David has a passion for renovating old buildings, and enjoys hosting people in Albuquerque. I work as an architect with a focus on synthesizing beauty and energy sensibility.
My wife and daughter and I love urban and mountain walks, cooking and eating diverse, wholesome food, and seem to always be renovating one building or another. We have 4 chickens, a small house, and strive to live simply. We share a car and ride bicycles and walk and ride buses and trains.
I like yoga, soccer, sailing, and woodworking. I don't text much, and I prefer in-person interaction over computerized 'social networking.' I have traveled extensively and love opportunities to connect with people. I aim to be a host who responds quickly to the needs of guests, and I want to create inspiring places where people can rejuvenate and thrive.

Albuquerque has much to offer, and the Downtown Neighborhood is ideal for visitors with easy access to just about everything one might desire. This traditional neighborhood is architecturally and socially diverse, very walkable, and offers many attractions! Several City parks are within walking distance, one with an amazing weekly growers' market in the warmer months!
Design features include efficient and quiet appliances as well as heating and cooling systems, reclaimed and artfully designed wood finishes, including hardwood floors, exposed structural members, and use of green household products. Good place for environmentally sensitive people, and folks who appreciate good design. Best of all is the location – in the heart of the City and the Land of Enchantment...Located in a unique and pleasant neighborhood, between the Rio Grande and the Cultural and Entertainment Districts. Walking distance to: Restaurants and Nightlife, Museums, Botanic Gardens, Zoo, Aquarium, Bicycle paths along the River, Historic Route 66 + main bus route (1-1/2 block), Albuquerque Transportation Center, RailRunner, and Mary Fox Park (1/2 block)
The house is lovely, and very comfortable for 2-4 people. 3 of us stayed a week at Casa Roma to attend a conference in Albuquerque. The house is exactly 1 mile to the conference center--a very pleasant walk--and convenient to old town also. We found the house very comfortable and well stocked with everything we needed. The open plan of the house and one small bathroom might be a challenge for some who did not know each other well, but it was just fine for us. My only suggestion would be to have better light in the bathroom/dressing area and another mirror. We had to move the makeup mirror to the back of the house for light, and the only full length mirror is a little hard to use (we were often elbowing each other out of the way).
David was an excellent host. When we had a snafu with the internet, he made sure it was fixed ASAP. If we are lucky enough to visit ABQ again, Casa Roma would be our first choice!
This house was great and in a great neighborhood. I did a LOT of walks all around. The house was very comfortable, and totally well-equipped with everything one could possibly need, including table surfaces for writing and setting up a laptop.
The property was just as listed and in the pictures. It was immaculate and well-maintained. I would, and already have, recommended it and other properties in the area to friends. I went to the art museum as recommended by the owner who was completely gracious, and ate at Monroe's around the corner. It was perfect. I also found the bakery on Mountain Street.
The only recommendation I could make would be for brighter reading light at the end of the sofa and perhaps a brighter bulb in the lavatory. Otherwise, it is totally perfect in every way.
We enjoyed our family vacation at Casa Roma. The home is well laid out, and our 8 year old loved the upstairs loft. Great neighborhood with nearby playground. Central location so easy to get to downtown and old town sites.
My husband and I loved Casa Roma! Great location, great amenities, and great owner. If we ever are back in Albuquerque we would definitely stay here again!!
The home was wonderful, nicely appointed and a joy to stay in. I don't know if I would want to have four in the home as the master bedroom and bath are in an open space. Had considered putting a friend in the upstairs bed but the privacy factor would of been an issue. Did not get to enjoy too much of the wonderful amenities but hope to rent again in the future. The only thing I would change is the bath-must be a high maintenance girl as I had issues with mirrors for getting ready in the morning.
I rented this home for a month and it was perfect for me. Close to downtown,Old Town, museums, and a nice little grocery store. Kitchen was very well appointed with everything you needed and more! Beautiful woodwork throughout and many "Craftsman" details. My host was great and readily available if I needed anything. Great place!
