This magnificent home with ocean views from all 4 balconies is located in Islamorada at Mile Marker 85 in the exclusive gated community of Angler's Reef, a quiet oceanfront community in the Florida Keys. Anglers Reef is a boutique complex of 52 homes inspired by Native Conch & British West Indies architecture. Quaint streets & walking paths wind through this village-styled retreat. Amenities include a community pool overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and 500ft of private beach. The home's boat slip is available for rent with a deep channel out to the Atlantic ($250/week). Or launch your kayak from the private beach (kayak and paddle board rentals available for drop-off or ask about using our 2 person kayak). Built in 2007, this home has 2 bedrooms located on the 2nd floor (Master has Tempur-Pedic Mattress and each bedroom has a private bathroom. Basically there is 2 masters upstairs), each having a private porch with an ocean view, and has 2 more porches downstairs with ocean views for morning coffee or cocktails. Homes decor includes stainless appliances, granite counters, Brazilian cherry hardwood floors, 3 flat screen TVs with cable including Movie Channels & WiFi
Islamorada is synonymous with the best fishing - gulf, backcountry or ocean. There are plenty of guides, charters or boat rentals. You can also try for hogfish, snapper, mahi, tuna, bonefish, tarpon, snook, & more. Right at the Anglers Reef docks you can catch mangrove snapper, ladyfish, jack crevalle, moonfish, grunts, mullet & barracuda depending on season. We had one lucky vacationer catch a 70 pound Tuna right off the docks.
For those who don't like fishing there is still a ton to do which is one of the reasons we chose Anglers Reef. The development and the Islamorada area have a lot to do for people who are not into fishing. Just hanging at our home on one of the four porches is enough of a full day for some.
Enjoy our spacious decks with a book or cocktail and the views of the turquoise waters and ocean breeze. Or enjoy the large community pool (heated in winter and cooled in summer!). And if that's not enough you can take a stroll thru the community or relax on the private beaches or you can launch Kayaks and Paddle boards right off our beaches.
Restaurants: a short 5 minute walk are Hog Heaven, Smugglers Grill and the Island Grill. By car a few miles away are lots of oceanfront or bay front restaurants to eat at. All are amazing. See our recommendation book in the home.
Attractions: Swim with dolphins at Theater of the Sea 1/2 mile south. Founders Park is just a mile north with concerts and lots to do. The Islamorada Chamber of Commerce visitors center is also near the entrance to Founders Park for local info as well as affordable postcards, posters, T-shirts and books.

In addition to shady walks through unique foliage, fossils of sea creatures can be seen throughout the park. A free guidebook is available at the visitors center for use during your stay in the park. Islamorada also offers an 18-mile bicycle path that extends the length of the Village.
Scuba/Snorkel! : Islamorada, long recognized as the 'Sport Fishing Capital of the World,' is now an icon among sport divers for a similar reason: a massive population of tropical marine life. High profile coral heads and broad ledges shelter huge congregates of French grunt and goat fish, while regal queen angelfish casually graze amid the reef recesses. Friendly green moray eels swim freely along the spur-and-groove channels, and reclusive nurse sharks lurk beneath the overhangs. Islamorada offers a wide variety of shallow coral reefs, mini walls, shipwrecks, and even an underwater habitat for scientific research, the Aquarius. To learn more about Islamorada or any other manner of local lore, stop by the Chamber of Commerce at MM 82.5.
*The Eagle - This 287 ft ship was intentionally sunk in 110 ft of water as a dive attraction, cloaked in sponge & coral, populated by grunt, harpoon & jack. *Davis Reef - Reef revered for its incredible concentration of grunts & schoolmaster snapper, as well as several amiable resident green morays, long accustomed to benign interaction with the dive masters. *Alligator Reef - Now marked by a 136-ft-tall lighthouse, on this spot in 1822 the USS Alligator grounded & sank while protecting a convoy from pirates; remains of the wreck are the twin piles of ballast stones, but the coral reef - in just 25 ft of water - is vibrant and alive. *Conch Wall - Offering a precipitous sloping wall & captivating concentrations of barrel sponge & gorgonia punctuating seafloor. *Crocker Wall - A 450+-foot-long wall in 50 ft of water. The wall has a 30 ft decline and features grunts, yellow tail &grouper with spur-and-groove coral & block coral.
