Perfect place for a large group to enjoy

  • 4 of 5

We had a great family reunion at the Penrod home. The layout is ideal for family cohesiveness without being on top of each other. Loved the large dining table that ALL 12 of us could fit around. The Cabin is very well stocked especially the kitchen, lots of seasonings, sandwich bags, large platters and cooking utensils and plenty of dishes for everyone, but no stemmed wine glasses. It would have been nice if there were some empty cabinets for us to put our food in. There was a lot of food in the cabinets (much of it expired) so we left our food in bags on the counter during our stay. Everything worked great. Plenty of sleeping room and bathrooms for everyone. The water heater gave us plenty of hot showers. We took the canoe out in the lake and really enjoyed the use of it. (Had no problem with the trolley that is provided.) There looked to be some nice quality bikes in the garage, (4 adult bikes I think), although we did not use them. The outdoor grill is not gas, you have to buy coals and lighter fluid. All in all a very nice place for the entire group.

Our family spent 3 nights here and it was absolutely lovely. Plenty of space for everyone, great open floor plan in the living area, and lots of natural sunlight. We'll definitely be back - thank you!

Family fun with plenty of room

  • 5 of 5

We had such a wonderful time at the Penrod Home. The kids loved the loft! They had fun building forts out of the sleeping mats and it was nice that they had their own space. The rooms were all spacious and it was wonderful having 4 bathrooms! The guys had a great time playing pool and there were even bikes for the adults to ride. We brought our own bikes not knowing that there were bikes there, but its good to know for next time. Also loved that there were 2 fridges (1 in the kitchen and 1 in the garage), which I didn't notice mentioned in the description. We put all of our beverages down in the garage/pool table room so the guys didn't have to leave the room to grab a beer! We had a great time at the homeowners beach. We brought plenty of sand toys so the kids enjoyed building sandcastles and moats with the friends they made. The fishing is great too! Everyone that fished caught at least one a day and my husband always takes the kids on the canoe to the "best fishing spot on the lake!" Fishing is catch and release, but this is what we do anyways. The canoe was fun too, but taking it back and forth to the cabin every night was kinda difficult. It wasn't that far to the launch and there was a trolley, but we couldn't figure out an easy way to use it, so the men just carried it back and forth every day. We've rented cabins in the past that had spots on the homeowners beach, which made it a little easier, but that wasn't a big issue. Overall we couldn't have asked for a better vacation or cabin rental. We would recommend this cabin to anyone and look forward to coming again!

We were "wow'd"

  • 5 of 5

The property was excellent. This was our first time to Soda Springs and I believe our group hit the jackpot. We organized our first annual couple retreat: 4 couples (late 20s, early 30s) and no kids. The cabin had everything we were looking for: plenty of cookware and dishes, lots of comfortable seating, a big table, a bbq, a pool table. comfortable beds, a bathroom and queen size bed for each couple, 7 bikes, a canoe, the list goes on. We are excited to have future retreats in the exact same cabin. We had no complaints! The communication from the property manager was excellent and the cabin was extremely clean. Thank you!
