Crow's Nest was so much more than I thought it would be. Myself and the other guests were awestruck and impressed by the property we arrived to. The house was very clean, and quaint. Beds were comfortable and there was a great supply of spices for us to use while we cooked (including 4 bottles of tumeric!) The wrap-around porch really is the highlight. The sun sets right in front of you. The lawn is massive, and the deck by the water (which was an excellent surprise) was fantastic for stargazing. I would absolutely recommend Crow's Nest to future renters, it's truly lovely. Margaret was readily available by phone and over email to answer my questions. Thanks for a lovely weekend, Margaret!
A great experience. The location was perfect for our big group, with plenty of beds, yard space, etc. Margaret was always available to answer my questions and made this trip very easy. Would love to stay here again.
I contacted Margaret Arndt about renting for a large family gathering of 24 people. She informed me that the family house next door was also available and so I coordinated with the Arndt family to rent both houses for the week. We could not be happier with this property. The house has a fabulous view from the front porch with gorgeous sunset views. The grounds are impeccable and you can walk, play lawn games, swim & kayak from a private dock area. Rooms are well kept and clean with a real "old world" charm. Some of the doors have markings from children who stayed there 50+ years ago. We watched outdoor movies on the deck, had great family meals and card games. I would highly recommend this property and the Arndt family are a pleasure to do business with. A+++
This seasonal camp is reminiscent of childhood summers at my Great Aunt's camp on Lake Ontario. The kitchen has everything you need, mattresses were new, antique furnishings, wood for the fireplace for those chilly Maine nights. Margaret was so accommodating and very quick to respond to questions. The perfect setting for a Bowdoin graduation reunion, only 15 minutes from campus. We hiked/ran on the trails at the oceanographic research center 3 minutes away. But the best part was sitting on the porch admiring the views!
