We wanted a year-round vacation house that offered swimming, boating, sailing and kayaking in the summer and skiing in the winter. The family-friendly neighborhood was an added attraction.
We have privacy in a beautiful setting and a community right there if we choose to participate. We enjoy the lake, going for walks, playing tennis nearby, hiking, kayaking and great skiing for the whole family in the winter. It's a peaceful place with the most amazing star gazing imaginable.
We rented this property for a summer family vacation with our kids and young grandchildren. Everyone was instantly happy with the accommodations. The home has a really warm feel to it because of all of the beautiful wooden walls and ceilings. We loved sitting on the front porch, and the neighbors were all extremely friendly and helpful.
The kitchen is the hub of activity, and there is plenty of room for everyone to gather around the large counter. The sandy beach by the dock area is small, but a short walk away, and perfect for toddlers and preschoolers who like to dig in the sand and paddle around in the water. There is a real neighborhood feel to the area. The property has a couple of kayaks and a canoe, which our family enjoyed using. The owners were extremely accommodating and helpful.
The house is lovingly cared for. We liked that towels and sheets were provided, and all we had to do was leave them by the washing machine when we left. One day we took the little ones to the Montshire Museum in Norwich, Vermont, and they loved all the hands-on activities there.
We celebrated our anniversary by having a delicious meal at the Flying Goose Restaurant in New London.
There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. We had great weather and enjoyed family meals out on the back deck. It was a wonderful vacation.
Boat Tours on lake daily in the summer. Dinner Cruise also available.
