Overview

About the property

2 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, sleeps 6, ocean views from all 4 balconies, optional dock

This magnificent home with ocean views from all 4 balconies is located in Islamorada at Mile Marker 85 in the exclusive gated community of Angler's Reef, a quiet oceanfront community in the Florida Keys. Anglers Reef is a boutique complex of 52 homes inspired by Native Conch & British West Indies architecture. Quaint streets & walking paths wind through this village-styled retreat. Amenities include a community pool overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and 500ft of private beach. The home's boat slip is available for rent with a deep channel out to the Atlantic ($250/week). Or launch your kayak from the private beach (kayak and paddle board rentals available for drop-off or ask about using our 2 person kayak). Built in 2007, this home has 2 bedrooms located on the 2nd floor (Master has Tempur-Pedic Mattress and each bedroom has a private bathroom. Basically there is 2 masters upstairs), each having a private porch with an ocean view, and has 2 more porches downstairs with ocean views for morning coffee or cocktails. Homes decor includes stainless appliances, granite counters, Brazilian cherry hardwood floors, 3 flat screen TVs with cable including Movie Channels & WiFi

Islamorada is synonymous with the best fishing - gulf, backcountry or ocean. There are plenty of guides, charters or boat rentals. You can also try for hogfish, snapper, mahi, tuna, bonefish, tarpon, snook, & more. Right at the Anglers Reef docks you can catch mangrove snapper, ladyfish, jack crevalle, moonfish, grunts, mullet & barracuda depending on season. We had one lucky vacationer catch a 70 pound Tuna right off the docks.

For those who don't like fishing there is still a ton to do which is one of the reasons we chose Anglers Reef. The development and the Islamorada area have a lot to do for people who are not into fishing. Just hanging at our home on one of the four porches is enough of a full day for some.

Enjoy our spacious decks with a book or cocktail and the views of the turquoise waters and ocean breeze. Or enjoy the large community pool (heated in winter and cooled in summer!). And if that's not enough you can take a stroll thru the community or relax on the private beaches or you can launch Kayaks and Paddle boards right off our beaches.

Restaurants: a short 5 minute walk are Hog Heaven, Smugglers Grill and the Island Grill. By car a few miles away are lots of oceanfront or bay front restaurants to eat at. All are amazing. See our recommendation book in the home.

Attractions: Swim with dolphins at Theater of the Sea 1/2 mile south. Founders Park is just a mile north with concerts and lots to do. The Islamorada Chamber of Commerce visitors center is also near the entrance to Founders Park for local info as well as affordable postcards, posters, T-shirts and books.

Grocery & Other Shopping: There are small markets around Islamorada, including the Trading Post two miles south, there is also a Winn Dixie a few minutes north (around Mile Marker 91 in Tavernier, west side of the highway and a Publix a few miles farther north in Key Largo around Mile Marker 101 (east side at a traffic light in a shopping center with a KMart).

Parks in Islamorada, Village of Islands: Just 2 miles north is Islamorada Founders Park at MM 87 Bayside, which offers activity or relaxation for the whole family. An Olympic-sized pool with diving area, a shallow water beach, water sports rentals, ball fields, fishing jetty, bocce, tennis and basketball courts, vita course with 18 exercise stations, multi-purpose path, skate park and dog park all are within the 40-acre park. Fees may apply. Village municipal parks also include the Islamorada Library Beach and Anne’s Beach. There is the Windley Key State Geological Site, a state park, at the site of a former coral rock quarry. In addition to shady walks through unique foliage, fossils of sea creatures can be seen throughout the park. A free guidebook is available at the visitors center for use during your stay in the park. Islamorada also offers an 18-mile bicycle path that extends the length of the Village.

Scuba/Snorkel! : Islamorada, long recognized as the 'Sport Fishing Capital of the World,' is now an icon among sport divers for a similar reason: a massive population of tropical marine life. High profile coral heads and broad ledges shelter huge congregates of French grunt and goat fish, while regal queen angelfish casually graze amid the reef recesses. Friendly green moray eels swim freely along the spur-and-groove channels, and reclusive nurse sharks lurk beneath the overhangs. Islamorada offers a wide variety of shallow coral reefs, mini walls, shipwrecks, and even an underwater habitat for scientific research, the Aquarius. To learn more about Islamorada or any other manner of local lore, stop by the Chamber of Commerce at MM 82.5.

