Beautiful, private beachfront property, well maintained clean cozy cottage, with lovely owners. True Nova Scotia hospitality.
We very much enjoyed our stay, the cottage has everything we needed and was very clean and comfortable.
The setting is very beautiful as well as peaceful and relaxing. The only negative comment that can be made is that there is a paper mill located near Pictou, when the wind is blowing in the wrong direction there is a smell from the mill that is just awful. During our stay the smell was bad maybe 10-15% of the time and mostly at night. This is obviously not the fault of the owners, but something a potential renter should be aware of.
This is our third visit to this comfortable, well-located, well-cared-for cottage. The location is perfect for our purposes as we have connections and friends in Pictou County. Coming from hot, dry S. Alberta, the cool ocean breeze is wonderful! Secluded "in the birches", but close to town, other beautiful beaches. Owners are most hospitable and can't do enough to accomodate guests. This cottage is a perfect introduction to Northern N.S.
We can't recommend this property highLy enough!
Being an area expat, this cottage made me realize why I come back to visit. Peace and beauty abound here. Closeness to town also a great asset. Everything I thought I forgot to take was there. Cottage was very clean and the owners second to none. A true hidden gem. Hope I get to rent it again!
This is an incredible location overlooking the entrance to Pictou Harbor & the Northumberland Straits. Its private & quite with only the sound of surf & breeze. The house is well equiped, very tidy & comfortable. Sun rise & big sky viewing are spectacular. The Owners are exceptionally hospitable and a pleasure.
Fabulous cottage. Wish we had rented it for longer. The owners Bill and Ann are wonderful to deal with; so welcoming and they live close by if there was a problem. We didn't have any but they came down to meet us when we moved in and gave us lots of hints on the area. The cottage was spotless, very well equipped ; has all the amenities of home in a very quiet and beautiful setting. It's right on the beach; has nice deck, BBQ, high speed internet, satellite and many other extras. Fabulous view and close to many attractions like PEI ferry, Cape Breton and Halifax. We flew into Halifax and rented a car. Pictou is a very nice friendly little town. I would highly recommend this property and we will certainly rent it again.
