Great view, great house

  • 5 of 5

While the river access wasn't as easy, due to the distance from the water and the typical bowling ball size rocks you'll ll this stretch of the Madison that's nicknamed the "50-mile riffle," the views and the house itself are beautiful. Great place to watch the thunderstorms roll in across the valley, and Steve the host is very helpful. Cleanliness is first-rate. For best wading fishing, try "The Narrows" near Ennis. Or, hire a float trip--Bill, VRBO owner #385771

This warm, inviting mountain home boasts beautiful log furniture to complete the Montana feel.--Denise

Great trip

  • 5 of 5

Just got home from a 4 day stay at the Elk View Lodge. This is a great home and in a beautiful location. The house has everything you need and is very clean. Steve is a wonderful host and is there to answer questions and to help make your trip the best ever. Even though the drive to Yellowstone takes a little time, it is so much better than staying in West Yellowstone and fighting the crowds. We even saw Big Horn Sheep on the way to the park! If you are in the area to fish, you couldn't find a better location and property.

Wonderful and amazing

  • 5 of 5

This was an absolute slice of heaven! The house was amazing, the views to die for! The pictures do not do it justice. Everything was truly perfect. The hosts were amazing and took great care of us while we were there. I would go back in a heartbeat. All the amenities were available and it was an easy drive to entertainment and dining. Miss it already! Don't hesitate to book a week at Elk View Lodge!

Amazing Stay with Breathtaking Views

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I celebrated our 1st Anniversary in this beautiful home with our 5 year-old golden retriever! The views of the mountains from the house are absolutely amazing! We enjoyed fly fishing on the Madison River and driving down to Yellowstone for a day. Steve was a wonderful host and it was a great trip despite the weather not being ideal! Thanks so much for a wonderful stay.

Great vacation house

  • 5 of 5

We spent a wonderful week at Elk View Lodge. The views from every window were spectacular. The house is comfortable, well equipped, and well situated for those who want to fish, visit Yellowstone National Park, Virginia City and Wade Lake. Our friends from Maine joined us and we enjoyed all of the above, plus cooking, relaxing in the hot tub and reading on the screened-in porch. Our one complaint was that we only stayed a week! Steve offered us every accommodation and more than answered our questions. We hope to come back soon.

Beautiful home with great hosts/owners

  • 5 of 5

The Elk View Lodge provided and excellent location from which to venture forth, south into Yellowstone and north to Ennis, Virginian and Nevada Cities. We were greeted by Pam and Steve who provided everything from directions to wine. They are genuine, warm and accommodating hosts. The home is very much as advertised and was very clean!!! The views are incredible, especially appreciated while sitting in the jacuzzi. We had everything we needed and more with plenty of room to spread out. There were nine adults in our party which was comprised of old friends and family members aged 25 to 88 and we all had a wonderful week. We were especially thankful that our dog was welcome.
