My family and another family with kids enjoyed a wonderful weekend at the Zoback Cabin, fortunately catching the biggest snow of the 2015-2016 season. The house was comfortably furnished and located in a nice residential area with direct access to Royal Gorge from the back yard, and only about 10 minutes' drive to Sugar Bowl (less to Soda Springs Ski). We enjoyed using the fireplace in the living room, and there was plenty of firewood in the garage. There is also a fireplace in the main bedroom that we used. There was one in one of the smaller bedrooms, but it did not work. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cutlery etc., allowing us to have all our meals in the house. Since the cabin is located near Soda Springs before the Donner Pass, it's an easy 3-hour drive from the Bay Area. I would highly recommend it.
