Overview

Cape Charles House Rental Photos and Description

House, 5 Bedrooms, 3.5 Baths (Sleeps 14)

St Patrick on the Chesapeake bay is a most beautiful home with distinctive european flair and a peaceful and private vacation destination. The beautiful 4500 square foot home is nestled amidst mature hollies, dogwoods, and pine trees, flowers and statuary, overlooking a pristine sandy beach. The property is situated on a high bluff at the mouth where the bay meets the Atlantic Ocean

The 1.5 acre manicured Mediterranean garden was artistically designed and created by the owners who moved to the shore in 1989 directly from Italy. The home is spacious and offers two large living rooms with views of the bay and enchanting garden. There are several places to contemplate nature. An amazing terrace jetting out over the high bluff is the most scenic spot to observe dolphins, sea birds and water men collecting their daily catch. The westerly views offer magical sunsets over the water. Close to a state park and the historic victorian bay front town of Cape Charles.

Meandering, mysterious paths are an invitation to follow the way to a heavenly hidden natural corner where one can truly relate with mother nature. A true oasis away from the hustle and bustle of every day life and yet so convenient to the many amenities the area offers.

The home itself is very spacious with large picture windows and cathedral ceilings. What makes this home unique and distinguished is the elegant European style noticeable in the furnishings and overall decor. As you enter the main front door you are welcomed into a very large open living room/foyer that features an imposing fireplace and French doors leading onto the picturesque deck that visually embraces the lush lawns and stunning Chesapeake Bay beyond. The outstanding green room is a feature worth highlighting as it offers a 500 sq. foot space also with fireplace and 3 absolutely charming bay windows each framing a different landscape view of the park-like garden.

From the back deck , a picturesque gold fish pond and waterfall is a soothing view to enjoy while outdoor grilling and dining. The master bedroom is furnished with museum- worthy last century Neapolitan custom made mahogany furniture and features a quaint sitting room bay window area to take in the spectacular view.

The bay front state park just a few minutes away offers numerous hiking trails, fishing pier and boat ramp. The historic Victorian bay side town of Cape Charles is 10 minutes away and offers shops, a variety of restaurants, a historic live theatre, signature gold courses, tennis and fitness center.

Be back soon!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a fabulous weekend here with our relatives. Everything was wonderful! The beautiful gardens and the view over the bay were just amazing- even better than the pictures. There is so much personal detail and unique character around this property that it made us feel like we had traveled to a secluded seaside resort. The home was also very clean and well-equipped. There was something to do for every age in our group. During our stay, we spent time taking walks down the beach to Kiptopeke State Park, fishing, sitting on the beach, and watching dolphins, ships, and gorgeous sunsets from the cliff. The owner was very accommodating and quick to respond to any questions or concerns that we had. Thanks again for sharing your lovely home with us. We look forward to returning soon!

Beautiful and Relaxing!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at St. Patrick was wonderful! The whole place was beautiful and very spacious for getting together for our family. It was a great place for us to meet up with our son and his family. He lives in Newport News and is in the Navy. We are from Pa. We loved the house, gardens and the beach. The owners were very good to get the WIFI fixed. We also hired a nearby photographer to take really nice family photos. Beautiful and Relaxing!

Ocean Beach & Mediterranean Garden

  • 5 of 5

The home is beautiful, spacious and clean. We just love sitting on the wooden dining chairs playing games or drinking coffee, enjoying the beach view and the Mediterranean garden outside the window. Every home may have a yard, but this is truly a garden and no other homes can beat this one. Spring is in the air, no winter chill, no summer crowds. Beach is really quite with sunrise and sunsets as beautiful as ever. My friends and I wanted a break from busy works and be relaxed, the home cannot give us more.

Beautiful

  • 5 of 5

From beginning to end, our stay was perfect. The owners of the property went out of their way to be hospitable and accommodating. We could not have asked for better hosts.

The property is stunning. From the garden and shrubs to the white beach on the bay, the exterior is absolutely welcoming. The interior, likewise, is aesthetically peaceful--at once leisurely and tasteful. The many windows offer a wonderful chance to absorb the natural light and the spectacular views. The layout of the house is perfect for large groups as well, offering plenty of space to gather together while also having enough nooks to sneak off to for some solitude.

In all, the property is a wonder, the hosts amazing. I would love to return soon.

Yes! Beautiful

  • 5 of 5

From the start, the owners of this property, sisters Luisa and Clelia, proved to be among the most accommodating and inviting of any rental owners I've worked with before. They were absolutely charming to talk to and perfectly generous in helping our group make specific arrangements. I could not have asked for more from our host.

The property itself is stunning: an inviting Mediterranean garden, a beautiful white sand beach, a house tucked away among cedars and a variety of shrubs, all well-kept. Also of note is the western sunset over the water, another rare find on the eastern seaboard. In all, it was an uncommon property that offered the best of scenery and peaceful leisure.

The interior of the house was, likewise, immaculate and tastefully decorated, offering warmth and aesthetic peace. There is no shortage of windows to let in the natural light and keep the house alive with the surrounding nature. Not to mention, the home was perfectly comfortable even at max capacity. There is plenty of quiet space for seclusion and open rooms to congregate in.

We could not have been happier. I would love to go back.

The Eastern Shore of Virginia is surrounded by water. On the east by the Altantic Ocean and on the west by the Chesapeake bay. It is connected to the rest of Virginia by the famous 17 mile long Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel.

Most people are attracted to the rural flavour and the slower pace and the friendly people. The nature is unspoiled and very scenic. The bay side is the perfect place for the many recreational activities such as boating, swimming, clamming and fishing. For the golf lover Cape Charles is home of two state of the aret signature golf courses- the Arnold Palmer and the Jack Nicklaus course.
