Everything was exactly as pictured, lovely & spacious home.

Spent labor day there, met our daughter over there from FGCU, even had some of her friends over for the day

to cook out & enjoy the pool & beach. The owners are very friendly, we fished every night off their dock & caught

16+ fish in less than 2 hours. Our Boxer Bentley even had a great trip, thanks for letting him join us.

A Fisherman's Paradise

  • 5 of 5

No review can give this rental justice. I have stayed at multiple VRBO locations and this one was above and beyond. We were able to fish daily off a private dock, which was abundant with snook and mangrove snapper.

The beach was a beautiful leisurely walk across the street to absolute privacy and seclusion. We had the Gulf Beach to ourselves most of the time. The shelling was fantastic and we picked up conch and rare spiral seashells to show to our friends and family. Another bonus is the private swimming pool. It was a great refresher from a hot day in the sun.

The kitchen is well equipped for all types of cooking. Everything you would need to make a home cooked meal was provided.

The location was convenient to all restaurants and recreational activities. My son had a great time jet skiing and fishing. Also, the owners had games and toys to entertain my son on and off the beach.

I happily recommend this home since I think it is a great hidden paradise for families. The owners provide everything you could wish for. Fishing poles, beach chairs, umbrellas, toys, and wagons to transport fun.

We had the opportunity to meet the owners and they gave us a history of their property and shared the delights of the many fruit trees on the land. They were exceptionally accomadating and kind to any request.

We look forward to returning to this rental and sharing it with friends and family.

I can't say enough about this vacation home!

It was absolutely perfect for our family...

My boys love to fish and the private dock on the bay was awesome! They kept track, and between 4 fishermen they caught 162 fish in a week!

A manatee and a dolphin also came right up to the dock while we were fishing!

The walk to the beach is a short easy one. The trail is flat and well shaded.

The owners provide everything you need at the beach, including chairs, umbrellas, beach towels, a cooler, and a wagon to transport it all in. The beach was never crowded at all.

There were times that it felt like we had the place to ourselves!

The house is as pictured. It has a large open living area, huge master suite, screened in porch, and the kitchen is stocked with everything you could possibly need.

The private pool is great, it's shaded during most of the day providing a nice place to cool off. The owners were out of town the week that we were there but they called and checked on us a couple of times and had someone available to assist us if we had needed anything... We didn't. Everything was perfect!

The only negative I can mention is that the mosquitos are bad. This of course is a problem all over the island, not just this property.

Overall we were more than pleased. I would highly recommend this property and hope to go back some day. Thanks Rene and Margarethe for a wonderful vacation!

A gorgeous house that exceeded expectations!

  • 5 of 5

We came to Captiva for a family reunion and this house was perfect. It is spacious, very comfortable, artistically decorated and so well supplied with everything you could possibly need, right down to bug spray, beach toys etc! Margarethe and Renee are great hosts - we enjoyed seeing their art and hearing about the interesting lives they lead, including making kombucha! We have nothing but praise for this little slice of heaven. Many thanks!

Perfect in many ways

  • 5 of 5

All 6 members of our 3 generation family loved this idyllic guest house. Location was great for walking to Blind Pass for shelling. Split floor plan is excellent, as one side has a kids' room with 2 twins and a closet full of toys and a large queen bedroom with shared/full bath. The other side has a spacious master suite with relaxing sitting area and desk overlooking large trees and the pool. The kitchen was well stocked. Screened patio got lots of use, and the grill was great. We only went to the dock once, but watching the snook jump was cool!

The walk to the beach was doable with small kids, and there were lots of toys, chairs, etc., as advertised. We passed the owners a few times...They were unintrusive and so pleasant, and they responded promptly to all questions/needs.

Oh, and the private pool was the perfect size/temp for everyone, including young, new swimmers.

Thank you so much for allowing us to stay at your phenomenal property!!

Wonderful Captiva House

  • 5 of 5

This property was the perfect backdrop for our Captiva vacation! It looks exactly like the pics.Immaculate house completely modern & updated, Fully furnished for life! Great kitchen! More than enough room for 6 adults & a 6 mos. infant. We loved that the house is surrounded by lush tropical plantings. Beach beyond fabulous, pool perfect w/ shade when you need it. We would definitely stay at this home again. Captiva itself is a delight--our days of going to the Caribbean are over.
