My wife and I spent our summers growing up on Plaice Cove beach and meet there, when we were 15!
The best rental available near Plaice Cove beach!
A short walk to Plaice Cove, while situated on a tree shaded property with balmy ocean breezes on the hottest days.
This is the PERFECT spot for a family who is looking for the quietness of a quaint neighborhood and yet have all the Hampton Beach fun you can imagine! Its a quick drive to the heart of Hampton Beach - and about a three minute walk from an adorable little beach access. This place has all the comforts of home! Before you go shopping for every day supplies, look in the house first :) Paper towels, toilet paper, zip lock bags, glassware, plates, forks, spoons, knives, pots/pans...its all there for you!
Just bring your own towels and sheets. We came up from Florida, so we shipped our sheet sets (don't ship blankets, they have them there). There is a UPS store minutes away from this cottage, in North Hampton. We shipped our stuff there, picked it up after we landed; shipped the stuff out the following week. EASY PEASY!
We had family come in from Manchester one day for a family BBQ - which was PERFECT on that large deck and screened in porch!
Old Orchard Beach in Maine is about an hour away; Boston is about an hour away; just great central location!
I really can't say enough about this place! Dean is a great landlord, you will not be disappointed by renting this cute cottage!
This review is a long time coming! We just finished putting together a slideshow of the pictures we took while vacationing in Hampton, NH and need to remark on how wonderful this location was for our needs.
First - the property is about an hour north of Boston. If you're flying in as we were you'll find your best air fair into Boston. Be sure to either map the location or have a navigation unit with you to be sure you can find the place. The cottage is on a quite street about 1000 feet from the Atlantic ocean. Close enough to hear the waves through an open window at night but far enough away to not be bothered by the shore drive traffic. The neighbors are quiet and keep to themselves, and the grounds themselves are exactly as described in the listing. I see the other review has covered amenities so I will be brief: two full bedrooms downstairs and a master bedroom in the loft provided ample room for us and our three children. The air conditioning worked, though you want to keep the loft door closed during the day to keep the cool air in. The kitchen was large and well stocked. Be sure to call Dean and Sandy for tips on where the lobster bibs and tools are stored and which stores and restaurants to be sure to visit during your stay.
Portland, Maine is an hour north of the cottage by highway, but we'd recommend at least part of the trip be taken on the shore drive. The vistas north of Ray are spectacular! We took the harbor history boat tour while in Portland an really enjoyed it. The downtown area is full of eclectic shops to wander in. Portsmouth is only 20 minutes up the road and has a wonderful downtown shopping and eating district open for walking. Recommend a lunch or dinner at Jumpin' Jay's Fish Cafe.
That is not to say you have to travel far for entertainment. The cottage is located about 3.5 miles up the shore from the fabled Hampton Beach, complete with wonderful sand, nightly entertainment in the new bandstand and tons of shoreline shops. An ice cream shop is about a half mile walk up the road - bring your appetite! The cones are HUGE.
We spend a day back Boston way visiting the Salem, MA Witch Museum, Dungeon, and shopping district. The kids (ages 9 to 14) all found something that interested them.
Back to the cottage. My wife and daughter immediately found the puzzles and set up a table in the screened in porch. The boys found the internet connection and did their smartphone things, and I actually read a book!
My friends and I spent a perfect week in this lovely home. We are a group of old friends who now live in different parts of the country but who vacation together every year. This home is located in a wonderful, residential neighborhood, just a few houses from the uncrowded town beach. The neighborhood is quiet and safe and all the homes are well-maintained. In addition to the cathedral-ceilinged great room inside, there is a large screened porch and a lovely outside deck - all wonderful gathering places for meals, board games or visiting. Among us, there are indiviudals "addicted" to gourmet cooking, swmming, sunbathing, facebook, reading and sleeping late. This rental accommodated each of us very well as the kitchen is well-appointed, there is wireless access throughout and, of course, the beach is just steps away. Just a mile or two down the road is the Hampton Beach area with lots of shops and casual beach restaurants, bars and hotels. Every week, there are fireworks on the beach and its enjoyable to get out and check out the town. Just a short distance in the opposite direction is the The Beach Plum, a wonderful seafood and ice cream stand right across from the beach. We also took easy day trips to the charming towns of Portsmouth NH and Newburyport, MA The owner of this property is far more gracious than would be expected in a rental situation. In fact, our stay was more like a visit a friend's home than a business arrangement.
Located in an exclusive section of luxury, single family, beach front homes near North Hampton, this unique, beautifully landscaped private residence sits on a quiet lane directly across from Plaice Cove beach....just a short stroll to the most beautiful beach on the New Hampshire coast.
