Southern charm aplenty at S.Belle Garden Level!

  • 5 of 5

Traveled to Savannah to celebrate our 12th wedding anniversary. Wife has fallen in love with the beauty and charm of Savannah's Historic District. As such, we jumped on the chance to book this lovely two bedroom unit- though for our romantic getaway, we only needed one ;)

You feel yourself traveling back through time as you open the wrought iron gate along the fence that borders the line of houses that includes this one. The illusion continues the moment you step inside. Exposed brick walls, rich dark bare wooden floors, and antique furnishings transport you back to another century in the genteel South. The red couch with all its pillows would have felt right at home in Scarlett O'Hara mansion at Tara. The king sized bed in the huge master bedroom was luxurious. Walking down a long hallway brought you back to the present day with a modern kitchen, bath, and laundry facilities. The bathroom was tiny, with no tub but a luxury shower stall. If you are really large or claustrophobic, the smallish size might present a problem to you. My wife and I are both in the 200+ lb range, and while we found it cramped it didn't really present a problem. The kitchen area was spacious though, with all the room, appliances and utensils you'd need to cook your own meals. Outside, there is a table and chairs under a covered front patio where I enjoyed my morning coffee or one could enjoy tea or cocktails on a pleasant afternoon or evening. Parking was no problem; each time we parked within ten feet of our front gate.

We were literally two blocks from Forsyth Park and took in its' wonderful Saturday morning Farmer's Market. We picked up all the fixings for a gourmet lunch, picked up a bottle of wine from a shop at the southern end of the park, and had a romantic picnic in the park. There is also a full-service Kroger grocery store within two blocks as well, hidden to blend in with the neighborhood. On a long weekend, we also did a improv comedy murder mystery dinner/theater, sang along in an Irish pub on River Street, and saw Celtic Woman at the Johnny Mercer Theater.

This affordable property exceeded our expectations! This isn't the 1st time we've booked a Savannah vacation rental, nor the 1st we chose Southern Belle Vacation Rentals. Walt and his crew are friendly, professional and knowledgeable. All the details were worked out well in advance and we encountered no unpleasant surprises. Will book again soon and recommend to friends and family.

The Southern Belle Carriage House - FANTASTIC!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in the Southern Belle Carriage House and were very happy with the location as well as the Carriage house itself! Working with the folks at the Southern Belle Vacation Rentals was amazing. They went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of and completely satisfied. Our first rental was sold after we booked it but the guys at Southern Belle contacted us well before our vacation and placed us in another wonderful rental at no extra cost to us. We will always use Southern Belle Vacation Rentals when ever we travel to Savannah again! Great Experience!

Pros: Convenient parking in front. Apt. was clean and beds were comfortable. No hidden charges in rental.

Cons: Neighbors above were very noisy both nights we were there. Not really fault of owner. Small bathroom.

Cottage Grove

Just adored this property. Close to shopping, quaint, comfortable. We arrived a bit early, but Walt changed our access code so we could go in and refresh ourselves after a very long trip. I would definitely stay here again. The neighborhood was quiet and safe, friendly dog-walkers everywhere. The only thing I wasn't too crazy about was the small bathroom, but hey, for the price, it's an EXCELLENT value.

We couldn't of pick a better place. Location great, could walk to most places. The place was beautiful and well stocked, beds very comfortable! The apartment was very clean. It was alittle cool at night time but the husband and I enjoyed sitting outside on the porch. Renting the place was very easy as was the check-in. The people in the area were so friendly. Very close to grocery store 2 blocks away. There is so much to do, we will have to come back again, and would not hesitate to rent this again. Thanks for a wonderful week.
