Ferguson House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms + Loft + Den, 3.5 Baths, (Sleeps 10)

Welcome to The Summit at Blue Ridge, our mountain home! The house looks like a log church nestled in the mountains. It sits on 26 acres of mountain valleys and trails, so there are no close neighbors around! We hope you will feel the love and find rest during the days that you are here. You will hear the night sounds of the Blue Ridge Mountains….you will feel the seclusion from the hustle and bustle of city life….you will see the stars as though you were on the front porch of heaven…you will see treasures along the trails that God has placed in the secret spots in the woods…you might even see some wild turkeys along the path, or a glimpse of a beautiful deer.

The home has three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. The bathroom in the downstairs has a Jacuzzi tub. There are two stone gas fireplaces, one upstairs in the great room, and one downstairs. The washer-dryer are downstairs for your use. Our house will sleep several people.

There are two queen size beds in the upstairs bedrooms, one double bed in the downstairs bedroom, a set of twin beds and a futon in the loft, plus the sleeper sofa that is in the downstairs great room. The fully-equipped kitchen will probably be the place where you will enjoy many moments around the large dining room table.

The favorite place to hang out is the deck. The view is breath-taking! The hot tub on the deck has an incredible view of the mountains in the day and the myriad of stars at night. We have a charcoal grill that you are welcome to use. Satellite is upstairs and downstairs for the TVs and there is a CD player with speakers for your enjoyment. If it is warm, there are fans for every room, plus ceiling fans with remote controls. We have air conditioning units in the loft, and the two main floor bedrooms, and portable a/c units in the great rooms. Also you will enjoy the fresh mountain air at night with the screens placed in the open windows! You might even hear the whippoorwill calling in the evening and early morning hours!

Bring your camera for those special glimpses of clouds on the mountains or the full rainbow after a mountain shower or just the God-given natural beauty of the surroundings. The Summit backs up to 6,000 acres of a National Wildlife Preserve. It is truly a Summit for the Soul!

About Madell Price

My sweet husband unexpectantly passed away in June, 2015. His passing left such a big hole in my heart. We were in church ministry together for over 50 years. We have 5 grown children and 12 grandkids, who are the joy of our lives. We loved to get away to the mountains where life is more carefree and away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. I love music, art, books, playing games, hanging out with family and friends, and LIFE! The Summit was a dream come true for my husband and I enjoy keeping it for others to enjoy.

Madell Price purchased this house in 2006

Why Madell Price chose High Country & Blue Ridge Mountains

We love the views from this piece of 'heaven' and feel the stress of city life roll away when we are able to go to The Summit.

What makes this house unique

The panoramic views of the mountains and the amazing star display on clear nights take you away from the daily grind. Being the only house on the mountain also gives a sense of a true getaway and retreat!

The Summit blew me away by its luxury at the peak of a mountain! You can see for miles from the deck and the galaxies at night are unreal. Every aspect was just perfect, from the open concept living space, to the comfortable beds, and the cleanliness from top to bottom. So many opportunities to make memories that will last a lifetime. We will be coming back as often as we can!

Perfect Mountain Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin at The Summit was the perfect place for our guys weekend getaway! The cabin is close enough to town to go get supplies and far enough away to fully relax. The views from the deck are absolutely breathtaking! Everything about our stay and accommodations were as advertised and then some! I definitely recommend this place for a relaxing getaway in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Refreshing Retreat!

  • 5 of 5

This lovely home was the perfect retreat for our gathering of 3 families. It is secluded for sure, but so much is there to enjoy, we wish we could have stayed longer. We left saying, "Let's meet here, again!" The sunrise and sunset times in the beautiful outdoor living spaces were just breathtaking. This was the perfect spot for our family getaway, and the owners are so very gracious. No joke on the roads.... this is mountainous terrain and you will need all wheel drive, but so very worth it!

Owner's Response: This is exactly what my husband and I envisioned for our guests--a refreshing getaway. He passed away suddenly just two months ago, so reviews like this one has been a blessing to me. We now have a maintenance crew who live nearby who are helping with the care of our beloved mountain home!

I have been to many nice cabins and this one just became my favorite! When I'm on vacation I look for privacy, something to entertain the kids, a good view, and nice accomadations. This cabin has it all. If you feel like you need to get away from it all and relax this is the place for you, it is VERY private, and the view is spectacular. Between the game table, trails, board games, books, movies, toys, etc. there is plenty to entertain without even having to leave the cabin. The owners also seem like very nice concerned owners. Overall an excellent thumbs up!

The Cabin on the Mtn

  • 2 of 5

Our stay at "The Summit" for my birthday was very interesting. I think that it should be VERY clearly stated that this is a beautiful home that would be perfect for a retreat or if you are interested to stay at the home without leaving for days. This cabin is 50 mins from Blowing Rock and 40 mins from Lenior. It is very secluded and after talking with some locals they are not even sure of its location. There is little to no cell service at this home so please make sure that you have given family and loved ones the address and information before traveling to the property.

There is not air conditioning at this home. There are portable intake units that do circulate some air in the main living room but the bedrooms on main level are uninhabitable, if you are planning a summer visit please plan accordingly. The deck is lovely and the beauty of the view is memorable. However you can not enjoy this view in the day time because of the heat of the sun. Please make sure to visit during fall or winter.

Owner's Response: This particular weekend was one of the hottest of the year...We do have 3 large portable air conditioning units in the great rooms, ceiling fans in every room, as well as a window air conditioner in the loft. The mountain night air usually cools the bedrooms down with the window fans at night. Our renters are our primary concern, and we are taking measures to make sure they will enjoy their stay.