*The Eagle - This 287 ft ship was intentionally sunk in 110 ft of water as a dive attraction, cloaked in sponge & coral, populated by grunt, harpoon & jack. *Davis Reef - Reef revered for its incredible concentration of grunts & schoolmaster snapper, as well as several amiable resident green morays, long accustomed to benign interaction with the dive masters. *Alligator Reef - Now marked by a 136-ft-tall lighthouse, on this spot in 1822 the USS Alligator grounded & sank while protecting a convoy from pirates; remains of the wreck are the twin piles of ballast stones, but the coral reef - in just 25 ft of water - is vibrant and alive. *Conch Wall - Offering a precipitous sloping wall & captivating concentrations of barrel sponge & gorgonia punctuating seafloor. *Crocker Wall - A 450+-foot-long wall in 50 ft of water. The wall has a 30 ft decline and features grunts, yellow tail &grouper with spur-and-groove coral & block coral.

*Pickles Reef - Reef's minutia in 15-25 ft of water.

Angler's Reef Stay

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week at Angler's Reef and had a very good time enjoying the nice breeze on the front and back porches and the pool for part of the day. Everything we needed was in the house and the great weather just made our visit all the more enjoyable.....what a nice quiet community to spend a week in.....we travelled to the lower keys one day and went fishing on another. We were sorry to see our week end......

Fabulous property and stay.

  • 5 of 5

The Tipsy Turtle Key's Escape is a wonderful place to stay. The kitchen is full of amenities and has everything your chef will need for making a wonderful dinner of your freshly caught fish!

Scott is very reachable should any issues come up and is prompt in returning calls or messages. He is able to answer any questions or concerns and VERY easy to work with. There was a little issue as the washer/dryer had gone down the week before but he had a new one in by wed. Overall, it was a nice place to stay. We would definitely come back but we loved it so much at Angler's Reef we decided to buy our own place there so we will be staying at ours!

A Hidden Gem...A beautiful place to relax and enjoy Islamorada! You'll never want to leave...

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed at Scott's home with our friends for the week in March. The place was emaculately clean and very well stocked with supplies. We ate our breakfasts out on the back porch with the view of the ocean, and in the evenings, we sipped our wine on the front porch. We walked along the dock which is steps away from the home, and had the pleasure of seeing manatee's and fish everyday. The pool was beautifully heated and the view from the pool to the ocean is a dream come true. We used the kayaks and enjoyed the ocean. The beaches are both very clean and chairs were provided. I also liked how both of the bedrooms had ensuite bathrooms, so each couple had their own privacy. We did our laundry before leaving so we returned with clean clothes. It is beautifully decorated and we will definately be back next year, but for two weeks. Also, we are going to rent a boat for fishing when we return. As I said in the beginning, this is a hidden gem. I don't want to tell too many people...Thank-you

Scott.

Perfect Week in Islamorada and Angers Reef

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful week in Islamorada the first week of March and staying at the house helped to make the week perfect! The home is beautiful and well furnished. The views of the ocean from the balconies was breath taking. Loved getting up early in the morning and watching the sunrise. The gated community offered a heated swimming pool and we spent our afternoons lounging on the deck gazing out at the ocean and swimming in the pool. We especially appreciated the communication with and care received from the home owner. Can't wait to go back next year!

Fantastic!!

  • 5 of 5

This home is located in a gated community which is conveniently located to everything in the Keys. It has an awesome view from the decks, is clean and well taken care of. The beds are really comfortable too. Well stocked with pans and what we needed to make breakfast. Scott was great to work with and easy to contact when we had questions. I hope I get to return here sooner than later. You won't be disappointed in this unit!

Islamorada is located in the Upper Keys, about halfway between Miami and Key West. Nicknamed the Sport Fishing Capital of the World and known to have the best restaurants in the Keys, there is much to do in, under, above or near the waters surrounding Islamorada. In the water... you can boat, kayak, para sail, jet ski, snorkel, dive or even cruise out to the Alligator Reef Lighthouse or to Barnacle Bobs at the Tiki sandbar for a burger in the middle of the ocean. You can also swim with dolphins, sea lions and sea rays at Theater of the Sea (less than a mile south). Or if you have had enough water, check out the local parks, pampering spas, exclusive shops and a large array of amazing restaurants. Be sure to catch a sunset from the many restaurants or bars along the gulf side. And if it's a full moon, adults may want to head over to Morada Bay & Pierre's for their famous Full Moon Parties, beach parties with bonfires in the sand, specialty drinks and live entertainment (covers apply).
