About The Owner

We are a family of four residing in Raleigh, North Carolina. We relocated from Weston, Florida in 2005. We love our home in Raleigh, but enjoy our time in Beech Mountain over any place that we have been.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2007

Why The Owner chose High Country & Blue Ridge Mountains

We knew the first time visiting Beech Mountain in 2006 that this was where we wanted to own a place. The ambience of the mountain just drew us in. The many things to do throughout all seasons in this area really excited our family. We picked Beech Mountain over the other mountains in the area because we felt that the mountain had a quaint community environment that did not feel like a tourist spot though there are many amenities which tourists can enjoy. The open country and what can be enjoyed in the natural setting is invigorating. Our family would live here year round if it was possible. We truly feel like we are in God's country when we are here. Though God is everywhere He feels ever closer here.

What makes this cabin unique

We are at peace here in our cabin at Beech mountain. We all enjoy every aspect of where we have chosen to have our cabin built. Our cabin is far enough away to feel that you have complete privacy yet close enough to everything that we can enjoy other entertainment. Our family at times during our visits will spend a day or days just hanging out in our cabin playing games, reading, listening to music or watching movies. Other days we may go for a hike or maybe go to the Buckeye Rec center to play tennis. In the winter we enjoy spending quiet time in front of the wood burning fireplace while enjoying the mountainous landscape while making s'mores. Or we will take a 2 mile drive to jump on the slopes for snowboarding and skiing. We also love to be here in the summer. We enjoy a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway and have a picnic at Julian Price Park where there are beautiful crystal clean streams which you can picnic next to and enjoy a walk through. The temperatures in the summer allow us to spend much time outside which we would be unable to do in our home in Raleigh,North Carolina.

This place truly is Peace on Earth!! My wife and I celebrated 20 years of wedded bliss at this wonderful cabin. It is secluded, quiet, wonderfully furnished and has beautiful views of the mountains. Every day we would grab a beverage of our choice and go out on the spacious deck and listened to the leaves rustling as the deer came closer to us. Many times, we would look down at them and they would be looking directly at us. It was so awesome! The wood burning fireplace and the premium Directv package made those cold night cozy by the fire with great movies to enjoy. We highly recommend Peace on Earth!!

Truly Peace on Earth

  • 5 of 5

We chose Peace on Earth because it satisfied all the desires for our 3 day getaway. It had a balcony with a view and it was quiet and secluded. For us, it was perfect.

The mornings were serene and peaceful, allowing me to contemplate and write while I enjoyed my morning coffee. The only sounds that greeted me in the morning were that of running stream and the occasional rustling of trees from a sigh of a breeze.

In the evenings, we rarely turned on the television, though my husband was pleased it was a nice, big flat screen with all the channels he could ever want! Rather, we chose to sit on the balcony reading or enjoying nature. Deer spotting became a game and we saw deer roaming behind the cabin every evening.

The cabin was stocked with all necessities-we just brought the food. While secluded, the cabin was still close to everything you go to the area for. Grandfather Mountain was less than 20 minutes away as was rafting, fishing, hiking and shopping. All varieties of dining were close by from pizza to fine dining.

The cabin would be just as perfect for a family as it was for us two. It was laid out well for accommodating either. Also pleasant was the short walk to the door. No long run of steps or steep inclines or descents like we saw at many other cabins in the same area.

No matter why you plan a trip to the area, you can’t go wrong staying at Peace on Earth.

Our Winter Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We had a great experience during our Stay at Peace on Earth this past December 2011.

The cabin was very comfortable and equipped with everything we needed. Despite the fact we were not able to see snow falling, we enjoyed artificial one in located nearby Beech Mountain ski resort. We enjoyed our winter vacation very much and we strongly recommend this wonderful place. Thanks to Marc - the owner - for checking on us during our stay.

We stayed here in July 2011. It was the best experience. Everything was as stated in the description of the property. We enjoyed siting on the porch swing everyday. The endless amount of television movies kept us entertained. We experienced one of the hottest summers on record but were kept comfortable by the air conditioner. The owner made sure everything was to our satisfaction. We look forward to staying at this property again.
