Retired business owner from California living the surfing lifestyle on the North Shore. I enjoy to garden, grow exotic fruits especially avocados, make fruit wine, surf, boogie board, swim and walk the many beautiful beaches.

Affordable, spacious, scenic and quiet.
We really did enjoy our stay here. The place was large, the neighborhood was super nice. Our first day we took a walk from the house and could see the ocean from above. Even though we had to ask he provided us with chairs and a cooler. We were there for Valentines day and he gave us two bottles of home made wine. They were really good! Also endless avocados!! When we first got there he had a basket of them and other fruit he grew on his property. Plus chips and guacamole. :) It was a long drive over there so that was nice. It was a little hard to find especially since we arrived at night. i wasn't expecting it but the property is actually very high. the road there is very steep and winding. You cant walk to the town from this place. I also wish that he had curtains on the windows above the sink. There are bushes on the other side but when the neighbors walk by (which isnt a lot) i still feel a little exposed. I do love that this place is super private. He also let us use his washing machine. We were actually on the island for three weeks and ended up camping at one point. i love the big bathroom and large shower!!! The fridge was also stalked with some items so that was a nice surprise. I felt everything was clean and property is well taken care of!
This place exceeded my expectations! It was reasonably priced. It was very private and in a quiet neighborhood. It is located up the hill about a short mile or so from one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. You will have your own garage! A grocery store is located at the bottom of the hill but Burt, the owner, recommends that you stock up on groceries in Pearl City before you arrive to save $. There are many good restaurants in Haleiwa which is a few miles down the road. Burt, the owner is a great guy! After we cleaned up the house we thought we double checked everything but unfortunately forgot about the garage door opener which was left in the rental car after we left the island. We called the rental company and they had it in their lost and found. Burt was real cool about the situation and told us not to worry and picked it up on his next trip to Honolulu. The house is new and very clean. There is a private outdoor shower used to keep the sand from inside the house. The kitchen has everything you need except a toaster but I am sure if you ask he will have one for you to use. There is a washer and dryer available at Burt's house next door. I also want to mention that he has tons of fruit trees (mostly avocados of course) in his yard. You can pick what you need. You will be greeted with his awesome avocado dip! The North Shore is much better than Waikiki. Less people, less traffic, more fun! I would definitely come back! Thank you Burt for your hospitality!
