relaxing and fun place to stay
This is our second time to stay, and we truly enjoyed things again. Chris was very accommodating , and always offered help with any additional needs. Great location and a fun place to stay. We will return!
Great Lake! Cottage was ok!
Overall it was a lovely stay. They did upgrade the TV based on the photos, but it is overall very rustic. The lake is very shallow so you can't really jump off the dock and there is no ladder to actually get back onto the dock from the water - only a metal step that is VERY slippery and a bit unsafe. Unfortunately, the paddle boat was totally flooded so we weren't able to even use that and the boat that was supposed to have 3 swivel chairs only had 2 and they were both broken. We must have been the first occupants of the summer as the tables outside were covered in webs and pollen and the cushions for the chairs were never brought outside. We were there for a heat wave and it was almost unbearable inside - there is no A/C. Thankfully Chris had a couple of window fans, BUT definitely bring your own if you go during the summer. Lastly, I would have given this 3.5 stars because our bathroom sink never worked. It was broken before we got there and never fixed. We got there Monday, and no one came until Wed to look at it (which they then realized they couldn't fix it) and we were leaving Thursday. It's very hard to not have a bathroom sink with 6 people! The lake is what gets the 4 stars! Its beautiful and the beach across the way (which we kayaked to) was great for the kids!
My apologies that you didn't have a 5 star stay!
And yes it was exceptionally hot and humid over the 4th of July week. The dock area is not designed as a swimming area nor is it advertised as such. There's a private beach a few cottages away as well as the town beach across the lake. And the bathroom sink drain certainly turned into a bigger job than I realized but rest assured it's been resolved. Regarding any other concerns you or any other guests might have in the future, please let me know upfront so we can attempt to immediately remedy the situation.
It was absolutely incredible!
We spent a great time at the cottage the last week of June, 2018. Very spacious and comfortable cottage right on a lake. Incredible opportunity for fishermen! The owners Chris and Gina took a good care of us making sure everything is ok. It happened that a refrigerator got broken. The next day Chris bought a new one! We were very touched. We hope to come back!
Gem of a place
Enjoyed 5 days and 4 nights at this great little cottage on beautiful Long Meadow Pond. It is a magical place and the cottage had everything my family of 4 needed including kayaks and a pedal boat. The owners could not have been nicer. We will be back! Thank you Chris & Gina!
Owner couldn't have been nicer, kayaked and fishes everyday.
Nice. Great water access.
Enjoyed our stay. Not fancy, but nicely rustic which is what we wanted. Great water access and views. Would go again.
Nestled in the northwest hills of Connecticut, Bethlehem is more affectionately known as the 'Christmas town' for its name and winter festivities. Located in Litchfield County, which still offers picturesque farmlands and 'Norman Rockwell' main streets. Long Meadow Lake is a very tranquil, peaceful lake perfect for relaxing on the private beach areas, going for a swim, or cruising the lake in canoes, kayaks, paddleboats, or row boats (no gas motors only electric trolling motors allowed). Come enjoy the New England seasons.
