Walk to Beach from Our Quiet Garden Cottage at Sunset Beach, set in a fenced in green tropical landscaped yard, great for a couple. Walk to Backyards, Sunset, V-land and Pipeline. No smoking. Some of the unique things about our property is the quiet setting, the enclosed yard, and close proximity to the 'seven mile miracle's beautiful beaches; our property provides a real North Shore feel.

Sunset Beach and Unique Benefits of this Cottage : We bought our property as our home, living in the main house and use to long term the cottage but we like the flexibility that short term renting provides so we decided to switch over. I think one of the unique things about our property is the quiet setting, the enclosed yard, and close proximity to the 'seven mile miracle' beautiful beaches; our property provides a real North Shore feel.

Disclaimer: The North Shore is considered the country because of it's laid back, small town vibe. There is only one hotel within miles of the cottage and while there are many nature loving activities to do around here, we are not known for our fantastic dining or shopping options on this side of the island. Also, it is important to remember that this is a tropical climate, being such, there are tropical creatures. I have many guess surprised by the geckos, which are a part of every house in Hawaii unless large amounts of poisons are sprayed monthly. Considering poisons are toxic to people and the environment and geckos are not, I choose, as most people who live here, to live in peace with the geckos. So, if you think you will not be able to coexist with the geckos you should probably book yourself a hotel. If you are not up to being surrounded by the simplicity of nature, a hotel in Waikiki might be a better option for you.

Beyond great :)))

My partner and I stayed at Dali's cottage for 9 nights on our 2 weeks surf trip to the North Shore and we wish we have booked to stay on the cottage the whole time. We totally recommend this place if you want a peaceful and well located little home to enjoy the real aloha. When we arrived, the cottage was fresh and very clean! It has got all the amenities you will need during your stay. Dali is very nice and quickly responded to us when we requested new bed linens, they were there at the next day with no problems + two clean extra towels.

We loved the bike rides from the cottage to Pipeline! Sunset Beach is just so close and the sunsets sessions there are absolutely positive vibes.

We loved every single day spent in the cottage as it really felt like a little home to us. Definitely looking forward to come back anytime soon! Hawaii is amazing and everyone deserves a little bit of this paradise just make sure you take care of the land while spending your time there!

Mahalos!!!!

Sunset Beach lives up to its name with incredibly colorful sunsets

Quiet, close to beach, bikes to ride, incredible sunsets...

This was our first stop on our Hawaii vacation and we spent a week here. The open studio cottage is just right for two people. There's a big dresser and armoire so you can unpack and feel like you live there for a while. It was a safe location and we left the windows open during the day and while we slept to keep the air moving through the unit. The kitchen is basic but has what you need when you are on vacation to make a quick breakfast or even to cook an entire meal. Ted's Bakery nearby offers Hawaiian favorites like Loco Moco and Plate Lunch dinners for very reasonable prices, so why cook? Grocery store is about 3 miles away and has a good selection of take out and deli foods. There's a nice porch to sit out and enjoy your coffee in the morning.

The beach is incredible and only 2 blocks away. It's a quick bike ride. There were some October days with big sets of 25-30' waves, which is unusual that early in the season, and we were mesmerized by them and the die-hard but laid back mentality of the surfers. There is something to be learned from these guys and gals, for sure: when the conditions are right, stop everything you are doing, get to the shore, and do what you love.

We plan to go back to this unit again, so that tells you something. Dali was a pleasure to work with, though we never got the opportunity to meet her, she was always there by email and text when I had a question.

A really nice relaxing place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed staying at Dali's place. The cottage was very comfortable and well set out with everything you would need. The lanai looking out onto the garden was a great place to read a book when it rained or drink a beer after a day in the water. We appreciated the use of the bikes and snorkel gear and Dali was really helpful and responsive to any question we asked.

cosy , studio with fully equipped kitchen

the studio was all that we hoped for. It was very relaxing sitting on the porch in the afternoons after a swim at the nearby beaches. Dali was really helpful and easy to speak with.

Good location and reasonable value

No air cond is not usually an issue but this little hot box was about 20 degrees warmer than outside - no cross flow ventilation as the fly screen to the front door was ripped and inoperable. 'Host' didn't provide any check in details apart from address. We arrived and just let ourselves in! I called owner but she didn't bother ringing back. No welcome note or anything! Property was ok but not very clean and lacked maintenance (some lights not working, remote for tv not working, dodgy gas hot plates, lots of minor issues) - photos are not what you get on arrival, they are about 6 years old. Took at least half hour to find kitchen light switch(under bench top). Bathroom Windows hadn't been cleaned for years ( had moss growing on them). Tenants in neighbouring house complained at 11pm of our very quiet music (we had to turn it off) on a friday night, then the following night they were very loud till about 1am! Lucky we found nearby private access to a great beach which was the highlight of our stay. Ok for the price, but disappointed with owners attitude and approach to guests.

North Shore Oasis

  • 5 of 5

My love and I found ourselves completely within the beauties of this amazing cottage! The porch was our sanctuary, the kitchen our morning ritual, and the beach across the street our heaven! Such an authentic experience staying in the residential neighborhood of Oahu. We felt 100% safe and loved the privacy of our temporary love nest! :-) Would recommend to any couple who wants to enjoy a romantic getaway. When we return to Oahu, hopefully this little gem will still be an option for our reunion to the island.
