Fantastic House and Host!

  • 5 of 5

What an amazing experience! A group of 7 of us spent a week here over Thankgiving and could not have asked for anything more. The house is comfortable and spacious with a huge screened in deck, a fireplace, hot tub, and game room. Jeff was the best host that I've ever rented from. Always super quick to respond and go above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and meet our needs. We loved staying here and will certainly be back!

Absolutely LOVE this house!

  • 5 of 5

Where to begin... I cannot say enough great things about this house, the property, and the host, Jeff. We spent 4 days here at the beginning of September, kind of as a farewell ode to summer, and it was just fabulous. The house is huge and very well kept. It is in a location that is secluded, for privacy and room to spread out, but also conveniently near a few small stores and a gas station for when you just have to run into town and pick a few things up. The kitchen is stocked with everything you could possibly need, just bring your own food! The bedrooms are all very comfy with queen beds and televisions, very accommodating when you have a lot of people with you. My absolute favorite part was the huge, screened in, back porch. It was perfect for morning coffee, lunch and late night games and snacking. The best part was there were NO BUGS! It did rain a few days while we were there, but it was o.k since the porch was still usable (We used the gas grill to make dinners those nights). The fire pit was big and awesome, and he had fire wood already chopped and ready to go. We built fires almost every day and enjoyed s'mores and hot dogs. We also used the hot tub too, which is not too far from the fire pit. Jeff also left recommendations for restaurants and golf courses near by. We had lunch in South Haven one day at Clementine's (Best ranch dressing EVER!!) and golfed at Hawk's Head, also in South Haven. We did a lot of shopping at the cute little shops in SH as well. Some of my guests also ventured out to Saugatuck for one of the days and they loved it there too. Both Saugatuck and South Haven are short drives, and well worth going. His recommendations were on point. We have decided we would love to come here to wrap up summer every year. I wish we booked it for longer than 4 days!! Although we didn't have kids with us, I would highly recommend this house for a family with kids because the basement has a pool table and a huge television. And since it opens up to the back yard, it is easy for kids to come and go. To wrap up my review, I just want to say I highly recommend this property to anyone wanting a nice little get away. Also, one more time, I want to thank Jeff for being a grand host. He made this trip pretty flawless for me and kept in touch within the weeks leading up to the stay (We booked about 2 months in advance). I am definitely keeping his email and will be returning to this home whenever I can, as long as he lets me!! Thanks again!!

A Vacation Worth Repeating!

  • 5 of 5

Summer found our family returning to this vacation home for the third year in a row! We really like the secluded setting which allows us to enjoy nature. The grandchildren like feeding the fish and catching frogs at the pond, identifying the birds at the bird feeders, and going for walks. It is always a treat to see the wild turkeys! The large fire pit provides lots of fun in the evening!

The area offers beaches and numerous places to pick blueberries and peaches a short drive away . One day we drove down to St Joseph where the grandchildren rode the carousel and played at the splash park.

This well maintained house works well for our three generations. There are bedrooms on three levels which allows for the toddlers to nap while the rest of us can enjoy ourselves in a different part of the house. We spend so much time, including eating most of our meals, on the large screen room which also provides bug free space for the little ones to enjoy the fresh air.

This property provides a great base for a memorable family vacation - again and again!

Fantastic Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

I usually head south for a summer vacation but boy am I happy I made the journey north. The house was everything described and then some! Very comfortable, well equipped, great setting and the pond, fire pit, amazing porch and hot tub are icing on the cake.

I give this beautiful home my highest recommendation.

Wonderful hideaway!

  • 5 of 5

What a beautiful home we found when arriving for vacation in the area. There were two families in our party totaling 8 people and we found there was enough room for all to be comfortable during our stay. We loved the porch and spent a good deal of time there but we also enjoyed and used the hot tub and fire pit for a cookout. It seemed that Jeff had thought of everything we might need including skewers to roast marshmallows. We also found the location to be ideal as we spent time at the beaches and shopping in South Haven and Saugatuck and rode the sand dunes. We would highly recommend this home for a great getaway destination. Cindy B

The Porch! The Porch! The Porch!

  • 5 of 5

After attending a wedding, five of us stayed here for a week of visiting, eating, sewing, sights, and enjoying. This was a perfect place. We recommend Boatwerks in Holland and Ida Red's in Saugatuck (open til 2). The market in Holland (Weds.) and the farm stands around can supply you with great eats. We also made cherry and blueberry pies. We loved the winery in Fennville. The area teems with wildlife - deer, turkeys, hawks, a HUGE snapping turtle, birds, and black squirrels. And that porch! You will enjoy every minute there. There's an upscale grill there that we appreciated.

We made 19 quilts to give to foster children when they're placed in Lexington, KY. (One of the daughters is a social worker there.) We appreciated the space and the iron and board. We have to admit we considered making that pretty shower curtain into a quilt! JK.

Negatives: We didn't like hauling the garbage so far and we wished we had a recycling bin. We were on vacation! And measuring cups --the only thing the kitchen lacked.
