Owner / Property Manager purchased this house in 2002
We (a family of 4 with kids ages 5 and 8) spent 4 days at this property. The house is wonderfully located within a short drive of several activities perfect for our age of kids. Favourites included, Dinosaur Valley State Park, Dinosaur World, Big Rocks Park and Fossil Rim Safari park.
The house itself is spotless and extremely well equipped with everything you could need for your stay, down to toiletries, dog bowls, snacks and games.
The guide left by the owner was very useful and took the guess work out of what to do and where to eat. This lead to a stress free fun long weekend.
The cabin at Glen Rose was well maintained with plenty of linens and a wonderful screened in back porch. The cabin is a must stay if you are traveling to Glen Rose!
We stayed in Glen Rose with our dog and our young kids for two nights over Spring Break. The location was great - halfway between Big Rocks Park (which we went to 3 days in a row!) and downtown. The cottage itself was perfect for our needs. We spent most of our time on the screened-in deck. The kitchen was extremely well-stocked (better than any other VRBO place we have stayed.) My kids loved trying a different cereal each morning. We also played a lot of checkers, cards, and shut-the-box.The house was clean, cozy, and had a great big backyard. I wish the backyard was fenced as the road gets a lot of traffic, but that's just a minor quibble.
My husband and I had our grandchildren for Spring Break and enjoyed the cottage in Glen Rose so very much. I have had many other vacation rentals, but this one was just as described. I have already recommended it to friends and look forward to staying there again. My only recommendation is for a drive entrance that is a little more off the main road. It had rained and was a bit muddy... would have felt safer in getting kids in and out of the van if we'd have a driveway. Still, it was a wonderful 5-star experience.
We took our 4.5 year old and 15 month old sons to Glen Rose for a short family getaway. Upon booking, we quickly received an email from the owner giving us a complete "Guide" to the house and the locale. The house is WONDERFUL! The owner has thought of everything: snacks on the counter to take on outings, easy lunch meals in the cupboard, coffee/creamer, spices and butter for cooking dinner. With the ages of our kids, we intended to eat most meals at the house and the amenities made that goal easy. As for other aspects of the house, the owner has taken no shortcuts/cheap routes: everything is high end (super comfortable bed, I'm guessing a tempurpedic), quality furniture, Smart TV/blu ray player/DVDs for kids and adults alike, toiletry essentials a traveler may forget, laundry essentials, and a pack N play for babies. The water pressure in the house is also fantastic. Best of all, the house is within 4-5 miles of all the major attractions. Easy, relaxing trip - We had a great time! Thank you!!
I took my 5 year old grandson to see Dinosaur Valley State Park during the winter break. Weather was chilly but we bundled up, and with everything so close, we got out often. Loved Big Rock Park! Best part for me though was being able to come "home" to such a wonderful place. And it truly felt like home because of all the beautiful details. (All the posted photos tell that story). We played the all the games they had out, read their dinosaur books on an extremely comfy couch and enjoyed the bounty of snacks and mac cheese, grandson's favorite! Come bed time . . . oh, ALL the beds were extremely comfortable. He feel right out and I enjoyed curly up with their great selection of local history books.
We are already looking forward to another trip back when the weather is warmer and we can get in the beautiful clear water of the Paluxy River.
Thank you for sharing such a beautiful place!
