About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

AS FEATURED ON FINE LIVING CHANNEL

This is a peaceful Spanish Mission style home on a spectacular site with a large, private pool in the foothills of Santa Barbara. It has magnificent views, wonderful sunsets, and a tropical landscape that gives an exotic resort feeling.

The property is at the end of a private road with no through traffic.

This is a family home of English design professionals. With its tree house, pool and swings it is an ideal place for families.

However because of the residential neighborhood the property it is not suitable for loud groups wanting to party.

Mission Santa Barbara is only one and one-half miles away. It is less than ten minutes from downtown Santa Barbara which is a very sophisticated town in the Spanish Colonial style; a beautiful town to walk in. There are theaters, many cinemas, and the type of restaurants and shops one usually finds only in large international cities.

This artistic house is light, open, and comfortable. The combined kitchen/dining room is large, 26 feet x 16 feet. The adjacent poolside dining area is an ideal place to watch the sunsets or enjoy lunch sitting in swimsuits in the warm sunshine. The large living room, 20 feet x 25 feet, has a wood burning fireplace and wonderful mountain views. There is a home office and wireless internet. No smoking and no pets, please.

The Santa Barbara Botanic Gardens are within walking distance, as are many hiking trails.

Keywords: Private, tropical, views, large pool.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had such a relaxing, restful time. Your home is amazing. We loved it and Patricia was thrilled with everything especially after she found the knife sharpener!

Incredible Property!

  • 5 of 5

We had a quiet family memorial for my father-in-law. He and his wife had lived just a few blocks away for 50 years before moving to a retirement community. He was 98 when he died, we took his ashes to a favorite hiking spot. Everyone who came up was so impressed by the 360 degree views and the eclectic décor. The owners were nearby and very helpful. Would highly recommend this property.

Casual, comfortable and convenient

  • 5 of 5

The property is nicely situated, close enough to downtown Santa Barbara and well placed for front range hikes, a trip to the Botanical Garden or to other areas of interest. Stunning views to the southwest, with lovely sunsets. The house was a good place for us -- 6 family members and friends for meals.

The property is very well described in the VRBO description. The owner's instructions on how to find the property (it's at the end of a private road) are accurate...and necessary. The owners are responsive and helpful, but did not need to do much as the house was well appointed, clean and ready for us when we showed up.

We have heard location, location, is the key to success.

Our hosts: Hilary and Michael were outstanding. Our kids and grandkids were very happy. The pool and the lovely backyard became an extension of the of the house. We will be back!

Thanks Hilary and Michael

The Property is FantasticQ

  • 5 of 5

Great house, tons of room and beautiful sun deck with pool. House is very close to state street and easily reachable by Uber and Lyft. I would recommend this house for anybody looking to relax poolside and explore Santa Barbara. Only caveat is the owner live in the guest house very close by. The owners are very friendly and just request that you remain inside past 10 p.m.

We never even left the property!!!

  • 5 of 5

Lovely home, beautiful location and perfect setting for my get together with family and friends. There were even some pieces of furniture that we had in our home growing up, in Southern California , which made us feel even more at home. Kitchen fully stocked, enough bedding and plenty of towels for bathing and swimming. We spent the whole time out on the patio by the pool. The only thing missing were fans in all the bedrooms to cool down the evening air.