*Pickles Reef - Reef's minutia in 15-25 ft of water.
We love the Keys! We purchased our home back in 2009 and loved it so much we bought a second home right next door (HomeAway #3000700) My wife and I have 2 girls ages 16 and 13 and they also love the Keys. They love boating, fishing, paddle boarding, snorkeling, kayaking, biking and just hanging out at the Keys famous sandbars. Islamorada is an amazing Island and in my opinion the best location in the Florida Keys! You can't go wrong!
Scott Ofstein purchased this house in 2009
Our home has great views of the Atlantic Ocean from all 4 porches. The homes is the second back from the ocean. The community is gated and has a pool on the Atlantic Ocean, a beach and a marina with a deep water channel to the Ocean. We are one of Islamorada's limited number of licensed weekly vacation homes, VR-163
Pool, Beach and Boat docks right on property. Walking distance to a few restaurant and some attractions.
My daughter, son in law and 3 grandchildren stayed the week after Christmas in this beautiful home in Angler's Reef. The location was perfect and accurately described - steps from the pool and beach. The area was quiet and because it is a gated community, my family felt safe allowing the children to walk around the property. The home is well appointed and the kitchen has every tool/gadget for the cook if someone is so inclined. The owner provided help and suggestions, well beyond our expectations. He was kind and friendly from the get go and was immediately responsive to any needs. The information regarding restaurants and attractions was very helpful. My son in law took his sons snorkeling and I accompanied kids on the glass bottomed boat tour. Our only regret was that we had to leave. We would love to return and will recommend this property to our friends. It is a find! What a fantastic week.
Great place to vacation! Fishing, close to tennis and great sunsets at the beach!
The house is close to the water so you get the ocean breeze. The available dock is very close to the house so easy to load diving equipment and fishing gear. The house is clean and has a good flow. The showers are strong.
The front deck is perfect to sit and read in the shade after spending the day on the ocean
The back deck has ocean view and perfect for a glass of wine before diner.
Will be back...
This was our family's second trip to this house and we loved it as much as the first visit. We love the location, the quiet, and the convenient basin to keep our boat so that we can effortlessly come and go to fish the waters of Florida Bay. We can fish early in the morning and then spend the mid-day heat by the pool or inside and then go out again for some evening fishing. The house is very well appointed and has everything you need. The owner is very attentive and committed to be sure that you stay is everything that you would hope it to be. We will be back next year.
Another fabulous stay in this place! Ideal place to be for so many reasons....safe..clean..beautiful..location and the list goes on! It is definitely thr home away from home! Thank you Scott for sharing your home with my family for the 2nd year in a row. We will be back! Missing it already! Until next time Paradise....
Well maintained house and grounds. Excellent location - access to restaurants, shopping and low key entertainment. Owner responsive. Rental cost probably precludes us renting on annual basis but definitely would like to do it again someday.
One minor complaint - staff puts out garbage containers day before pickup; during our stay they were not put away until day after when I finally did it myself. This made parts of three days when it was difficult to back car out of carport without hitting a container.
Islamorada is located in the Upper Keys, about halfway between Miami and Key West. Nicknamed the Sport Fishing Capital of the World and known to have the best restaurants in the Keys, there is much to do in, under, above or near the waters surrounding Islamorada. In the water... you can boat, kayak, para sail, jet ski, snorkel, dive or even cruise out to the Alligator Reef Lighthouse or to Barnacle Bobs at the Tiki sandbar for a burger in the middle of the ocean. You can also swim with dolphins, sea lions and sea rays at Theater of the Sea (less than a mile south). Or if you have had enough water, check out the local parks, pampering spas, exclusive shops and a large array of amazing restaurants. Be sure to catch a sunset from the many restaurants or bars along the gulf side. And if it's a full moon, adults may want to head over to Morada Bay & Pierre's for their famous Full Moon Parties, beach parties with bonfires in the sand, specialty drinks and live entertainment (covers apply).
