About Vicki Pannone
We are Andy and Vicki Pannone and we have been married since 1982 and have four wonderful children. We live in Corpus Christi and started coming to the hill country with friends as newlyweds. As our family grew we began sharing our love of the Texas Hill Country with our children. All of us enjoy the great outdoors and love the hill country and we would love to share our 'piece of heaven' with you and yours. Our goal is to help you make memories with your loved ones!
Vicki Pannone purchased this Cabin in 2002
Why Vicki Pannone chose Leakey
Our family had been renting cabins in the area for several years and we all loved how excited we were to head to the hills, how relaxed we felt when we arrived and how we hated to leave at the end of our stay. Our family loves to hike Garner and Lost Maples, toob the Frio, play 'Monopoly Marathons', play gin rummy, roast marshmallows and enjoy s'mores while watching thousands of stars at night. By God's grace we found St. Clare's Cabin in 2002 and have turned it into a charming getaway for our guests.
What makes this Cabin unique
St. Clare's Cabin offers complete privacy as there is just one cabin on the property so you have the place to yourselves to relax and enjoy.Vicki's decorating and handiwork skills are evident throughout the cabin and she treats all her guests like family. She has tried to think of everything to make her guests feel loved and welcomed. Her hand embroidered pillow shams welcome guests into either the Cowboy Bedroom or the Americana Bedroom where the beds are amply supplied with fresh linens and homemade quilts. Vicki makes sure to leave a seasonal treat for all guests and doggie treats for our four legged guests.

Cute little secluded country place!
Thank you for your very kind words. We love to share this piece of heaven with our guests.
Great location. Loved our visit. Added bonus that our dogs were welcome and had so much space to enjoy.
Cabin away from it all
Enjoyed a cabin in the country away from it all. Especially loved playing in the river - access on the property. Loved that we could have a campfire! Only suggestion would be less antiques/decorations - taxidermy animals and photos were at times a little unsettling. Overall though great time!
Beautiful cabin and property. The creek was lovely and unique. Homemade icecream was a special treat. We will be staying here again!
Lovely Cabin and wonderful location
This cabin was perfect for our trip. The cabin is located on the most beautiful stretch of road. I did not not know views like this existed in Texas! Loved the drive in both directions! The cabin is cozy but with plenty of seating. The cabin is decorated with family heirlooms. Very pleasant.
Our dogs loved to play in the big yard and in water that run along side the property. The hammock was a real plus (great place to swing and enjoy the breeze or watch the sunset).
We cooked most of our meals during our stay and the kitchen was well stocked with pans and utensils. Vicki was very responsive to all inquiries and provided wonderful directions and suggestions of places to go.
Your cell phone will not work, but it is really nice to unplug from the texts and calls for a few days. The WiFi in the cabin worked wonderful so you can connect to the world if you need to. The cabin has a landline phone and Dish satellite but we enjoyed being outside so we never turned the TV on!
You are near Garner State park and Lost Maples Nature Area - great places to hike or play in the rivers. Make sure you go to Lost Maples Winery for a tasting, stop at the Bent Rim Grill in Leakey for a relaxing burger and run by the Lost Maples Cafe in Utopia for a piece of pie.
We had a wonderful, relaxing trip in large part due to the great cabin and its perfect location and wonderful views.
Already want to book my next stay!
Wonderful spot. Picture perfect cottage with all the comforts of home. Easy access to shallow river area-perfect for young kids. Ideal location near Garner/Lost Maples. Already missing "my spot" on the screened porch and in the hammock. We hope to be back soon!
Toobing the Frio River, hiking Lost Maples and Garner State Park, exploring The Texas Hill Country Wine Trail, shopping in nearby Fredricksburg, driving the Scenic Hill Country Trails, motoring on The Three Sisters on motorcycles or bikes, taking in area arts and crafts shows and rodeos
