Charming 1BR Saint Leonard Bungalow Overlooking Wells Cove

Bedrooms 1
Half Baths1
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

Saint Leonard, Maryland

Come relax at this charming updated one bedroom bungalow. It overlooks the waters of Wells Cove, a tributary to the Patuxent River which is itself, a tributary to the Chesapeake Bay. This cottage is secluded from the main house, surrounded by water and a wild flower meadow.

Somewhat secluded from neighbors and the main house, you'll find this cottage cozy and romantic. It is charmingly decorated with a blend of antiques and art deco pieces. Sitting on the back deck you can watch the wildlife on Wells Cove: blue herons, jumping fish, ospreys, and gulls. In addition you'll have access to a private pier on the Cove where you can canoe, fish and crab. Head to the private swimming pool, located on the property, for a nice swim during those warm sunny days. The pool is stocked with many amenities including chaises, umbrellas, tables and rafts which you'll have access to.

Feel free to take the canoe out on the water or bring your own kayaks or similar small craft to enjoy on the Cove. Just outside your door you can enjoy swimming, boating, water sports, and crabbing! Other things to enjoy locally include nature walks/hiking on American Chestnut Land Trust trails and at Cypress Swamp Park, charter fishing at Solomons Island, fossil hunting at Calvert Cliffs State Park and wine tours at local vineyards. Look out for outdoor concert series happening during your time of stay. The Calvert Marine Museaum and Jeffeson Patterson Park Museum are two other great locations to visit.

Lovely little cottage!

  • 5 of 5

My fiancé and I had such a sweet time here! We came early thanks to ms. Cheryl. From the moment we walked in, this little cottage was so clean, and vintage yet updated, all white, bright and cheery. So cute! The views are beautiful, the pool is so relaxing and the outdoor shower was my favorite! The decor was so cute and everything was high end, from the toiletries, to the linens. There is just a small area for food and no stove, so eating out a lot will probably be your go to. But that didn't bother us at all! We ate great local food, mm mm mm! Check out the frying pan in lusby. Delicious! We brought a lot of food with us not knowing the kitchen setup completely but we were prepared because ms Cheryl offered us more room for food in a much bigger fridge in the pool house. Propane grill was great! The bed is a double/full bed so it's a little bit of a struggle for two bigger adults lol, but was pretty comfy. The last day I woke up for the sunrise on the dock and it was beautiful. Overall, Cheryl's place is bright and airy, so peaceful and serene. I would describe it as glamping with high end amenities. Which is my style! But not everyone's. So just keep in mind, there's a little work to cook and clean dishes and stuff but the place is totally worth checking out! We thank you so much ms. Cheryl for our wonderful stay!

The property is beautiful, great for bird watching and relaxing. The cottage is suprsingly roomy and very clean. The outdoor shower was just fine, and neat at night under the stars.

Quaint and perfect for our quick weekend away!

  • 4 of 5

The cottage was well taken care of and very comfortable. A few things that we loved was the use of the pool and the outside shower. We met the homeowner and she was very nice and even gave a bit of history of the surrounding area. We had a nice, relaxing time. We'll come back here!

Nice and quit

  • 5 of 5

Nice little place which was perfect for my 3 day stay for business in the area. Enjoyed the quit times and nice scenery. Using the outdoor shower was fun. Even took out the canoe for a leisure ride around the lake. The owner (Cheryl) was very accommodating and nice to talk to. Will go back again if the timings right.

Attractive secluded bungalow

  • 3 of 5

The bedroom was very nice, linen and towels were top of the line. However, as a whole I would describe our stay as somewhere between a nice hotel room and camping. The bungalow provides a half bath indoors and a roofless outdoor shower. Bring a lantern or flashlight if you prefer evening showers. Plan on eating out, as there is no kitchen. A small microwave and very small refrigerator are provided. Bring a card table, or similar, if you would like to enjoy a meal on the deck. Two small round tables (approx. 20") are available.

Fishing is good. My wife caught 10 small fish. We did have fun.
