Apartment, 2 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 5-6)
I own and manage Bee Naturals Skincare and have lived in Clarksville for 18 years. I reside in a restored 1894 Victorian home and have many furry 'kids' love to cook, travel, read and formulate skin care products.
Barbara purchased this Apartment in 2004
Why Barbara chose Clarksville
The beauty and atmosphere of this historic river town are so appealing that I decided to live here. I feel like I'm on vacation, yet I'm only an hour from St. Louis. It doesn't get any better than this!
What makes this Apartment unique
The property is quiet and private and I feel completely recharged after a day or two, plus I can enjoy interacting with the local artisans.

Clean and pretty with a view of the river
We stayed one night in the very pretty apartment in Clarksville. We were attending the annual Chili Cookoff which was right across the street, so very convenient too! The apartment had everything we needed and was nice, clean and comfortable. (The t.v. was a hassle...a new smart t.v. would be nice). I do wish that they would have had their Bee Naturals products in the bath so I could have tried them! The shop is right downstairs, so you can get some while you're there. It's a beautiful large 2 br apartment. Do stay here when you're in the area!
The apartment was wonderful - Everything very clean, attractive, well supplied, up-to-date, and the owner and her employee were both very pleasant & helpful. The back entryway bushes need to be trimmed.
The riverview was beautiful. We woke up when the passing trains blew their whistles at night but went right back to sleep. We went to Louisiana for Mass on Sunday and had breakfast at Mom & Pop's there - very nice. Around the corner in Clarksville, Tubby's Pub & Grub had great hamburgers, fries, & slaw.
Thank you for your review and unfortunately the utility company trimmed the bushes...all the way down to the ground!:(
Great location, fantastic owner
The place was spotless and all as advertised. Owner even went out and bought a new grill for us to use. Clean and very welcoming. The place had all the kitchen gadgets, utensils and appliances one could think of. The unit was well stocked with condiments, drinking water, coffee etc. The washer and dryer were a plus for a quick clean after a long hike. Can't wait to bring the family back here.
We didn't get to stay nearly long enough--just one night on the way south to see the eclipse. But this was the ideal place to spend the night. Barbara kindly met us, showed us around, and even gave us many tips about good eating and driving in the surrounding area. And the apartment itself is large and very well renovated. Thanks, Barbara.
Thank you for your kind review and we hope to see you again!
Immaculate with all the amenities
Driving in from Hannibal we had to detour around Louisiana due to bridge repairs,so we ended up taking some county roads. Barbara the owner was so nice and drove to the outskirts of town to meet us and lead us in. One of the nicest VRBO/HomeAway /Air homes we've ever stayed at. Met a few local folks while walking along the river. Everyone is super nice and welcoming. Great spot to explore Hannibal, Pere Marquette State park, Cahokia Mounds and St Louis. Only thing missing was a balcony out front to enjoy the river view. Would definitely come back!
If you like antiques, you will love the Clarksville Antique Center. Allow hours to browse; it huge! Our property is located in the intimate, artisan filled, historic downtown area. See furniture, chair makers, a potter, and glassblowers at work. Take a leisurely drive to historic Louisiana, MO or Hannibal, MO, or perhaps a drive into St. Louis for a visit to the spectacular St. Louis Zoo, Forest Park or one of the many museums.
