Livingston Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 6)

With spectacular views of three mountain ranges in the Shields River Valley, the cabin is a perfect place to get away from it all. Perfect for a writer's retreat, family getaway, or use as a home base to explore Montana. It's about a 20 mile drive to local skiing at Bridger Bowl, and only two miles to the small town of Clyde Park which has a country market, 2 bars, post office, hardware store, and gas station. Close to excellent fishing in the Shields or Yellowstone Rivers, and about an hour drive to Yellowstone National Park. The larger town of Livingston which has many art galleries, entertainment, fine dining, and everything else you might need is 18 miles away. We are also about an hour drive to the closest airport and 2 hours to Billings.

Conveniently located off Hwy 89 on the route between Yellowstone and Glacier Parks, the cabin is in the heart of ranch country on a gravel road, perfect for those morning walks. At night you might hear owls hooting, elk bugling and coyotes yapping, while you look up at the star filled sky!

The cabin is quaintly decorated with country charm throughout. One bedroom has a queen bed and the other bedroom has a full size bed. Both have new memory foam mattresses in 2016, very comfortable. In the living area there is a single hideabed couch. We can also accommodate with a Graco Pack and Play for baby.

There are only 2 neighbors nearby, which is ourselves and one other house.

About Linda Hausler & Ric Steinke

We hope to make your vacation experience the best it can be!

Linda Hausler & Ric Steinke purchased this cabin in 2008

Why Linda Hausler & Ric Steinke chose Yellowstone

We love living in the Shields Valley and when we purchased our home it came with a cabin. We are happy to help folks enjoy Montana and give them an option other than a motel.

What makes this cabin unique

If you want to view some Wide Open Spaces, this is the place! Easy access off of Hwy 89 N. Country living.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We have really enjoyed our stay at your Montana cabin. You have provided everything we need to feel "at home".

It was fun to have the horses so close. Our granddaughter will be wanting to come back here with us!

Thank you for your advice on places to go around here-every one was great.

We hope to be able to return to this beautiful spot in Montana.

P.S. Thanks also for the eggs!

charming home in the country side

  • 5 of 5

The home is very comfortable to stay in. Love the country setting and the host and hostess was great. Clyde Park is just 2.5 miles down the road and it is a quaint little town. This home is not far from Livingston at all and easily traveled back and forth for dinner out. We eat at the Rib and Chop in Livingston and it was wonderful. In the evening we saw a herd of Elk in the fields and down the road a moose. We would recommend this charming home to friends.

Thank you for your hospitality.

Quaint, sufficient and relaxing!

  • 4 of 5

Gorgeous views of the Bridger and Crazy mountain ranges during sunrise and sunset! Friendly horses to visit and a great place to relax. Bring a pad to slip under the futon if you plan to use it though, or you'll be feeling slats all night... Otherwise a great little place to set up base camp as you explore the Shields River valley. :)

Owner's Response: Thank you Tera for staying with us, and we appreciate your honest feedback. That was the first we've heard of feeling the slats. We've replaced the bed with a brand new memory foam mattress and new frame, so future guests will have a great night's sleep!

Awesome place to stay

  • 5 of 5

Really enjoyed the cabin- excellent location for a relaxing getaway. Right in the middle of tons of excellent fishing. Saw lots of wildlife including moose about a mile away! I'll be staying at this rental again with some buddies for a guys flyfishing trip.

Cute cabin

  • 4 of 5

It's a cute cabin perfect for two couples. We knew we would be tight with the 7 of us there but we made it work. Very friendly owners, great views outside. Kitchen is a little hard to cook with but we BBQ'd and made it work. Only recommendation would be a bigger sink to wash dishes, other than that it's simple, and away from it all! Thank you!

Lovely cabin! Everything you could want was there. Property very clean and view wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

Arrived a little late and was greeted by linda.warm and friendly. Had good directions, easy to find. Cabin was everything we could hope for. Very clean and everything you could want. Beautiful view. Had 2 deer within 8 foot of living room window! Saw sandhill crane crossing the road! Spent most of our days at yellowstone but the evenings and nites were very quiet. Our grandson loved to feed the horses carrots (seems like the horses liked this to!) All in all we truly enjoyed our 5 nite stay and would recommend this cabin to anyone!

Amazing place to stay. We loved it

  • 5 of 5

We arrived via Linda's directions which were excellent. Cabin was very clean and much better than described. Very well equipped with everything you could want. Location is superb. Very quiet and peaceful. We loved feeding the horses. About an hour and a quarter drive to the entrance to Yellowstone. Linda and Ric were very friendly and helpful. The icing on the cake for us was that we saw black bears and cubs on the first day of our trip to Yellowstone and 2 grizzlies the next day. Suggest self catering as eating out was average at best and very expensive. Would highly recommend the cabin to family and friends

A great place to unwind. Mountain views, and many local scenic drives in the country. Hiking and mountain biking is nearby, with Yellowstone National Park just a little over an hour away. There is also an enclosed Grizzly Bear park on the Bozeman pass about half an hour away. The night sky is perfect for viewing all the stars and planets. It's very possible you'll hear a pack of coyotes howling in the distance, as well as the elk bugling. The gravel road is perfect for your morning or evening walk. Most likely our horses will be on the property, and they love carrots, apples, and attention!
