I own and manage Bee Naturals Skincare and have lived in Clarksville for 18 years. I reside in a restored 1894 Victorian home and have many furry 'kids' love to cook, travel, read and formulate skin care products.
Barbara purchased this apartment in 2004
The beauty and atmosphere of this historic river town are so appealing that I decided to live here. I feel like I'm on vacation, yet I'm only an hour from St. Louis. It doesn't get any better than this!
The property is quiet and private and I feel completely recharged after a day or two, plus I can enjoy interacting with the local artisans.
Everything needed for the stay was available. The beds were comfortable, plenty of utensils and cooking supplies available. Great location overlooking the Mississippi River & Lock and Dam #24. The TV's could use an upgrade along with the Direct TV programming. The capability of playing music and VHS/CD video's was abundant with many selections. I would recommend this location for anyone traveling in the Clarksville area.
We were in town for an event at Overlook Farm and the location could not be better, just two minutes down the road.
Overall, it was a beautiful, clean, spacious apartment. We had 4 adults sharing the two bedrooms but could have accommodated a couple more. Although we had some initial issues getting in touch, Barb showed us in and around the apartment and was very nice and knowledgeable about the area.
A bonus was all the Bee Naturals products stocked in the bathrooms. Plenty of clean towels and linens too.
Cons: a couple of uneven steps going down to get to the outside door, the entry is being overtaken by nature (plants and spider webs). The apartment also seems to have a minor bug problem but it did not interfere with our positive experience.
I would definitely recommend due to the location in Clarksville, size, and overall cleanliness.
Barbara, the owner of the property, was very warm and friendly to us. Her Clarksville property that we rented from her was spacious and accommodated our family of six. The place was clean, organized, and furnished. The morning before we left, we used the waffle maker provided in the kitchen. That is just one of the many things the kids enjoyed while staying in Clarksville. We had no issues or concerns during our stay. I would recommend Barbara's property to anybody traveling to this area that is in need of a place to stay for a few nights. We couldn't have asked for a better person to rent from. She was even kind enough to give us a gift during our stay.
Very nice and comfortable place. People are extremely nice and friendly to deal with. Will stay again!!
We had such a great trip to The Bee Hive Inn last Thanksgiving. It was extremely clean (we have very high standards) and family friendly. We enjoyed walking around the little town, visiting the shops, viewing to locks and eagle watching. Bee Naturals (the store below the Inn) has such fantastic products!!! The town does not have much in the restaurant department, but the town Louisiana (just north) has a number of options. The train runs close by, but never caused us any issues sleeping and our children (and us too) loved watching it go by. The nature preserve near by offered some good eagle watching as well. Barbara, the owner, was great to work with and very responsive and welcoming! We will be sure to visit The Bee Hive Inn again!!!
Very nice. Kitchen a bit small only one person could cook. Had trouble with DVD. Called Barbara and she had a friend come and get it working. Beds comfy. Back steps very poor condition. Icy salt didn't help. Had a minor fall. Saw lots of eagles! Tubbys was really good for lunch! Products in store really nice. Liked the free $25.00.
If you like antiques, you will love the Clarksville Antique Center. Allow hours to browse; it huge! Our property is located in the intimate, artisan filled, historic downtown area. See furniture, chair makers, a potter, and glassblowers at work. Take a leisurely drive to historic Louisiana, MO or Hannibal, MO, or perhaps a drive into St. Louis for a visit to the spectacular St. Louis Zoo, Forest Park or one of the many museums.
