Tranquility on the lake

  • 3 of 5

Mostly as advertised - open rooms so no secrets are kept in the camp - great yard area and fire pit and a beautiful, convenient location - I was misled about the availability of internet, no matter what you are told, there is NO internet available! My reservation was never processed via VRBO (I sent a check directly to Kelly) so I never received any confirmation and I suspect she pocketed the VRBO fee that I paid. I also had to make contact five times and beg for a rental agreement, which I finally got a week before check in. Kitchen cabinets had everything needed, and more (please clean those cabinets out and throw away some crap!)

grandma's opinion

  • 4 of 5

spending the end of summer at Camp Sweetheart was a high for a big part of my family. We lived on the front porch; I got there first so I got that bed and noone dethroned me--I watched an osprey catch his breakfast (often 2 fish) a merganser dive for his and a great blue heron wade for his every morning. Whatever we needed was there if we just looked. We felt immersed in history and nature. Loved the kayaking. wonderful neighbors. Had great weather but were glad for one rainy day to enjoy the sound on the new metal roof. A great place overall! SallyJ

Great Vermont camp. Rustic with great lake access.

  • 5 of 5

Fantastic and huge porch that is perfect place for the family to gather and eat. Nice, cozy living room for rainy days, playing cards and reading. Our family especially liked the easy water access and the protected cove of Keeler Bay. After spending many summers on a cliffside cottage on the main lake, we enjoyed watching birds, catching fish, and kayaking in the calm water right outside our front door. Be aware that bedroom walls are only partitions and sound carries at night. All in all, we had a great stay and loved this rustic, homey cottage.

My home away from home.

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is so special to me and my family. I felt so relaxed and happy while we were there. I am so excited to be there this year again. Last week of August is our favorite time of the year. Will be renting this cabin for as long as I can. I can not thank you enough for sharing your home with us. Love this place so much. I love Vermont. Born and raised <3

Tranquil Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Spent a wonderful week at the cabin celebrating Father's Day with the whole crew. Enjoyed breathtaking sunsets on the hammock overlooking the lake, roasted s'mores in the fire pit, and caught almost 40 perch for a delicious fish dinner! A quiet place to get away with family and friends.

Fresh old-fashioned donuts made daily at Apple Market are within walking distance. Took an afternoon trip to the nearby Ben & Jerry's factory to take a tour and enjoy a free sample. Then caught a basketball game at McKee's and loved their hot buffalo wing pizza and local Shed beer. Plenty of great local spots to enjoy. All in all a wonderful place to spend a week with family.

We had a great time. My family really enjoyed the cabin. The way the cabin was decorated made us feel like part of the family. Planning on coming back next year for a whole week this time.
