Amazing Stay with Breathtaking Views

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I celebrated our 1st Anniversary in this beautiful home with our 5 year-old golden retriever! The views of the mountains from the house are absolutely amazing! We enjoyed fly fishing on the Madison River and driving down to Yellowstone for a day. Steve was a wonderful host and it was a great trip despite the weather not being ideal! Thanks so much for a wonderful stay.

Great vacation house

  • 5 of 5

We spent a wonderful week at Elk View Lodge. The views from every window were spectacular. The house is comfortable, well equipped, and well situated for those who want to fish, visit Yellowstone National Park, Virginia City and Wade Lake. Our friends from Maine joined us and we enjoyed all of the above, plus cooking, relaxing in the hot tub and reading on the screened-in porch. Our one complaint was that we only stayed a week! Steve offered us every accommodation and more than answered our questions. We hope to come back soon.

Beautiful home with great hosts/owners

  • 5 of 5

The Elk View Lodge provided and excellent location from which to venture forth, south into Yellowstone and north to Ennis, Virginian and Nevada Cities. We were greeted by Pam and Steve who provided everything from directions to wine. They are genuine, warm and accommodating hosts. The home is very much as advertised and was very clean!!! The views are incredible, especially appreciated while sitting in the jacuzzi. We had everything we needed and more with plenty of room to spread out. There were nine adults in our party which was comprised of old friends and family members aged 25 to 88 and we all had a wonderful week. We were especially thankful that our dog was welcome.

"It's perfect...it has everything!!"

  • 5 of 5

Those were the first words out of our 7-year old grandson's mouth when we opened the door and truer words could not have been spoken!! The lodge is very spacious, clean, and fully stocked. Pam and Steve provide everything you need for a wonderful vacation. We were lucky enough to spend a week there with our daughter and three young grandsons. We enjoyed shopping in Ennis, visiting Yellowstone National Park, visiting Virginia City, and best of all, relaxing...especially in the jacuzzi! The boys loved hiking around the property and especially playing by the river. Hoping to return with more of the family!!

Truly Amazing!! We can't wait to go back!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I were lucky enough to get to spend a week here at Elk View Lodge and we had the most remarkable time! This was our first visit to Montana and we can not wait to go back. We drove up from Southern California and stopped along the way to see Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon. Both completely worth the trip. When we arrived at Elk View, Steve was there to greet us. He showed us around the lodge and gave us a lot of information about adventures and place to see near by. Elk View Lodge itself was amazing. Very clean and well maintained, very spacious and plenty of room for a large family. The lodge was completely stocked with everything you will need. You will only need to bring your food. The kitchen was also completely stocked with everything from spices to a crock pot! Oh and what a view, spectacular! We visited Virginia City and Nevada City and had fun walking through site seeing and taking pictures. Ennis is the closest town with shopping and plenty of places to eat. West Yellowstone was about a 45 minute drive and was absolutely a must see. We also took a day trip to Jackson Hole Wyoming to see the Grand Tetons. Awesome! The town itself was a wonderful place to visit. Lots of cute boutiques, art museums, shopping and quaint restaurants. This is a place you will want to see. And if you are an angler, then you will be pleased! There are so many lakes, Quake Lake, Cliff and Wade Lakes and Ennis Lake, just to name a few. And of course the Madison river which is just down from the Lodge. These lakes are all beautiful and surprisingly not very busy for the middle of August. One day, Steve was nice enough to drive us up river so we could kayak back down to the lodge. That was so much fun! In the evenings we would sit out on the patio and watch the beautiful sunsets over the Madison River. A couple of nights we saw some incredible thunder and lightning shows. Not something we see to often in Southern California. Montana was truly an amazing place to see and Elk View Lodge is the place you will want to stay. Pam and Steve were awesome hosts and they have thought of everything you might need. The descriptions and the pictures are accurate but really do not do it justice. Your really have to see the place. I would recommend Elk View Lodge to any of my friends and family and we are looking forward to being able to visit again. Thank you Pam and Steve for a truly amazing vacation that we will never forget!

Perfect Vacation Property!

  • 5 of 5

This property is perfect if you have a large group. We had a minimum of 6 and maximum of 8 with two dogs and we were very comfortable. The house is in the perfect location for sightseeing, within an hour you can to go West Yellowstone, passing Quake Lake and Hebgen Lake which is a beautiful drive. Another must see area is Wade and Cliff Lake, the water is turquoise and crystal clear, a perfect spot for fishing or floating. Just past the town of Ennis is Virginia City; it is completely dog friendly and like stepping back into the 1800s. Pam and Steve were excellent hosts! The property is fully stocked with everything you could imagine, we only had to bring food and drinks. The Madison River is walking distance from the house, but we choose to drive down to the day camping area a mile away, there are flat areas for your chairs and fishing was great. If you like to float, the Madison was a lot of fun! I completely endorse this property for vacation, it provided great memories for our family and friends!
