About Tom Newberry

We built this house so that we would have a large retreat location for our family of 7 children and 12 grand children.

Tom Newberry purchased this lodge in 2007

Why Tom Newberry chose Montana

We have been visitors and property owners in the Big Sky Area for over 37 years. The Yellowstone Country is such a unique and special place with outdoor activities 4 seasons of the year.

What makes this lodge unique

We love to enjoy the fantastic fly fishing on the Gallatin River and in Yellowstone National Park. Wildlife viewing is just out our back window and we regularly see elk, deer and moose. The skiing is some of the best in the country and we love both down hill and cross country.

Excellent House

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect, the area was breathtaking, the rooms were clean and big. The kitchen had everything we needed. Can't say enough about how much we love this house! We got to the west Yellowstone entrance within 45 minutes of leaving the property, but our family really just wanted to hang out in Big Sky because we liked it so much.

Our Perfect Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We were a group of 18, four families coming from four corners of the country, convening in Montana for a week of fun. This house was absolutely ideal. Comfortable, spacious but still cozy. The bedrooms were all so comfortable and well appointed. We had four choosy moms who gave the entire house a big thumbs up. The kids (10 of them) all had a blast too. Location was perfect to access all the activities we did including hiking, rafting, horseback riding and rafting. Highly recommend to any big group or family looking for a great spot to call home for a week in Montana.

Excellent for Large Families/Groups

  • 5 of 5

We were pleasantly surprised by the property, the atmosphere, and the experience. The lodge was very inviting and accommodated our family very well. We were able to visit Yellowstone on several occasions while there and there are several activities to do in the area. Our family was thrilled with their stay!

December 2014

Absolutely Fabulous home, relaxing, plenty of space, 2 fireplaces, great kitchen. Accessibility to Big Sky Skiing was excellent, about 10-15 min to the slopes. Also, West Yellowstone entrance was 45 min to 1 hour door to door. 3 min to Big Sky town center. Property manager was great, met us at the property to give us all the details and amenities of the property. He also was very accessible with recommendations in town and made sure our family was comfortable and enjoyed our stay! Awesome!

We were very pleased with the beautiful setting, the gorgeous lodge, the accuracy of information provided ahead, the comfortable family feel of the lodge, the assistance of the manager upon arrival and ease of access to activities in the area. We had many family ranging from age 2 to 70. We had easy access to white water rafting, zip lining, to exploring Yellowstone, shopping and movies in Big Sky, fishing in the river and wonderful evening bonfires. Wifi was quite sketchy and the selection of TV channels was not as good for families but we had DVDs. A second fridge would have been helpful for all the food. The kids loved the creek and pond area! Highly recommend.

July 2013 stay

  • 5 of 5

Our 20+ family member gathering at the Dudley Creek Lodge was fantastic. Before we arrived, the friendly property manager worked with us to make sure the visit went smooth. The Lodge was fantastic. It was clean and well maintained. There was plenty of room for everybody. The kitchen was spacious and fully equipped, and the dining room easily sat everyone. The family/living room was equally spacious. The pictures accurately depict the Lodge, and if anything, don't do it justice, particularly its size. The location was great, about an hours drive from the West Yellowstone entrance to YNP, and a minute or so to the entrance to Big Sky. We highly recommend the Dudley Creek Lodge.
