Spring and summer guests enjoy sunbathing on a private beach, boating, fishing and canoeing. Autumn brings crisp air and spectacular foliage with brilliant colors mirroring off of the lake's water. Winter offers snow machining, ice fishing and snowshoeing. Nearby is a 7 mile path for biking, walking, jogging and snow machining alongside Lake Wentworth. Property is 3 miles from quaint downtown Wolfeboro where there is fine dining at every corner, sandwich, coffee and ice cream shops. Bring your own boat and dock it at the private beach, or rent one nearby. A vacation retreat awaits you.
Lake Winnipesaukee is the largest lake in NH - great year-round fun whether you are a summer soul (fishing, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, water skiing, etc. ) If you prefer to autumn foliage you can sit at the beach and almost watch the colors change before your eyes! Winter brings ice fishing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, ice skating or just building snowmen. We have something for you whether active - or you just want to enjoy the myriad restaurants & shops in downtown Wolfeboro.
Piping Rock is a unique property - built when "cottages" were the common site on the Lake. We have preserved the feeling of yesteryear with many updates and conveniences.
We are right on Lake Winnipesaukee. Winter Harbor is somewhat secluded for quiet safe swimming & boating and also panoramic views.
My husband and I were so pleased with this cottage upon arrival. The cottage is actually a boathouse built over the water, and the views from the living room window and adjacent beach are spectacular! I was able to kayak in the mornings and my husband was able to fish right off the dock. Will probably return and would highly recommend for a unique vacation with activities to please every taste.
Tour the lake on the M/S Mount Washington or visit one of our fine museums - The Libby Museum of Natural History, the NH Boat Museum, The Wright Museum of WW II or the Clark House historical complex. Great Waters Musical Festival or The Village Players and Cate Park offer great music and theatre. Craft fairs are common on the grounds of Brewster Academy. Many sporting activities as well as farmers markets.
