Guestbook comments from the manager

My husband and I rented this place to see my son who is at college. Although it was too cold to use the pool in October, we were able to getaway and have a fun time. It was so nice to relax, stay-in the house and cook meals, and enjoy the peace and quiet away from the busy city. We especially enjoyed the sauna, and the canoe rides with the fall foliage around the lake, the swans, and ducks. It was just simply breathtaking. We were also able to get my son's college laundry done with the washer/dryer that is available at the house. This was simply an affordable and great place to stay. Thanks to the owner for being so hospitable too; we will definitely be back.

Could have been cleaner and the kitchen better stocked. Enjoyed the deck.

  • 3 of 5

I'm all about quaint and charming. But dirty and run down? No thanks. Several light bulbs were out, the kitchen was a mess ( we had to clean everything before we could use it). Found a used bar of soap in the shower, everything was dusty. On the positive, the deck was a nice spot to enjoy coffee and the location was ideal for our visit. It had a nice gas 5 burner stove with double oven. Our first day there we saw two deer run across the back yard and enjoyed a visit from a chipmunk. My 7 year old had a blast with video game and soccer table. That was pretty cool. You should be aware that there is no bathroom upstairs. The toilet in the basement bath can only be used as a urinal. Also, upstairs bed is impossible to sleep in. It rattles everytime you move. The kitchen could use more dishes and towels and a full size garbage can. There was only a small one. We made the most of our stay since we came a very long way. I wasn't expecting it to be opulent. But I did expect it to be clean and well stocked.

We were happy with the property for the price

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed the property and the idea of a lake house. We were very impressed with the kindness of the owner when we left an iPad behind, we thought it might be lost forever but all it took was a quick text to the owner, they spoke with the cleaning team, and our iPad was in the mail within a couple of days! So glad there's still honest people.

Perfect relaxing week end

  • 5 of 5

It was a really nice and relaxing week end. All the instructions were clear to access the house and we were allowed to check in earlier.

The house itself was clean. We had towels and basic kitchen tools.

We enjoyed the pool and the bbq all week end. Sauna was really clean also.

Finally, the canoe on the lake was the final touch for a perfect week end. We were also able to check out later.

Thank you again for this relaxing moment !

Family gathering

  • 4 of 5

Good location. Check in was easy. Pool and sauna were terrific. Disappointed upon arrival as I expected the place to look like the pictures. The bathtub and shower were in need of a good scrubbing, rather gross. The door leading outside needed repair. Vines were growing on the side of the house over the air conditioner. The garage was filled with leaves, looked unkempt, lovely home just in need of tlc. Pictures present a pristine condition and this is not the case. Reported My concerns to the contact person and he did respond quickly. I think some monetary compensation is in order when this occurs. Besides that we had a terrific time fishing and boating except for the algae and dead turtles, which cannot reflect on the owner. Enjoyed the outside deck and will return as the location is terrific. The swing, fire pit and picnic table were a big plus. Thank you.
