Luxury Beach Living. A five star vacation awaits you. This (4 BEDROOM ~ 3 BATH) home that was completed in 2012 is filled with custom built touches throughout, including inlaid surfboard in the kitchen floor, kiotomy made rock countertops, the famous "wave stairwell" as well as custom built master suite and bath on top level. This property is GREAT and VERY UNIQUE!! Located just (2.5 BLOCKS FROM THE BEACH), a couple minute walk. This raised up beach home (SLEEPS 10).

Located right by the community tennis and basketball courts on the quiet and less traveled Cooper Avenue. The enjoyable walk or bike ride down to Center Street is 5 blocks. Also, BRAND NEW in 2016, the house is now pet friendly and the yard is fully fenced in.

Enjoy the (OVER-SIZED FRONT PORCHES) with plenty of outside furniture on the main level as well as off the master suite upstairs. Play Horseshoes on the new horseshoe court or relax on the outside hammock! Entertain on the large porch and around the provided (GAS GRILL). There's an (OUTDOOR PRIVATE SHOWER) with hot and cold running water.

There is a long term tenant that lives in the apartment below the property on the Erie Ave side. His parking and entrance is totally separate and is at the back side of the property (he is a very respectful tenant that keeps to himself...their has never been an issue)

Equipped kitchen is high end, with custom made counter tops, custom cabinets, and all new appliances. The Master Suite is over and beyond with a "relax nook" divided by 200 year old doors from India. The Master Bath is all tile and custom stone work with a one of a kind (OPEN AIR JACUZZI TUB)! You will be very satisfied with the Owner's taste and the high end quality of this home. For the price, you cant beat it. Come relax on Folly in luxury.

very disappointed

This is the second year we rented this property. Last year we dealt with bats, roaches, leaking roof and sewer smell so bad upstairs we had to call the fire dept. Shame on me for thinking this year 2015 would be any better. Roaches were worse, leaks were worse, this time even in the bunks, so my grandsons had to sleep on the couches. Washer turned laundry neon yellow, knob on dryer was broken and had to use needle nose pliers to operate. Management company only took action on the roaches, a little too late after seeing many roaches running around the bunk beads. Everything else seemed to be a non issue on their part. My family loved the location and the unique design of the house. The cost of the property included insurance to protect the owner from damages but there was nothing to protect us from the notable burdens and inconveniences we encountered at Surf Chalet during our stay. We have been vacationing on Folly Beach for over 20 years and never had an issue until the last 2 years .

disappointed

first of all let me say the house was clean when we arrived. however this house was infested with roaches it had been weeks since rain so that's not an excuse. the outside grounds are a disaster not kept up at all. front porch not usable due to mosquitos should be screened in. no suitable table and chairs only stools and only 4 we were a party of 6. I have been renting in Folly Beach since 2010 and have never been this disappointed in a rental.

Couldn't be happier!

I came with several other girls for a bachelorette weekend. The house was beautifully designed and very clean and well kept. The uniquely designed is spacious and comfortable for a large group of people or a family. The location is perfect, I can't imagine renting anywhere else on Folly Beach. We can't wait to go back!

Paradise with Extra visitors

My family and I came into town for the weekend for a wedding. The lay out of the house was very nice. When we arrived the front door key code was broken, when management was called they stated they would send someone out to see if it was the battery that needed to be replaced. We waited around and no one came by. Management was called again, the reply to the door issue was they just leave it un locked. There were also strict rules about cleaning the floor of beach sand, when we arrived there was dirt and dead roaches in which I spent about 45 min sweeping the house. The response from management about the roaches and also roach legs found on our towels was "we live with them". They did come and replace some of the towel. During our 3 day stay we had many live roaches and a large spider found on the floors and counter tops. The bed in one of the guest bedroom was broken. It made it for a uneasy visit. Beautiful property but Dirty.

Owner's Response: Hello Guest, We are very sorry for the inconveniences during your stay. We have had an incredible amount of rain this past 3 weeks, way more than normal, and no matter how much the homes are treated during such high water levels, the bugs will make their way in. The pest control companies do all they can which is usually plenty, but sometimes under extreme rain situations, the bugs will get in. Unfortunately, it's part of living on an island that is so low with weak drainage. We only asked you to keep the door unlocked, so our maintenance could get in to change the battery on the electric door lock, since it is on the inside. Again sorry for the issues you encountered, but we hope to be able to make it up to you in the future. Thank you!
