstanding. Steps to all the downtown Aspen restaurants, shopping and ski lift. The views from this condo are gorgeous. There is a large grocery store within walking distance. AMENITIES: Outstanding. This is a fully equipped condo with top of the line appliances including high end LG washing machine and dryer as well as Weber grill on the deck. Beautiful and spacious dining area. The furniture and décor in this unit were clearly not purchased with the intentions of renting in mind. The feeling is more of visiting a family or friend’s condo than a rental. The gas fireplace is a pleasure to relax in front of after a long day skiing. Each bedroom has a television which worked out wonderfully for our kids who wanted to watch movies in the evenings after dinner. The unit has two bathrooms – both very modern and recently upgraded. There is a heated swimming pool which is open year around which we unfortunately did not have time to use, but looked very clean and well maintained. The unit comes with parking which is important, given the downtown location. I cannot say enough about this condo. The pictures do not do it justice – the views are spectacular and the unit has everything you could possibly need during your stay. The owner was extremely helpful with money saving tips and restaurant recommendations. We dined at both recommended restaurants and were not disappointed. This is a large, three-bedroom corner unit on the top floor that has been renovated from top to bottom. It is also very competitively priced-just look at the prices of hotel rooms located just blocks away! The owner supplied us with a welcoming packet and very clear instructions on how to access the unit as well as a detailed map of the area. The daily maid service was also a very nice perk! We would definitely stay here again!
I rarely write reviews but this place is rave worthy! It is probably the best vacation rental in which we have stayed! James’ (owner) attention to detail is impressive – the daily maid service with a housekeeper who gives a thorough cleaning every single day, the memory foam mattress, the master shower with double shower heads, the fully stocked kitchen, the beautiful art work, the comfy leather couch, the fireplace already set on a timer. It all makes for a comfortable and luxurious stay. The condo is beautifully decorated, updated and kept meticulously clean. It’s a perfect location at the quiet end of street but so close (several blocks) to gondola and downtown Aspen! And James feels you like an old friend. He is easy to deal with, fun to talk to and full of great suggestions to help make your stay even better.
I don't normally write reviews but in this case it is well deserved! This was my first time booking on home away and everything about our stay was great. The property itself was very nice, well maintained and clean. If anything the profile pictures do it a disservice!! My fiance and i stayed in the mater suite which was very spacious and featured lots of closet space, it's own bathroom, and a memory foam mattress which was very comfortable! Other features like a fireplace in the living room, a large deck with great views, a well appointed kitchen, excellent daily maid service, and a fire place were a bonus! It's a quick walk to the town stores and restaurants, as well as the Gondola.
Dealing with James (the owner) was great as well, he was very helpful and accommodating throughout the whole process from when i first contacted him to allowing us a late checkout so we could ski the last day of our trip...he even gave us some insider recommendations for restaurants and things to do while in Aspen!
All in all it was a fantastic experience and i would not hesitate to rent this property again!
James was a delight to liaise with in arranging our stay, and we were fortunate to meet he and his wife briefly during our stay of 11 nights.
The unit had amazing views of the fireworks on Ajax Mountain, was so welcoming in its colors and furnishings, and very well equipped in the kitchen- we ate in nearly every night. It was only a couple of blocks to a great supermarket, and wine/beer shop, with plenty of restaurants also easy walking distance. The daily unit servicing was lovely.
We enjoyed talks and events at Wheeler Opera House, spent a beautiful day cross-country skiing to Pinecreek Cookhouse at Ashcroft for lunch (and back), and dropped into warming huts on the mountains to have a snack and talk with ski patrol people.
We were a 3 block walk to the Gondola, and it helped to hire skis at a ski shop where they minded them for a minimal fee each night so we didn't need to transport them to and fro. We would certainly look at staying here again if we're lucky enough to go to Aspen another time. Close enough to walk to everything, but quiet at night and just a joy to be there.
I recently stayed at this condo with 4 other friends and we could not have had a better time. The condo easily sleeps 5 and is more than big enough to accommodate all of us, is in a perfect location, and has an unbeatable view from the deck. The hot tub, daily maid service, and other amenities were a bonus.
Furthermore, James is great to work with. He is trusting, always reliable when you need him, a useful guide for the area, and just a really nice guy. This is probably the first review I remember ever writing about anything, and this condo is deserving of the praise. I only hope the price is as good next time I try to stay here in the future.
